A Very Scottish Christmas is here and tis certainly going to be an unforgettable season with the new kilted fellows on the battlefields along with 5 new Scotland themed maps making their way to the game this update. [/p][p][/p][p]The '12 Days Of Holdfast' limited time event also begins with the release of this update. Starting from December 17th until January 12th you'll be able to hop on and complete 12 challenges with rewards and unique unlocks. This battle hardened fortress has sat protected by brave highlanders across generations and now yet another threat comes to the castles doors seeking to take their freeeedom! [/p][p][/p][p]Man the walls, give em steel and defend Scotia with all your might.[/p][p][/p][p]The new Army Battlefield and Army Conquest maps 'Fada Strath', 'Teacsa Isle' and 'Loch Glen' are all equipped with plenty of sheep and are ready for a battle or two for the highland history books. A new linebattle map 'Copper Valley' has also been introduced into the game. Not us festive enjoyers that's for sure. Starting from December 17th and lasting until January 12th the new 12 Days Of Holdfast limited time event will be live. For 12 days unique festive feats will be unlocked and reward those who complete them with exclusive gifts.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]A Tartan Wrapped Musket, Tartan Backpack, Whisky Bottle and much more can be unlocked during this limited time. You'll also keep these items after the event ends for ultimate bragging rights. [/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]3 new uniforms of the Inverness Loyal Regiment have been added to the British faction's Officer, Line Infantry and Flag Bearer classes costing 2,000 Shillings each. [/p][p][/p][p]Those who manage to complete all the feats will be rewarded with the elusive 'Stag' medal to adorn on your playercard.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]New Main Menu[/h2][p][/p][p]Fresh with the Christmas release is the new main menu background scene kitted out and themed around the update. We've also included a new free main menu song to really get you in the mood for some steel giving. Thanks to the exceptional response to the console release what was planned to be a major update soon turned into a full expansion with new factions, maps, a new ship, gamemode, mechanics, roleplay features and much more.[/p][p][/p][p]The team is committed to releasing a full experience worthy of the seven seas and while we're close to finishing this kraken sized update some further refinements and appropriate testing time is required. It is with this commitment that unfortunately Holdfast: Age of Sail will now have a new scheduled release date for Q1 2026. :GalacticPirate:[/p][p][/p][p]This isn't a decision taken lightly but we believe it is the right one to ensure this massive expansion can realise its full potential. Fred and his minions begin their invasion of the Holdfast battlefields from the 28th of October until the 9th of November. 💀[/p][p][/p][p]During this spooky period, players will be able to equip unique Fred cursed versions of heads found within the game. These ghoul like faces bring a fright to all that encounter them on the battlefield and feature unique voice lines and gestures.[/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube][p][/p][p]To further celebrate Holdfast Halloween we'll be running an 1.5x increased XP event starting also from the 28th of October and finishing on the 4th of November. It's a great opportunity to hop on and gather some additional levels for your classes and soldier rank.[/p][p][/p][p]We've also gone ahead and pushed through a few fixes for some bugs, a full list can be found in the changelog linked at the bottom of this post.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][h2]Enemy Vessel Sighted![/h2][p][/p][p]As the end of the year draws ever near so too does the release of Holdfast's next free major expansion for the game. Holdfast: Age Of Sail will completely revolutionise 50 vs 50 player naval combat and bring fresh experiences to this much loved side of the game. [/p][p][/p][p]From an increase in player count to new naval engagement scenarios, gamemodes, factions, roleplay mechanics, ship boarding and so much more we've barely scratched the surface.
