For The Fatherland!

Dear friends,

The 23rd of February is a special day in Russia dedicated to the defenders of the Fatherland. One can protect their country in many ways apart from holding a gun and keeping the borders safe, especially in the 21st century. Therefore, we wish all of you to live in peace and prosperity!

As for the development of LMR, these last months have given us a new perspective in regards to the game. Oftentimes, it happens that the project looks very different in the beginning and in the end. When the main part is completed, it becomes very integral and, to a great extent, manages to exist independently. The characters show their new colours, even the author didn’t know of. However, the final stage is barely any less important than others. It works the same way as in marathon – if one runs too fast at the start line, chances are, they will likely be too exhausted to reach the finish one. As a matter of fact, we would like to rewrite and complete some of the endings after having the main scenario work done.

Besides that, we are working on the optimisation of the technical part of the project, and, by the release date, the LMR engine will be modified, which allows implementing new features and increasing the performance on low-end devices (this process is being performed in parallel with the rest of the development and doesn’t affect the release date).

Timewise, we are planning to release the game as early as possible this year, but can’t name the month yet. In any case – you shan’t wait long!

Also, there is still some time for you to preorder the game and get some nice bonuses as well as have your name appear in the titles, for the history’s sake! Some of the items are to disappear before the release.

You can preorder here.

Happy New Year 2020!

Dear friends,

We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! May you and your families enjoy peace and harmony in the new decade!

As for us, we are not just turning another page of the calendar, but step into the new era together with you. Merely ten years ago, “Everlasting Summer” was an unknown project from an anonymous imageboard, and now it is one of the most recognisable Russian games. In 2020, we are going to release “Love, Money, Rock’n’Roll”, which is an ideological continuation of “Everlasting Summer”, although it is not related to it in terms of the story. It also marks a new phase of our development and creative vision.

However, we are not planning to stop just there and will keep working on the new games. We already have concepts, drafts, ideas, but it is too early to speak of it. The most crucial is that we have desire, energy and belief that you will be interested in all this. In fact, every writer writes for themselves first, but it is much easier to persist when one sees that their works are in demand rather than when they are just kept in their drawer. It pleases one even more when they regularly read positive reviews and receive gratitudes from people of all nationalities, ages, genders and social backgrounds.

Internet, and, as I view it, in particular, gadgets have changed our reality dramatically. What existed only in science fiction merely 20 years ago, seems to be an irreplaceable part of our lives now. The distances are getting shorter, people are getting closer and the borders are getting thinner. Now one can talk to everybody on Earth at any time. Of course, if they reply… We have become closer to people, whom we don’t know, whom we have never seen and will never see. However, at the same time, we’ve grown so much apart from the ones, who are next to us. Therefore, in the upcoming year, we urge you to take your eyes off the screen and look around. Perhaps you will find something more important than everlasting memes and Netflix.

You can still support us and get some nice bonuses by making a preorder here.

In the blink of an eye

Dear friends,

Another year is passing by and so is the decade. Six years ago, “Everlasting Summer” has been released: its development was no easy task, but, as we see it, it was worth it. We hope you hold the same view!

People say that time flies and years pass at light speed. However, for me, these six years have been full of events: releasing the Steam and mobile versions of “Everlasting Summer” as well as launching the “Love, Money, Rock’n’Roll” project. And now, with just a few remaining bits left, I realise that developing this game was not any less challenging, but, hopefully, it is also at least as interesting as the previous one!

Yes, we would need to postpone the release date to 2020 again. In principle, we could’ve released it already as it is: without a few final (and that’s crucial) CGs, some animations, without testing (which would’ve definitely affected the gaming process on mobile platforms), with a forced and shortened ending of one of the roots. We could have made early access and worked on it on the go.

However, I do believe that early access has always been a bit of oxymoron when it comes to visual novels. And judging by the rushed releases of the recent more expensive projects, we all can conclude that rush kills quality.

I often hear from people in the game industry that “Everlasting Summer” has a unique community. This is a wonderful thing to be noted, but, of course, we wouldn’t want the meme “It shouldn’t be long” contain more truth than a joke normally does. Remember: a delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad.

The purpose of this post is not to justify how everything has been going but rather serve as a manifestation of belief in the bright future. New Year’s promises given to oneself (like losing some weight or learning a new language) usually do not lead to the desired outcome and can even be demotivating. Nevertheless, it is much easier to build something up on the basis of what had been done. For now, a lot has been finished already. Currently, we would say that the game is 85% completed.

I am sure, some of the developers would’ve just released it and then fixed the rest by adding patches at the production stage. This reminds me of the recent anime, “Shoujo-Tachi Wa Kouya Wo Mezasu”, in which the protagonists formally won the competition in terms of sales figures, but admitted that their game was merely a flash in the pan, while their competitors have created something that would be selling for years and years after.

We don’t compete with anyone in terms of speed or sales volume – quality matters more to us, as well as our input in the world’s culture, although it might sound far-fetched and posh. Perhaps in our age of quick consumption, such an approach wouldn’t be liked by everybody. Our apologies for that.

However, if you share the same values and want to support us, you can make a preorder and get some nice bonuses here.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you. We are delighted and honoured to have you around.

Just An Update

Hi there!

The 4th of November is National Reconciliation Day in Russia, and we are very delighted to have your support every step of the way!

For the last two months, we have done some significant upgrades regarding the quality of the sprites in the game, based on your feedback. Apart from the overall increase in the level of details and finessing, we have been reworking the emotions of the characters, so that their exterior would fit the CG. The completed sprites have been handed over to our animation artist, so you are fully entitled to seeing better animations in comparison with the demo.

Besides, we are still working on the code and scenario. Our project is approaching the stage of alpha testing, which we will communicate later. We are continuously putting quality first so that you will be able to enjoy a worthy product.

Please remain calm – after some downturn (that has been caused by the objective reasons), we have regained our velocity!

Please don’t forget about the preorder! You can still make one before the release and enjoy some excellent bonuses.

Turning Of The Calendar

Dear friends,

Here we are to bring some exciting news regarding the development of LMR!

Over these months, we have done a lot to optimise the mobile version of the game for Android and iOS. We did our best to consider your wishes and eliminate the flaws. Now the game works with uncommon screen resolutions (although what is deemed to be standard and common in our mad world?), but you can also play with the original 16:9 resolution. The fast-forward option now functions faster, and you can control the game behaviour using swipes, just like in “Everlasting Summer”. Besides, the game takes less memory on your smartphone. Finally, we have corrected an enormous amount of bugs, which we wouldn’t even start mentioning in this post.

Apart from that, we have updated the demo in Steam!

As for the rest of the development, things are running their course.

Use this moment to make a preorder - and have your name (or nickname) commemorated in the titles of the game! Your support is vital to us, especially now, when we are at the final stage! You can make a preorder here.
