The Book of Weapons Arrives to Mythos

Today we are thrilled to announce the addition of all legacy Book of Weapons text to Mythos, Hunt: Showdown 1896’s online lore hub.

The Book of Weapons shines a shaky light on the darkest spider-webbed corners of the Corruption, exploring terrible ways the Sculptor’s influence can assert itself over the softest tissues of our minds. The alleged truths revealed in each story are something that, much like the cold terror that grips the hearts of the bayou and gulch, are more often felt than seen.

Tell me, Hunter, when you are reading of the time Lynch conducted a grisly ritual to formulate the inoculation, do you believe every word, or do you hold tight to the presence of potential falsehoods?

When you recount the story of how Mara Cranston discovered her familial tie to the Meathead, does it make you wonder how far the Corruption can seep into our minds, our bodies, our very souls? Or does it leave you under the nagging impression that some of the details are missing?

What exactly happened, and when? Nobody can be sure, not really. All you’ll have to go on for now is your gut. For these stories are presented outside of chronological boundaries. They stand alone as brief reflections of the evil that thrives within the Incursion zones, here and then gone again, like the crest of a wave breaking, or the flame of a candle being blown out.

So as you make your way through the Book of Weapons section on Mythos, try not to wonder if the Corruption itself may be waiting for you from the dark spaces in between the pages.

You wouldn’t want to accidentally open any doorways for it to creep in through.
