News on the Flashing Lights June Update

Hello all,

We hope you're excited about the next Flashing Lights update! We have some news for you today.

This update will bring all EMS callouts over to the new map, plus a fire department callout, and some new liveries for the ambulance. We know you are going to love it. However, we need your help!

We have made an unstable version of the new update available for testing, and we need loads of you to give it a try. With the missions having been ported to the new map, we need to make sure that the update goes through additional testing. So please jump into the Discord and head to the #announcements channel to find out more. We really appreciate your help!

The release will be dependent on what bugs you may find, but we are anticipating the full public release to be delayed until next week.

Full Update Reveal - EMS and Fire Department Callouts + New Ambulance Liveries

As we're asking you wait a bit longer for the public release, we wanted to give you a good look at the update itself.

EMS and Fire Department Callouts on the New Map

In this update we have ported all EMS callouts from the old map to the new map and made some adjustments. This includes motor vehicle collision, unconscious person, hit and run and gunshot wound callouts!

We've also ported a fire department rescue callout to the new map: motor vehicle collision.

We hope you'll enjoy playing these callouts on the new, optimised map.

New Ambulance Liveries

We know you love to be able to customise your Flashing Lights experience, so we have added two new liveries for the ambulance.

Please note: We recommend that you hold on until the public release of the update if you are expecting a more polished experience.

If you wish to play the early unstable version of the update right now, please head to the official Discord and check out the #announcements channel for details.

Sneak Peek: What's Next for Flashing Lights

Hello all,

We hope you're continuing to enjoy Flashing Lights, whether it's with friends or alone, whether it's patrolling the city, treating patients or putting out fires! We're currently working hard on the June update, due towards the end of the month. If you haven't seen it already, take a look at our roadmap for the next few updates.

In September, we'll be adding callouts for all services to the new map - at this point, all functions from the original map will have been ported to the new one - and so we'll be removing the original map.

What we want to talk about today is some of the exciting new content that we have planned for late 2021 and throughout 2022.

What's Coming Following the September Update?

Here's some of the new content planned for late 2021 and throughout 2022!
New map area: Suburbs with interiors and callouts
We're excited to announce that we're working on a brand new area for the new map: suburbs. This isn't just a nice change of scenery either. There will be new callouts designed for the suburbs - and yes... there will be some interiors!

Traffic stop update with vehicle search and drug tests
Rural towns with additional police, fire and EMS buildings
Fire system rework with spreading fires, hose system update, plus a fire engine
    Police K9/Fire rescue dog

We will also be focusing on bug fixes. While we are excited to add new content, we will also be working on bug fixes and improving the quality of the game.

Developer Livestream Q&A: 29 June

On Tuesday 29 June at 4pm BST/8am PDT, Nils Jakrins (600) and Tim Boss (RedPandaViking) from the Flashing Lights team will be going live on YouTube to answer your questions! Get your questions in now via the #q-and-a channel on the official Flashing Lights Discord, and then tune in to the live stream here on YouTube to see if they answer your question!

We're open to anything, whether it's about which department we most like to play as, or whether it's about our favourite pizza topping!

Thank you once again for your patience while we've been working on the new map! We hope that you're as excited as we are about the next steps.

Thanks for taking this journey with us.

PATCH NOW LIVE + UPDATED ROADMAP ANNOUNCED - May to Sep 2021

Hello all,

Updated Roadmap (May to September 2021)

We have updated and overhauled our roadmap for the coming months, and are excited to share it with you today!

As you will know, we ran into some issues with the previous update and released it a little later than expected. Because of this, we've had to reorganise the roadmap. Once again we thank you for your patience and support while we have been and continue to work on the new map, and we hope you enjoy today's roadmap reveal!

May

In May we'll be adding a new vehicle which will be playable for all departments! We're also overhauling the siren sound effects for both maps based on your feedback. In addition we are updating the siren system, making it easier to use.

June

In June we will be porting lots of the existing EMS and fire department callouts from the original map to the new map.

July

This update will be focused on bug fixes, but will also introduce Greek, Hungarian, Norwegian and Slovak support. Plus, another new vehicle - we'll let you guess which vehicle it is...

Please note that following this update we will be returning to bi-monthly updates.

September

In September the new and expanded map will replace the original map, multiple languages will be reworked and updated and there will be callouts for all three departments added to the new map.

There's plenty more to come too following the September update. In early June we will be sharing a little more with you for our plans for new content following the September update, so keep your eyes peeled for that!
