Recently, I started hosting broadcasts on the Twich platform dedicated to developing the second Chapter of The Last Patient and working on my new game project. On broadcasts, a friendly manner of communication is encouraged. Update: The beginning of infection

Update: The beginning of infection

Hi patients! A lot of time has passed since the last update, and I apologize for such a long absence. Nevertheless, I am pleased to present a new global update!

List of changes:
  • The hospital is completely redesigned. It has become slightly smaller, but better designed. A lot of interior elements as well as new rooms have been added. And all existing rooms have been changed. This is not the final version of the hospital, I already have a well-developed concept of how it will finally look like.

  • Location of enemies and algorithm of their appearance have been changed. Most enemies will no longer appear behind the player, as before. Zombies and monsters roam the hospital or are waiting for the player in different rooms. The soldiers have taken up defensive positions and held them.

  • The artificial intelligence has been improved. Enemies now try to avoid obstacles and better pursue the player. Soldiers hide behind shelters, firing in short bursts.

  • New enemies have been added. All “old” characteristics have been changed.

  • All weapons have been changed to better versions. There is an opportunity to fight with fists. A unique weapon (chainsaw) have been added.

  • The graphics of the game have been improved. The brightness is increased, so now you can navigate without a flashlight, but it’s still better to turn it on with the F key.

  • The full lighting has been added.

  • New soldier’s models have been added. Now you can pick up weapons and ammunition from dead soldiers.

  • Have begun to work on the plot. Have been added some notes which help to understand what is happening in the hospital. In the future, the plot will be finalized and new characters will be added. The game will now be divided into 3 chapters. The 2 remaining chapters will be published within a year.

  • Unnecessary objects, characters, scripts and so on have been removed.

  • The annoying red screen has been removed.

  • The game menu is completely changed.

  • Many minor fixes have been made.


Unfortunately, it still takes a long time to load the game. These are the problems of the GameGuru engine. Please, during loading, try not to click the mouse and do not touch the keyboard, otherwise it may crash. Just wait until the game is fully loaded.

Now let me appeal to all players. When “The Last Patient” came out in 2017, I got a tough but fair community response. Instead of working with criticism and continuing developing the game, I chose to close myself and ignore it. It was my mistake, and I admit it. Now I want to fix it, trying to make the game the way it was originally intended.
This update is just the first step towards the originally conceived version of “The Last Patient”. In the near future there will be a separate news devoted to plans for the further development of the game throughout the year.

"Return to the hospital" Update


Dear Patients, I'm glad to present you a new update.

  • Game optimization and performance were improved, some bugs were fixed.

  • The game gamma was changed: the hospital became darker and more terrible. You will not be able to navigate without a flashlight (you will be advised how to turn it on from the very beginning).

  • Hospital rooms were changed, similar rooms removed. Changed the enemies’ position and design of some rooms.

  • Added new sounds and music, changed and deleted some old sounds.

  • Added talking npc system - appeared new character in the game’s starting room. In the future, similar characters will be added to improve the atmosphere. You can talk to this character or you can kill him.

  • The interactive system was updated, uninteresting interactive removed, and new one was added (for example, you can find the radio and listen a message about the infection).

  • The weapons’ system was completely updated, all weapons changed to better counterparts, a melee weapon was added, as well as a unique weapon (chainsaw). You can use your fists from the very beginning and also can push your enemies.

  • The AI was improved: enemies are now smarter, soldiers react faster and shoot more accurately, zombies and monsters bypass obstacles. The number of enemies and their location was changed. Enemies’ characteristics were redesigned, new unique enemies were added.

  • The game menu is improved, when you click the "about" button, a page with the button layout is opened. Were added boot screens and a new menu background.

  • The game balance is changed, the game is now more difficult, so do not forget to save the game more often!


This is not the last global update, we are working on the new levels and expansion of content.

  • Interaction system added. Now you can interact with some objects at the hospital.

  • The weapons system updated completely. Weapon models replaced with higher quality, new weapon added.

  • Added new enemies, locations and characteristics of some "old" enemies changed.

  • The hospital is expanded. Added two new branch. Partially changed the old rooms.

     
  • The quantity of medkits and ammo increased.

  • Slow health regeneration system added.

  • Keys locations changed.

  • Gameplay is changed partially.
