The year 2024 was undoubtedly one of the most transformative and challenging years in the history of Relic Hunters Legend.

With many challenges overcome, bold changes, and the invaluable support of our community, we continued building the game of our dreams. Here’s a complete retrospective of the achievements and key moments we experienced this year:
February: Treasure Maps Public Playtest
We kicked off the year by testing the new Treasure Maps feature with a public playtest.

This event also included item balance updates, unique icons, and new Relics, which were critical for gathering community feedback. The suggestions we received helped fine-tune the experience before the official feature launch.
March: Panzer Joins the Team & Treasure Maps Patch
March saw the arrival of Panzer, the Relic Hunters' mascot, with her unique skill set.

We also released the Treasure Maps, which included adjustments based on playtest feedback, and introduced a new faction: The Cartographers, who help players explore treasure maps.
May: Offline Mode Debuts
Responding to community requests, we began rolling out Offline Mode. Major changes were made to the game’s story progression, allowing players to advance at their own pace without unnecessary restrictions. The campaign’s beginning was reworked, shortening its length and adjusting early Rebel Rank chapters for better accessibility.

We also introduced a new way to unlock Hunters using Hunter Tokens, implemented a revamped character selection screen, and reworked the way to acquire Kindness currency and Ascendant keys, which are now purchasable in the Stranger Shop.
June: New Horizons
We announced our separation from the publisher—a challenging but necessary step to reaffirm our creative vision. Thanks to the community’s support, we overcame industry challenges and continued shaping Relic Hunters Legend’s future with more freedom and focus.
August: Transition to Premium & Local Saves
We revealed the game’s transition from Free-to-Play to a premium model priced at $20 at launch. This decision also allowed us to remove the online-only requirement. Progress is now saved locally with Steam Cloud Save support. Additionally, we introduced save slots for up to five accounts per device, supporting progress both offline and online.
September: Patch 0.11 Brings Core Improvements
The Patch 0.11 delivered the first implementations of announced improvements:

 • New Save System: Play solo offline or multiplayer online, retaining progress in both modes.
 • Cosmetics Overhaul: Conversion of old currencies to Fashion Credits, with all skins available in the Stranger Shop.
 • Revamped Help Others: Now you receive a Buff for staying close to your teammates, leading to extra Kindness rewards at the end of the mission and we removed the Kindness Weekly Cap
October: Patch 0.12 - Super Affixes & New Combo System
The Patch 0.12 introduced:

 • Super Affixes: Boost item power by 30-50%, with higher drop rates in high-level missions.
 • Storage Expansion: Increased storage space for up to 200 items.
 • New Steam Achievements: 18 retroactive achievements, with two reserved for the 1.0 launch.
 • New Combo System: Any Hunter can now perform Combos solo, with detonations varying based on each character’s damage type.
December: Patch 0.13 & New Features
We ended the year with the Patch 0.13, which included:

 • Grandpa Chronos Workshop: A Crafting system for modding items, upgrading item tier and rarity, allowing for more personalized builds.
 • Challenge Mode: High-difficulty missions with T4 materials as rewards, 10 new Major Challenges and 8 new Set Affixes for unique playstyles.

This year, we also participated in several exciting events, including Gamescom LATAM, where Relic Hunters Legend was a finalist at the BIG Festival. We were honored to be part of the DEVGamm Awards, the ANIMAI Festival - Festival Baiano de Animação e Games, proudly taking home awards for Best Game, Best Audio, and Best Art. Oh, and let's not forget our prestigious participation at the TGAGWCAGA 2024—The Game Awards for Games Who Can't Afford the Game Awards!

None of this would have been possible without you, our community. In a year full of challenges, your patience, feedback, and support kept us going. We hope you’ll continue with us in 2025, enjoying the new content we’re preparing and helping us make Relic Hunters Legend even better.

Thank you for being part of this journey. Here’s to an amazing 2025! 🚀

_______________

🚀 What’s New?
🔧 Grandpa Chronos’ Workshop
Grandpa Chronos has set up shop, bringing powerful tools to help you craft and customize your dream loadout! Here’s what you can do:

 • Item Modding: Take control of your gear like never before by adding new affixes to your weapons and equipment. Want more critical hits, elemental damage, or better survivability? Modify your items with specific stats to match your playstyle!
 • Tier Upgrading: Boost your gear’s level and unlock its maximum potential for tougher challenges.
 • Rarity Upgrading: Transform your items into Exotic or Augmented tiers, unlocking their true power and granting access to incredible bonuses.

Take your build to the next level with Grandpa Chronos’ innovative crafting system!
🔥 Challenge Mode
Put your skills to the test with Challenge Mode—a new way to play Missions with higher stakes and new rewards.

Activate Challenge Mode on any mission in the Broken Timeline to:

 • Scale the mission to level 50 for maximum quality loot rolls.
 • Farm T4 materials without being restricted by timegates.
 • Face randomized challenges for unique gameplay experiences, keeping farming exciting and engaging.

