[/h2][p]Short term solution: If you have a profile with 100% base game achievement progress you can go to the achievement screen and there will be an icon on the top right of the screen that you can use to unlock the new achievements.
Notice about using this unlock method: This is generally considered "cheating" for 3rd party achievement sites so use it at your own risk. This does not effect steam though so if you don't care for that then use it as you see fit.
Honestly I didn't expect this sort of backlash to adding new achievements. I personally always liked when games added them with updates. But with the amount of disagreement we've gotten over adding them in with an included update I'm considering just removing them all together from steam and leaving them as in game unlocks only. [/p]
