Because of the community's passion, dedication, and enthusiasm, a game made in a college dorm by two friends became an indie darling. Your support, engagement, and shared love for Risk of Rain have motivated our journey and made it truly special.

The development team here at Gearbox has worked endlessly to try to live up to the standards of the Risk of Rain community. We see all of your passion and love, and we are here to match it! We are fans of the franchise first and foremost, and work to continue to bring forward the same level of dedication and love that you all deserve.

While we look back on the last decade, let's also look forward to exciting new adventures. The world of Risk of Rain is continually growing and expanding. New challenges await us, and we cannot wait for you to experience what we have in store!

Hey everyone!

We’re excited to announce the second expansion for Risk of Rain 2: Seekers of the Storm! This reveal took place during the Festival of Gup 10-Year Anniversary Livestream.

Today you'll hear from our loremaster Kayla Larson, Associate Art Lead Claire Bian, and Managing Director of Production James Lopez. They will give you a first look at the mysterious False Son, first revealed in our announced trailer [LINK].

We’re also introducing day and night variants of maps for the first time. These give players a new way to experience a familiar location, introducing new flavor, specific props, and new areas to explore!

Seekers of the Storm will bring a lot of new content to Risk of Rain 2, such as new Survivors, new levels, new monsters, and more! Keep an eye out for future Dev Thoughts for more information!

Yesterday during the Festival of Gup we gave viewers exclusive interviews from behind the scenes of making Risk of Rain for the past 10 years! These interviews were conducted for a larger documentary that the team put together to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of Risk of Rain. This documentary offers a unique insight into the franchise's evolution, showcasing the accomplishments that have shaped its success. If you missed the showcase you can watch the documentary here!

Risk of Rain 2 keeps on trucking. After last year's Survivors of the Void expansion added two new survivors and a smattering of new items and stages, Gearbox is following it up with Seekers of the Storm, which will again include "new survivors, new levels, and monsters, and more." The most notable bit of the "more" this time is almost certainly a new villain named The False Son, who is born out of some deep deep Risk of Rain lore I had no idea existed...
