The first update for ShockRods is here! Those taking to the arena today will find, 3 new fully customisable ShockRods to frag your enemies in style, or for the players more into their scenery rather than flashy cars, the all-new map Stormdrain will support Death Match, Team Death Match and Golden ram game modes!

Some attention has also been given to improve the controller experience that should go some way to even the playing field. The game now features a degree of aim assist for those who prefer to lay back while they game, along with full button re-mapping to try and gain a competitive edge or just game the way they wish!

You will also notice some UI and quality of life updates including, enhanced visual effects and the current game mode will now be shown on the scoreboard. On the gameplay front, pickups will gravitate towards your vehicle, there is improved AI behaviour and there are improvements to matchmaking for online play.

We hope you have enjoyed the recent announcements showing off what we have under the hood of ShockRods, with the new maps and some insight into how ShockRods was developed.

We had previously announced that ShockRods will no longer be launching in May as an Early Access title but instead would be launching in Fall 2019 as a full release title. Not only are we still on track for the launch date, we have also managed to up the scope of what will be included in the full release. These changes in our launch strategy have resulted in us having to make some changes to the pricing model to bring these two things into line. We originally intended to launch on Early Access at £14.99 / $19.99 / €19.99 with possible extra purchasable content available post-launch. However, we have now adopted a strategy of a one-off payment of $24.99 / £19.49 / €20.99 for all the ShockRods content, with all planned future content being free.



Now that we have updated you on improvements to the game, new maps and how the game has been developed, what next? Well, our next update will confirm our localisation plans - the languages the game (and the Steam page) will support. After that, we have one last MAJOR and very exciting update that we hope to be able to announce in early September.
