Patch notes 23 August 2020

Today we made the following changes:
  • Added an optimization so that characters update on every other frame while standing still. If the frame rate ever drops below 20, they will also update on every other frame while walking. This optimization should greatly improve performance on world maps where large numbers of enemies tend to spawn.
  • Fixed the transition from the World Map to Candle and Sword headquarters
  • Rubble map now loads correctly after the betrayal event at Candle and Sword

Patch notes 19 August 2020

Today we uploaded patches for the following:
  • Necropolis battle now has fewer starting enemy lances. We added spawn points and strategic capture points.
  • Fixed cutscene and dialog at Halgdalir Outpost.
  • NPCs now load into Halgdalir when arriving there via the world gate. Previously, the city had been empty when arriving via world gate.
  • NPCs and day/night variant levels now get unloaded from Halgdalir when returning to the Shadowlands through the world gate.
  • Spawn points can now have a negative delay, reducing the time until their first activation.

Yesterday and today we uploaded some patches for the following items:
  • Set up Chinese localization to use the Japanese UI.
  • Added tavern and NPCs, including two vendors, to Halgdalir.
  • Japanese localization updates.

Patch notes 15 August 2020

Yesterday and today we uploaded a couple of small patches. These are the items we fixed:
  • Fixed a problem with level-up cards. The last few cards in a deck could sometimes appear after you had already selected them. This could cause a crash and at least would not give you the card you selected, and would lead to a smaller number of cards available at the next level-up. This has been fixed and now you can only take cards that you have not yet picked.
  • Fixed broken dialog and cutscene in South Point.
  • Localization updates.

Patch notes 13 August 2020

Today's patch added the following:
  • Added treasure chests that you can pick up on the battlefield. Most of these so far contain runes that have been in short supply for crafting fairies, wolves, and dragons.
  • Hopefully fixed the crash when illusionists attack. Too many illusionists attacking causes a large number of popups for damage, health bars, and status effects. I have limited the maximum number of effects that can be drawn on the screen and I have staggered when they will pop up. This should solve the problem.
  • Added treasure chests, strategic points, and spawn points to several maps. The locations are slightly randomized to make the battles a little different each time.
  • Reduced the starting size of undead armies to balance their spawn points and prevent the battles from becoming too long.
  • Localization updates.


After this, I will continue working on bugs and requested features, fixing the localization system where it still uses English despite Japanese being available, and adding shops and NPCs to the later towns.