This system eliminates the need to grind lower-level missions for high-level rewards and ensures every run feels worthwhile. It also includes:
⚔️ 10 New Major Challenges
Challenge Mode Missions now feature exclusive Major Challenges to ramp up the difficulty and fun:

 • Dry Bottles
 • Decaying Field
 • Min-Maxing
 • Mark of Retribution
 • Empire Strikes
 • Temporal Storm
 • Elite Guards
 • Timekeepers Invasion
 • Kami Invasion
 • Imperial Invasion
🛡️ 8 New Set Affixes
Build unique playstyles with these powerful new item sets:

 • Abapotim Legacy's Set
 • Sharpshooter's Set
 • Survivor's Set
 • Tinker’s Set
 • Space Rogue’s Set
 • Trash Queen’s Set
 • Endless’ Set
 • Skirmisher’s Set
🐞 Fixes & Improvements
We’ve squashed bugs and tweaked mechanics to enhance your gameplay:

 • Fixed bug that was causing Stun and Freeze Duration Reduction to not work properly.
 • Fixed bug that would cause Pinkyy to not become immune to Crowd Control during her Ultimate.
 • Fixed bug that would cause Ace's Scoundrel to not be applied at all.
 • Fixed bug that would cause Raff's Crossfade to not apply the appropriate bonus do Weapon Damage.
 • Fixed one of Healing Mantle's Affix text, it was displaying Fire Damage instead of Increased Healing.
 • Fixed T3 version of the All Attributes Affix, it now grants all Attributes instead of just Agility.
 • Fixed T4 Blitzkrieg's Base Damage to match its T3 version.
 • Camera will no longer lose focus of player character when getting interrupted during a Charge Skill (this happened only when using gamepads).
 • Replaced Shop Token by Fashion Credits at the Stranger's Shop.

 • Fixed bug that would cause Red Chests to have a invisible area around them that would block incoming shots.
 • Path of Kabeer's prices have been increased to match other T4 Weapons (34.000 Bounty). We've also added a T3 version to the shop.
 • Start Mission Dialog now correctly displays to all Party members if it's a Special Mission or a Challenge Mode enabled Mission.
 • Fixed bug that would cause the wrong VO line to be played when players delivered Orbs to Rifts.
🔨 Tweaks & Balancing
• Target Practice Dummies now display Damage Numbers and a DPS Counter at the Shooting Range.
 • Increased Firestarter’s Fire Damage Bonus from 40% to 60%.
 • Added 2 new Feats to the "Rebel 2" Rank Chapter to introduce Grandpa Chronos’ Workshop.
 • Increased material caps for all tiers—T4 Materials are now capped at 999, T3 and below are capped at 99.999.
 • Removed Epic and Rare Catalysts from the Stranger's Shop
 • Special Missions now reward more T4 Materials for greater progression opportunities.
 • Academy Arena Epic is now a Scavenge Mission
🔨 Weapon Rebalance Batch #1
Our goal with this batch of weapon tweaks is to have more viable weapon choices in the endgame, with different damage profiles and feel. We felt Marksman Rifles were exceptionally weak, and both Auto Rifles and Beam Rifles were also subpar.

Weapon Types

 • Auto Rifles: Base Damage increased from 28 to 32 (~14%)
 • Beam Rifles: Base Damage increased from 40 to 50 (25%)
 • Marksman Rifles: Base Damage increased from 33 to 41 (~24%)
 • Marksman Rifles: Precision Damage increased from 100% to 130% (30%)

Tier Adjustments

Several Legendary Weapons had different values between their T2, T3 and T4 versions. Most of them had a stronger T4 version. We've applied the T4 Stats to all other Tiers.

T4 Weapon Bases

 • Starduster: Increased Base Damage from 19 to 24.
 • Tangent: Increased Base Damage from 53 to 123, increased Fire Rate from 3 to 5, increased Precision Damage from 130% to 175%.
 • Derivative: Reduced Base Damage from 49 to 38 (30%), Increased Fire Rate from 7 to 12.6, Increased Magazine Size from 7 to 21.
 • Judgement: Increased Base Damage from 15 to 19, Reduced Reload Time by 25%.
 • TwinkleTwinkle: Reduced Base Damage from 42 to 32. Increased Fire Rate from 12 to 20. Reduced Reload Time by 25%.
 • Bunny: Increased Fire Rate from 7 to 14. Increased Magazine Size from 7 to 12.

 • Radian: Increased Base Damage from 29 to 64, reduced Fire Rate from 12 to 9.
 • Mediator: Increased Base Damage from 49 to 76 (70%), reduced Fire Rate from 7 to 5.
 • Omega Drive: Reduced Burst Size from 3 to 1, Reduced Critical Hit Damage from 154% to 110%, Increased Fire Rate from 2 to 3.
