What will happen if I have the game installed when the Free Weekend ends?

Your license to play the game will terminate and you will need to purchase it. Hint – free weekends are usually heavily discounted, so you should check out the price and buy it while Free Weekend is running!

Will you be running a discount during Free Weekend?

The game will be on sale for 75% off during the free weekend! This is the largest discount we have done!

Will you be installing additional servers to cope with the demand?

Yes. We will also add more if necessary during the Weekend itself, and afterwards we will keep the capacity as needed.

What regions do you have servers in?

North America, Europe, Asia (Korea and Thailand), South America, Oceania

Are there any restrictions or content that is not available with the free weekend?

Skin crates will not be able to be opened unless you purchase the the game. All other content is unlocked for the free weekend.

Below are the patch notes for Early Access Patch #5 which goes live in conjunction with the free weekend! We hope you enjoy the new content and features and look forward to your feedback!


Recoil will now properly reset when running out of ammo
Recoil will now properly reset when holding fire button
Recoil will now properly reset when using burst mode


Added a voting system for travelling
Added UI for helicopter voting


You can now connect your Twitch account to your XERA: Survival Account
Twitch drops will be coming in a future patch


Added new AI type 'Stalker', has more HP, does more damage and is faster
Stalkers have a chance to spawn at night in normal locations
Stalkers drop military loot
Improved Humanoids' emissive materials


Premium Skin Crates implemented


Added fade effect when loading into server
Main menu has been improved
Added social buttons to main menu
Moved some UI timer displays to new system for better consistency


Only two compounds can be up at any given time, and must be completed to possibly unlock other locations
Compounds now have a chance of spawning new Stalker AI
Added two new compound locations to the map


Reduced Gold Bar buy back ratios
Reduced Gold Bar prices


Improved Discord Rich Presence


Safe zone will now damage hostile players
You can no longer shoot around the boundaries inside of a safe zone


Safe zone respawns are now on the same timer as nearby respawn


Reduced default fog to 0.013 (was 0.02)
Increased sky light to 1.3 from 1.2


Increased max world loot amount to 2700 (was 2100)
Airport Reworked
Added interiors to some houses
Added two new compound locations
Added new trailer park location near Riverton
Added gas station to Riverton
Other improvements made to Riverton
