Warsim 1.3.4 (Monster Levelling) + Slumbox Announcement + More!
[p]Hey guys, it's been a little minute but I've had an insane amount of things going on recently and wanted to make todays update a special one. So much is happening all at once but to summarise... New Warsim Update, We're on the frontpage of Steam, I'm announcing my new game, and its Kickstarter Campaign, and we're in a bundle on Steam with the legendary Dwarf Fortress![/p][p][/p]
[/p][p]A new opponent arrives, with our new HP system it chooses from a few states that defines how their health generates in based on the stats they have.[/p][p]

[/p][p]After a second win we get our first level up! And yes it can get a little OP if you get past the first few levels and make your monster super strong but... isn't that what it's all about. Also I haven't tested how much damage a high level monster with the highest upgrade tier monster harnesses can do in a real battle but I'm sure I'll see some wild screenshots after this update[/p][p]

[/p][p]Late last year I was able to finally get properly in touch with the legends at Kitfox Games. I'd heard of them for a long time with their publishing of Dwarf Fortress, Caves of Qud and in-house development of other cool games but I never thought I'd meet them.[/p][p]I had the pleasure of a long video call with the big boss lady and ended up speaking to several other members of staff and I'm honestly in love with them as a studio, it's evident to me that they are exactly the type of studio we need more of in the industry. Really sweet people, indie to a T, and keen to make good games.[/p][p]We agreed to do a bundle collaboration and honestly now I can say my dreams have come true, starting back in 2015 with Warsim, DF was 100% a huge inspiration and something that astounded me for it's long dev cycle and depth.[/p][p]Absolute pleasure to be bundled with such a powerful game![/p][p]Diolch to Kitfox What next?[p]Well my life is insane, I was able to put a downpayment on a new house thanks to Warsim, and now I'm working on Slumbox with my team under my new game company Worldviper Studios and preparing for a new season of gigs and tours with my band Dim Parcio (who are also in Slumbox ːdealwithitː)[/p][p]I will continue to keep Warsim going in some capacity, I've been saying it for years but it's just not possible for me to truly drop this game, I love it too much![/p][p][/p][p]If you'd like to keep up with the new stuff going on, I've made new socials for Worldviper here[/p]
The Update
[p]So monsters have been a thing for a long time, a feature I love loads. There are 10's of thousands of monsters with their parts defining how they fight. You can fight up to 60 different monster trainers with unique events in your monster pit and get up to all sorts with them. There are a few things I wanted to improve though... Monsters getting stronger for winning lots (like XP), and a rework of the monster HP system which would almost completely randomise the monsters HP out of it max HP each fight.[/p][p]Now monsters level every 100xp and gain xp from eating or killing a rival monster, your trainers also skill them up each year.[/p][p][/p][h3]MONSTER LEVELLING (11 Features)[/h3][p]* Removed 20 strength cap for monsters[/p][p]* Added +5xp gain when feeding a monster[/p][p]* Added +50xp gain when a monster wins a fight[/p][p]* Added monster level up screen[/p][p]* Halved average monster HP[/p][p]* Added chance monster spawns with randomised hp[/p][p]* Added chance monster spawns with 1-25% bonus random hp[/p][p]* Added chance monster spawns with 25% bonus hp[/p][p]* Added chance monster spawns with 50% of his hp randomised[/p][p]* Added chance monster spawns with 50% bonus hp[/p][p]* Fixed monster pit challengers not saved with the game[/p][p][/p][p]Here's my monster trainer sorting us out![/p][p]Slumbox Announcement

By mid 2023 I started seriously cooking up my next concept and founded my new game studio Worldviper Studios. [/p][p]By Jan 2024 the bones began being worked on slowly and part time, in 2025 it started growing even more and our small team expanded. Now I'm trying to raise the funds to bring together a team fully capable of building this new beast![/p][p]What is Slumbox you might ask?[/p][p]It's a Cyberpunk LifeSim RPG, live your life in an insane city full of fighting factions, evil corporations, corrupt cops, and 1000s of people trying to get on with their lives. Work a 9-5 and play video games on your home console, or hit the Wastelands outside the city and try to survive. I've always loved RPGs so much that I tried to shoehorn as many rpg features into Warsim as possible.
