Early Access: What’s New and Known Issues

We are so excited for everyone to jump into Relic Hunters Legend’s Early Access on
September 25th, 2023!

Here are some game mode highlights for you to experience during Early Access!

 • New Game Mode: In a new game mode Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis, players can earn the best loot in the galaxy by conquering five increasingly challenging missions. Upon completing each mission, either solo or in highly cooperative multiplayer matches with up to three other Hunters, players can receive incredible limited time rewards like ultra-rare Legendary Materials, endgame Gear and Weapons, and lots of Bounty.
 • Friendship Adventures: Through the single player story mission Friendship Adventures, players can delve deeper into the Hunters’ stories and lore. The Early Access Launch debuts the Friendship Adventure “Keytar Hero” to unlock Raff, the team’s engineer musician, and “Ace of Hearts” for Ace, the team’s jetpacking pilot donkey.
 • New Relics: Three new powerful Relic weapons - the Thunder Hammer, The Cross, and The Obsidian Cat - can be uncovered and equipped to deal massive damage.
 • New timeline unlocked: Broken Era, with the new EPIC difficulty. Collect the new super-rare Unique Gear, a new collection of super-powerful gear pieces available on the Broken Era.
 • Players can continue to enjoy unlocking playable Hunters through story mode, and jump into missions either solo, with friends, or with Hunters from around the world to comb the universe for powerful loot and face off against the evil Ducans.

But it doesn’t stop there! We’ll continue to deliver content updates over the course of Early Access, including new Hunters, missions, and story content. We’ll also continue to refine the game based on player feedback.
KNOWN ISSUES
This is an in-development build of Relic Hunters Legend, so you may encounter some issues while you play. Below are some of the known issues you may encounter:

 • Players may get soft-locked when playing Fight Like a Rebel's first Quest, due to their weapons not working properly during this mission. Leaving the Secret Market and reentering fixes this issue.
 • Shift Overlay may display incorrect language in 'Rewards History' section
 • Cannot send Trade invitation if your system datetime isn't at the expected according to international system datetime
 • There are a few lines in some Story Missions that are in English even if you are playing in other languages
 • Sometimes Private/Public Matchmaking options won’t work as expected
 • Scoreboard may not show other players' custom cosmetics setup.
 • Game Mode Announcements are sometimes resetting when the game is paused during a match.
 • Game Mode Audio Announcements sometimes are playing the wrong audio clip.
 • World Map paths sometimes do not represent the actual map node connection state properly.
 • In-game map silhouettes are not visible for remote Players.
 • Completing Special Missions does not always track progress.
 • Using a melee attack as Seven has a small chance of rendering weapons non-functional.
 • Collecting a Legendary weapon does not complete its respective Rebel Feat until the game is restarted.
 • Beam weapons do not work against the Kami King’s vulnerable state.
 • Possible to join Private Missions via ‘Help Others’ feature under certain conditions.
 • ‘Breaking the Silence’ is not accessible during specific circumstances.
 • When Raff uses Keytar Blast during her ultimate, she will swap the Keytar for her previously equipped weapon.
 • Pinkyy’s ‘Short Fuse’ skill won't always work as expected
 • When playing on ‘Energy Field’, 3rd drill will not work if at the South-Central position
 • Sometimes certain Faction Quests mark all MapNodes as relevant to the completion of those Quests.
 • Sometimes enemies are not interrupted when defeated or when crowd-controlled.
 • Certain Item Affixes only have their texts written in English.
 • Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis Greater Timeline map nodes have their graphics misaligned.
 • Opening the SHiFT Overlay while using Steam Deck traps the player in the SHiFT Overlay screen, forcing them to use the Steam Deck Overlay to exit the game.
 • It's currently possible to Level a Relic beyond Level 30. This is currently being addressed and Relics will be locked at the proper level cap. We recommend players to not spend Memories on Relics that are at Level 30 or above.

If you find bugs that aren't on this list, you can report them using the steps below! Thank you so much for being a part of our community, Hunter! ⭐
REPORTING BUGS
In-Game Bug Report Tool

If you encounter any issues while playing, there’s a handy built-in bug-reporting tool!
To access it, hit F3 on your keyboard. This will automatically take a screenshot and attach it to your report, so our team knows where the issue happened.

