But please do let us know if you encounter any new bugs as a result of this update! [/p][p][/p][p]In lieu of a proper fix list, I thought you might enjoy seeing a glimpse into that process through Brad's own internal patch notes.[/p][p]
[/p][p][/p]
Happy Birthday Fancy Pants Man!
[p]
I've been playing these games for 20 years, and I haven't grown tired of them yet. Publishing this series is a role I don't take the role lightly. It's a dream come true to represent what I see as the most iconic Flash games of all time. We have big plans for the future of Fancy Pants Man![/p][p]

20th ANNIVERSARY
[p]On this day, 20 years ago, Fancy Pants Adventures was introduced to the world![/p][p]I wanted to do the best I could to mark the occasion. Thank you for all the support you've given, and especially for your patience over the last couple years.[/p][p]Brad has been in the trenches the last few years improving upon his foundations, and the possibilities have never felt greater for Fancy Pants! Today we are proud to announce - alongside plans to expand upon Super and deliver on the Classic Pack - the next big thing for the Fancy Pants Franchise...[/p][p][/p]
The Fancy Pants Adventures Online
[p][/p][p][dynamiclink][/dynamiclink]I want to be clear, this is very much a WIP page! The priority now will be remastering World 3 for the Classic Pack. But we couldn't resist sharing these plans for the future for The Fancy Pants Adventures![/p][p][/p]
Putting the Super back in Super Fancy Pants Adventures
[p]This may feel like a minor update, but it's been a Herculean effort from Brad to get everything running smoothly again on a nearly 9 year old game. Back when it released, Flash was still being supported by Adobe! You can imagine how some stability and performance would be lost over time. As Brad recently summed up, [/p]I had to update almost everything to get Super FPA working[p]And that's putting it lightly... Every new fix seemed to break something else. Visual bugs emerged ALL over. Random animations were playing at triple speed. Assets needed new caching methods. There was a cascade of changes that I don't think even Brad initially intended to tackle.[/p][p][/p][p]I recently had a call with Brad, where he gave some insight into how he's restructured both Super and the Classic Pack. This should open up new possibilities for Super, simplify remastering World 3 for the Classic Pack, and opens up incredible new possibilities for the franchise![/p][p][/p][previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]
UPDATES
- [p]Integration of the Classic Pack's improved level loading (MUCH faster!!) [/p]
- [p]New SteamInput implementation to allow for much wider gamepad support options[/p]
- [p]Upgrade to 4k level assets[/p]
- [p]Massive optimizations for improved performance[/p]
- [p]Things should feel even more smooth and responsive than before![/p]
- [p]Hat, pants textures and other objects moved to GPU rendering[/p]
- [p]Overall asset loading improvements, including dynamic sprite packing[/p]
- [p]Solid color backgrounds are not rendered as triangulated polygon meshes, rather than wasting space in giant spritesheets[/p]
- [p]Uncapped FPS!![/p]
- [p]Probably other things???[/p]
Iām pretty confident the beta is at least more stable than retail right now.[p]
But please do let us know if you encounter any new bugs as a result of this update! [/p][p][/p][p]In lieu of a proper fix list, I thought you might enjoy seeing a glimpse into that process through Brad's own internal patch notes.[/p][p]
