I'm excited to share some news regarding our upcoming major expansion coming late January! Soundscape Universe is a massive expansion to Soundscape VR that includes features such as public and private social VR worlds, a multiplayer rhythm game, expanded venues, a brand-new UI, and music collaborations with leading artists. I'm pleased to announce Soundscape Universe is nearly ready to go, and we’ll be making this free update available worldwide.
After beginning as a Burning Man art installation, Soundscape VR has evolved into a 24/7 VR music festival that lets you meet up with friends and other music lovers across the globe. You can party with your friends in gorgeous audio-reactive VR music venues to the sound of your own playlist, join a virtual concert from your favorite artist, or challenge your friends to a contest of coordination and rhythm.
In the new multiplayer setting, you can choose between listening to special sets from major artists delivered in partnership with Soundscape, user-created mixes and synchronized playlists hosted by curators, or your own music simultaneously in a virtual silent disco. Also included is an all-new multiplayer rhythm game where you can shoot and slice your way through the interactive venues to your favorite songs, competing against up to 8 players at a time to see who can cause the most destruction and get the highest score. There are no beatmaps to be made, no limited songs to choose from - you choose the music you compete to, from Beethoven to Skrillex - Soundscape VR handles the rest.