Next, fill out the Description text box with:

 • What you were doing when the issue arose
 • What the issue (bug) was
 • Where you found it

For instance, if the audio suddenly cut out while playing in the Galyno Canyon stage, you would hit F3 and write:

“While playing in the Galyno Canyon stage with my party, the sound of the weapons disappeared right after I switched weapons and didn’t come back”.

Please feel free to report any bugs you encounter, no matter how simple they may seem. Each bug report is valuable information for our team and helps us make Relic Hunters Legend even better!

We are beyond excited to have Relic Hunters Legend in Early Access on September 25th. Join our Community to meet, talk, and play with other Hunters and prepare for your SUPER AWESOME adventures hunting relics and taking down the Ducans!

Overview of Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis

*This is a planned feature for Early Access.

Hey Hunters! We have some EXCITING news for you!

Early Access is quickly approaching, and what better way to celebrate that than with a WEEKLY ACTIVITY!

You'll be able to embark on weekly missions with randomized challenges and awesome loot in Relic Hunters Legend!
Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis
The Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis is one of the biggest endgame features in Relic Hunters Legend. In this WEEKLY activity, you'll receive the best loot this galaxy has ever seen by conquering increasingly challenging missions.

As you start the activity, you'll enter arenas with different challenges that progressively become more difficult. You'll have 5 missions to conquer in this game mode, and each mission will only unlock after you've successfully completed the previous challenge.

You'll choose a Hunter to undertake a mission, but choose wisely because you can’t choose the same Hunter twice! Once you beat a stage with a certain hunter, you won't be able to select them for the upcoming missions, so it's essential to manage your resources and strategize about who is the best Hunter to use in each given challenge.
The Loot
How fun would this weekly activity be without some sweet, sweet loot! As you progress in the Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis you will be rewarded with some of the best loot the galaxy has ever seen!

Upon completing each mission, you'll receive a chest with incredible rewards, and the deeper you go into the Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis the stronger the loot will be.

But remember: you can only get these loot drops ONCE a week!

Each Floor has a Chest that can be looted once per week (separated for Regular and Greater Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis). These Chests can contain:

 1. Legendary Materials
 2. Endgame Gears and Weapons
 3. A lot of Bounty
Missions
The mission selection and game modes are randomized every week, and you can play the Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis solo or with a party. However, be aware that each mission encourages the use of different builds, strategies, and Hunters. So, it's best to team up with friends to secure your victory!

You can reset any completed activity as many times as you want to test new strategies, but the rewards you've already obtained won't reappear until the next weekly rotation. Also, be aware: the reset will be applied to ALL the Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis missions completed, so think carefully about how to use this feature!

There are two ways for players to group up and take on Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis Activities:

Regular Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis: for up to 2 players
Greater Asteroid Dungeon Nemesis: for up to 4 players

Each activity consists of 5 missions and is divided into different Tiers, as follows:

 • Tier 1: Missions 1 and 2, considered the easiest
 • Tier 2: Missions 3, 4, and 5, which are significantly more difficult

This activity is not for the faint of heart, and if you love a good challenge and want to push your skills to the max, make sure to gather your crew and wishlist Relic Hunters Legend today for our Early Access on September 25th!

Relic Hunters Legend: Relic Overview!

Okay Hunters, POP-QUIZ TIME!!

If you’re out traveling the Galaxy and need some extra power to take down some WICKED Ducan baddies, what is a must-have item?

The answer: RELICS!

If you’re new to Hunting and Relics and being, well, a Relic Hunter, you might not know exactly why these are good to have equipped. That’s why we have this handy-dandy breakdown of what Relics are and how you get them.
What is a Relic
Relics are a special type of Gear with their own unique slot in the Backpack and can be leveled up with XP to become more powerful and unlock new affixes.

There are different types of Relics out there in the Galaxy and each one has its own unique power advantages and affixes. You can collect them all and switch them out depending on what evil forces you’re going up against.

Relics can only be acquired by crafting them using a special consumable item called a “Relic Blueprint.” Each Relic Blueprint has a riddle hinting where the player can drop the Relic Pieces, and it’s usually 3 unique Relic Pieces + a few Materials.
How Relic Works
Power doesn’t come easy, and from obtaining a Relic to then leveling will take some time and diligent work, but the power you’ll wield through it is truly worth the effort it takes to get a Relic to max level.
Levels and Progression

Much like Hunter levels, Relic levels progress as you complete missions and objectives. All XP earned by the Hunter in Missions is also earned by the currently equipped Relic. Your Relic will also continue to gain XP even if your Hunter is level-capped. All Relics are level-capped at 30.

