Update 0.8.2

New cosmetics store
Did you ever miss out on a cosmetic item that you really wanted to get? Do you have too many quarks but nothing to spend them on? The new store is made for you!

Starting from this update, we're introducing the Store screen, from which you'll be able to see a selection of daily items and special offers that refresh regularly.

Most of the weapon and character skins we've added there are brand-new, although you may also find some past exclusives making a comeback as well!

New map: Museum
It's time for a brand-new map, based on a totally new environment: Museum!

Why go to a boring old building to study natural history with stuffed animals when you can travel in time to see for yourself? Museums like these have seen their visitors drop drastically since the popularization of time tourism, and so have had to turn to other modes of financing, like leasing out their great hall to Quantum League matches for instance!

This release of Museum is a 2v2 domination map. Coordinate with your teammate to maintain control of the map's 5 points, and learn to dominate the wide-open spaces and long lines of sight afforded by this grand hall style of architecture.

The more acrobatic athletes will be able to find a safe route to most locations of the map through the suspended plesiosaur fossils that dominate the room.

Museum will be available in the 2v2 Casual queue, and can also be found in the Custom match list to try it out with different variables.

Let us know if you're enjoying this new level, this will help us fine-tune its 1v1 and capture versions.

New Reward Track up!
We've activated a brand-new reward track with new skins to unlock! We're making it a bit longer than the previous ones, both in terms of levels to unlock and the time you have to unlock them. Additionally, we're trying out a thing where we make the first few levels easier to get, in order to give new players something to look forward to even if they start playing with the reward track already underway.

New Community Organized Tournaments
We’re back with community organized tournaments! This time our amazing players have set up a 1v1 league that will lead up to a Quantum Championship. Read more about it here.

The winners will compete for cash prizes & in-game goodies! Will you be one of the winners?

IGL - Winter Circuit
We’re up for a new season in the Indy Gaming League Winter Circuit. You can participate for some amazing in-game skins.

The registration officially opens for both 1v1 and 2v2 on November 11th so get ready to grab your teammates & sign up as soon as you can!

Quantum League Halloween Update 0.8.1.1 👻

Halloween Skins!

BOO! For a limited time, you’ll be able to view and unlock six legendary Halloween skins, one for each Athlete. Get them before they vanish back into the night, one week from now!

Single Player practice in Custom Match
We’re happy to also deliver a highly upvoted suggestion in this minor update: the ability to enter a level by yourselves in a custom match to practice there.

To access this, just enter the Custom Match screen without being in a party and select “Single Player” in the “Player Setup” setting.

All levels you enter this way will have the same ruleset and objectives as those you encounter in the multiplayer queues. Time Loops are active too, so you can practice setting up the next meta-breaking death strat as much as you want! (just kidding 🎃)

However, as this mode of play lacks other players, you will see some differences in the way matches begin and end. Namely, the intro and outro sequences will be shorter since we’ve had to skip all places where other players would have been featured.

Update 0.8.1

Weapon Buttstrokes
Starting from this update, you'll have a new tool at your disposal in those last-second plays, where your primary and secondary weapons have both been spent: just bash your opponent on the noggin' with the butt of your gun!

Buttstrokes can be triggered from any character posture with any equipped weapon at the press of a button (V by default). They interrupt reloads & swaps and apply 25 points of damage to the first clone caught in the effect area. After having used it, you will need to wait a short cooldown period before being able to trigger it again.

We are introducing this feature mainly to avoid uneasy standoffs where both players are waiting on their weapons to become available with nothing to do, which is a not-so-fun moment that we've seen happens pretty often. This "last-resort" context has also informed the way we've balanced it - make sure you let us know how you feel about this new addition!

Chat is back
We're cautiously bringing full chat back to the game, working in the same way as it was before Early Access. Press Enter (by default) to open the chatbox and type away, to your team or everyone in the match.

We cannot stress enough how we'd really like everyone to be civil and chill when talking to other players through this feature! If you are the victim of abusive chat, please make sure to report the player from the post-match button. Alternatively, you can still disable chat from the options menu if it's something you'd rather not interact with.

Quantum Arena Night - Alt version
We're introducing an alternate version of the classic Quantum Arena map to differentiate the day and night versions more. The alt version is still Point Capture, but features different health pack & explosive barrel placement, and adds jump pads for a different, more aerial flow.
You will be able to find the alt version in the 1v1 Casual rotation, and custom match. We'll be adding more variations of other levels in the coming updates.

New Reward Track up!
We've activated a brand-new reward track with new skins to unlock! You may notice that it is definitely not spooky nor related to any possible Cucurbita-related celebration forthcoming in the near future 👀.

Manual Reload option
As per a highly-upvoted suggestion, we are now letting you choose whether your character reloads automatically when the charger is empty.
You will find this option (off by default) in the "Gameplay" section of the options screen.

Hotfix!

Jump and Gravity strengths tweaked
We’re pretty happy with the movement overhaul introduced in the previous update, but after careful consideration, we wanted to scale back some of the changes to retain a bit of the previous feel.
  • Gravity strength lowered by 31%, Jump strength lowered by 23% - this should recover some of the aerial play that was lost in the previous update.
  • Movement speed cap raised by 22%.
Fix to Overhead Indicators delayed appearance
In the previous update, we had bumped the time it took for the overhead indicators from 0 to 0.25s, but some of you reported that it was taking much longer than that in some cases.

Thanks to those reports, we found out that the timer was running on in-game time and thus was being affected by slowmo. The timer is now running in “real” time.
