Rules for the Escort The VIP Event!

Rules For Escort The VIP

1. At the beginning of the event, the XERA: Corp VIP will announce the sector they are located in to the global chat (To participate in the event, you must have global chat enabled to see the location). Teams will have 40 minutes to safely locate and escort the VIP back to the safe zone from the time that their location is announced.

2. The VIP may be located anywhere within the sector announced. (This could be in a building, out in the open, on the borders, or at a point of interest). You will know who the VIP is as they will be wearing the blue camo outfit and a red backpack. Use of the red backpack by anyone other than the VIP is prohibited and will result in the offending player being banned until the end of the event.

3. The VIP will stay in place within the sector until a rescue team comes to secure him. Teams escorting the VIP may contain no more than 2 players per group. Players escorting the VIP will be allowed to provide the VIP with armor and a helmet if they choose.

4. The objective of the team will be to protect the VIP until they return to the safe zone. Once the VIP has been located, the VIP will invite the player that located them to their group. A 2nd team member may also join the group to escort the VIP back to the safe zone. All players participating in the event must have group invites enabled.

5. Should the VIP be killed, the mission will be considered a failure and will end.

6. If the person closest to the VIP is killed, the VIP will stand still until another player comes to take over as the lead escort. If the new escort leader is from a different group, the VIP will have them join their team and will leave the previous group.

7. Should the VIP be successfully escorted back to Grace in the safe zone, both team members (max. 2) that successfully completed the mission will be rewarded with 5 Gold Bars and 10 Silver Bars. These valuable goods may be used at Yoshi’s Valuable Goods Mega Shop to purchase items available from the price sheet.
  • a. The current stock of items and price sheet for Yoshi’s Valuable Goods Mega Shop can be located at Link has been removed as the event has ended.
  • b. Current stock will be updated each time a purchase is made.
  • c. Players may use gold and silver bars obtained outside of the Escort The VIP event to make purchases.
  • d. Purchases will be made via a player asking in proximity chat (To access proximity chat, hit enter to bring up a chat window, then tab to toggle between proximity chat and global chat) to make a purchase. The player should indicate what they would like to purchase. A trade interface will be opened for the exchange of Gold Bars/Silver Bars for the item they wish to purchase.

Community Special Event - Saturday October, 5th 2019!

Greetings Survivors!

On Saturday, October 5th, we will be running a community event on the US East 1 server!

This event will run from 12pm-8pm cst.

Every hour during the event, we will be hosting an Escort the VIP mission. Teams will compete against each other to locate and rescue the XERA: Corp VIP from a random location on the map. They will be tasked with escorting them back to a safe zone. Complete the task without the VIP getting killed or your team being taken out, and you'll be rewarded with some valuable goods that can be redeemed for high tier loot! It's kill or be killed while escorting the VIP so remember, if you take out the team escorting the VIP, your team can continue the mission on bringing them home!

More details will be coming just before the event this Saturday! We look forward to seeing everyone play and hope you will enjoy some great pvp action!

Welcome to XERA: Survival Season 1 and Patch 4.1!

This weekend marks the start of Survival Seasons, which improves the Early Access experience for all players while allowing us to add features and content more quickly.

We have increased the size of the team and we are just starting to see the benefit of this, but with faster development we need to be able to iterate and balance more aggressively.

Seasons allow us to reset the game after 2 or 3 full patches - roughly every 2-3 months. Each season begins with a Server wipe to reset the game’s economy and player inventories. You will always know when wipes are coming.

During seasons we will introduce and balance new features, weapons, loot tables and so on. Leaderboard resets allow us to give out Season Rewards - you gain a sense of accomplishment for the hours you put into the game.

XERA: Survival has changed a lot since we launched into Steam Early Access. More features have been added, new quality of life updates, and most recently the new currency system has been revamped, expanded and balanced (based on community feedback).

Join us when Season 1 starts this weekend! It’s a great time for new players to get in the game on a level playing field and for others to return with their friends.

Patch Notes - Early Access Patch #4

Greetings Survivors!

The following is a list of patch notes and changes for Early Access Patch #4. We are very excited to introduce a few new systems and some quality of life improvements.

As a reminder, Season 1 is planned to start sometime around mid September. With the announcement of the start of Season 1, we want to remind everyone that there will be a full wipe at the beginning of the season. We also are pleased to announce that our 2nd series of survivor crates will be introduced along with 50 new skins for everyone to earn. When season 1 begins, the current skins in the survivor crates will be retired and will no longer be obtainable in game. Any skins that you have already earned will be yours to keep!

Vendor System

Vendor NPCs are now available at each safe zone
Vendor's items and prices will shuffle every 20 minutes
Vendors have unique stock of items that will be different on each server's NPC character
Vendors will only purchase items that it currently offers for sale

Currency System

Players can now obtain currency which is persistent across all servers and is not wiped on death

Currently the only way that is implemented to earn currency is by selling items to the vendor. In the near future, we will be adding rewards for earning currency by completing events, killing ai, robbing cash registers, leveling up, and more. At this time the currency system in itself is experimental and will be more balanced to the price tables once the additional ways to earn are added in an upcoming patch.

P2P Trading

We have implemented an interface for Player to Player trading
To start a trade with another player, you have to be close to them and hold your activity button (Default E)

NOTE: This is still very experimental, so please report any issues. Be careful with trading with a near-full backpack as you may not receive items displayed.

Hostile System

Shooting at a hostile player while marked as non-hostile will now give you 2 minutes of hostility timer
Shooting a hostile player while inside the safe zone will not give you the 2 min timer
Shooting a hostile player that is inside the safe zone radius, when you are not in the safe zone will give you the 2 minute timer

Map

Fixed an issue with water blocking bullets

Freelook

Freelooking while looking down and moving up will now properly update animations
Added freelook to first person (still experimental)

Helicopter Crash Event

5 Player limit is no longer required to trigger helicopter crash event
Helicopter will now despawn after 10 minutes (was 25 minutes)

Supply Drops

5 Player limit for high-tier loot drops has been disabled

Civilian Bunker Event

5 Player limit is no longer required to trigger a bunker event

Weapons

Removed damage fall-off on VSS Vintorez

Skins

Fixed "G36 | Monster" skin