Another way to level up Relics is by using Memories! Right-clicking the Relic will open its details screen, and it can be leveled up with Memories there. It’s important to keep in mind that if you use a Memory directly from your inventory, only your Hunter will gain XP – even if they have a Relic equipped.
Affixes and Power
By leveling your Relic, you’ll get super cool bonuses, making your Hunter even more POWERFUL! This is extremely helpful while you are duck-punching your way to save the Galaxy!

Affixes help boost the power level of your Relic! Each Relic has three unique affixes that are unlocked and grow in power as the Relic levels up.

The first affix is already unlocked from level 1, the second is unlocked at level 15, and the third is unlocked at level 30.
Relic affixes have a “min” and a “max” value. Affixes start at the “min” value at Level 1 and increase with every level, reaching the “max” value at Level 30.

Example:

The Scanner

1. [Level 1] Every 10 seconds, create an area that gives +(10-30%) Weapon Damage
2. [Level 15] Reload Speed inside the area increased by +(15-40%)
3. [Level 30] Enemies inside the area have their Resistance reduced by 20%
Relic Hunt
New to Relic Hunters Legend is a unique Adventure called Relic Hunt! During a Relic Hunt players will be rewarded with a Relic Blueprint that can be used to craft a Relic.

Now, like most Hunts, these adventures are not for the faint of heart and take significant effort to accomplish. They require the player to venture out into the Galaxy looking for hidden puzzles that will trigger the adventure to start. Sometimes (although rarely) a Relic Hunt will be triggered by finding a unique key item in a chest.

These puzzles are not easy to find, so always look for anything that seems odd or areas you have yet to explore because you never know what is hiding around every corner.

After you complete the puzzle and talk to some interesting characters in-game, you will be rewarded with a unique blueprint that lists the Relic parts required to craft a specific Relic.

Relic parts and materials can be found while playing Missions, defeating mobs, and taking down Champions.

So there you have it, Hunters! A nifty little guide to Relics. If you were looking for exact locations, we aren’t the ones to spoil the fun, but you can always join our Discord server and pair up with other Hunters to search for Relics once Relic Hunters Legend goes into Early Access on September 25th!
The Road to Update 1.0
Here at Rogue Snail, we are excited to share that we’re already busy crafting even more content releasing in the 1.0 update! Our plans include additional Hunters joining the roster of playable characters, the EPIC conclusion to the story, and more! These additions have been in development for a while, and we’re putting in extra effort to make sure they’re where we want them before they become part of the game.

Throughout the Early Access period, we’ll be gathering feedback through surveys, community discussions, player data, and other avenues to make informed decisions on future content. This information will be important in improving features and adding new features to make Relic Hunters Legend the best game in the Galaxy!

We appreciate everyone who has joined our journey in making Relic Hunters Legend something special. It has been a long time in the making, and we are working diligently to grow and improve this universe for all.
Early Access FAQ
Why Early Access?
Relic Hunters Legend would not be the game it is today without the feedback and support of our community. With Early Access, we can gather even more crucial feedback to help improve the game even more, and continue to grow the amazing community that has supported us through the years.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

Our focus is to make sure that development has the time it needs to produce the best experience of the game possible. We have a lot planned for the full release, and will continue to add content in the coming months!

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

The full version of Relic Hunters Legend will feature additional Hunters, the EPIC conclusion to the story, and more!

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

Relic Hunters Legend goes into Early Access with the first two Acts to explore, a ton of loot and gear to collect, five unlockable Hunters to play, and eight different types of missions to play with friends or other players across the Galaxy. It’s a robust introduction to the world we are developing, and a great jumping off point for the content we’ll be adding further into development.

How are you planning on involving the community in your development process?

We’ve always had a community-focus in the development of Relic Hunters Legend. We believe that seeing how players respond to the game and interact with other community members will help us make the best version of the game possible. We have done various Closed Betas with our Founders on Discord and received a ton of great feedback around those. It’s a conversation we’re continuing to keep open!

We are collecting feedback and suggestions through the Steam Discussion forums, as well as our Relic Hunters Universe Discord Server.
