Patch notes 12 August 2020

Today we uploaded a patch that adds spawn points to the game. Right now there is one spawn point in the Abandoned Mine map where you fight skeletons. The addition of a spawn point makes the battle potentially much, much longer. I will need to reduce the size of skeleton armies and other armies that use spawn points in order to account for the extra lances that will show up during battle.

We also fixed a few other problems that became apparent while implementing spawn points. Damage popups and health bars had disappeared from obstacles on the battlefield, for example, and we fixed those.

Now that there is a working example of both strategic capture points and spawn points, we have the opportunity to add a lot of variety to the battles. We will be rolling out updated and varied battle maps in the near future. We also need to fix illusionist attacks, which apparently can still crash the game. And we need to fix a few known bugs related to spawn points, such as new enemy lances not having their team's coat of arms. And we are working on the backlog of minor bugs and desired features as we have time. For now, the big long-term task we will be working on is adding shops and NPCs to all of the late-game towns, including those in Yamatai and the Northern Shores.

We hope to have another update ready in the next day or two.

Patch notes 10 August 2020

Today we made the following changes:
  • Fixed enemy retreating. The enemy had been retreating far too often and sometimes erratically. Retreat behavior is now operating as intended. Also, different enemy armies have a new courage value that affects how much damage a lance must take in a turn before retreating.
  • Added functionality for capturable strategic locations on the map. So far there is one instance of such a location that has a 50% chance of spawning on the farm battle map. More strategic locations to come. Also, this opens the door to more complicated boss fights, dungeons, and other battles.
  • Adjusted size and speed of loot windows scaled with monitor resolution.
  • New particle effects and sound effects to play when capturing strategic locations during battle.
  • Localization updates.

Today we added the following:
  • Switched positions of OK and Cancel buttons in the Change Class menu.
  • Added NPC and dialog to the mosque in Shali Oasis.
  • Added NPCs, dialog, and shop to the Halgdalir day map.

Patch notes 5 August 2020

Today we uploaded patches for the following:
  • Enemies now fall back when taking severe damage.
  • Consistent sizes for HP bars that appear with offhand attacks and over gates and other obstacles.
  • Added enchantment vendor to Shali Oasis.
  • Moved enchanter's workshop in Shali Oasis, added mosque in previous location.
  • Size of dialog popups scales with screen resolution.
  • Added localizations

Patch notes 4 August 2020

Today we uploaded a patch for the following items:
  • Fixed bug that allowed infinite attacks if an off-hand weapon was equipped with no main-hand weapon.
  • Adjusted positioning of dialog popups, hit point bars, and experience point bars based on screen resolution.
  • Adjusted size of hit point bars and experience point bars based on screen resolution.
  • Length of hit point bars and experience point bars now grows logarithmically in relation to HP/XP. HP/XP bars had grown extremely long with some high-level characters.
  • Localized "Recipes" text in the crafting menu.
  • Now both sides of the gate open as you exit from Sunrise Outpost.
