By popular request: seeing character sheet during level-up, character notes

So a lot of you have been wanting to make better decisions when selecting your cards. You've requested the ability to take notes on your characters so you can remember what you wanted them to specialize in. And you want to see the character sheet when you're selecting cards. And today I finally got around to implementing that.

Everything is basically working, but I did find some quirks in the character notes. I want the arrow keys to move the cursor inside the text box, but right now the arrow keys navigate from one button to another. I'll try to fix that soon. Also, I want the enter key to type a line break inside the text box. That's turning out to be more complicated than expected. (Why can't everything be as easy as Python?) So it's not perfect yet, but it is working well enough to let you try it out.

As always, if you find any bugs, please let me know right away. Thank you everyone for playing Himeko Sutori and following these updates. I'll try to have more ready for you very soon.

Wolf Overhaul

Hi everyone! We just uploaded a new patch today. The big news is that wolves have been overhauled. They should have a lot more longevity in the game now. We've introduced two new classes--Wolf Alpha and Wolf Dreamwalker--and a bunch of new level-up cards, adding new reactions and abilities.

If you'd like to try out the new classes with the wolves already in your party, you'll need to reset them with a new console command we just added. (Don't worry. This only resets their level-up deck with the new cards. It won't affect their other stats.) Open the console with ~ or F1, type in "ce ResetWolves" and press enter. That should give all the wolves in your party a fresh deck of level-up cards and you'll now be able to unlock the new classes.

We also noticed that some dragon classes were not giving hit points on level-up. We fixed that. And we made some other minor tweaks to the game.

Please let us know if you run into any bugs in the new content and as always we'll try to fix them as fast as possible. Thanks for playing!

Zombies and Bug Fixes

There are now zombies in the game, known as "corpse puppets" in-world, with original portraits and sprite sheets, and unique reaction abilities that open up lots of new strategic options. We look forward to hearing how you counter these enemies or use them in your own armies. Also, we added a new quest to move the story along and we fixed bugs, some of them pretty big.

And here's a short summary of most of the big stuff we worked on:
  • Added corpse puppets with new sprite sheets, portraits, character class, and reaction abilities.
  • Added corpse puppets to necromancer encounters.
  • Added corpse puppet recipes to necromancer loot drops and House of Life vendors.
  • Fixed infinite-loop bug that would hang the game in some cases where the AI couldn't decide where to move.
  • Added new building interior to South Point Crossing in the Shadowlands, where you'll find the next step in an ongoing quest.
  • Fixed bug that would break the game if you went from battle setup to lance setup then back to battle setup.
  • Fixed bug that would allow a lance to move through an enemy lance.
  • Shifted skeleton sprite sheet left and right attack frames that didn't line up with weapon sprite sheets.
  • Added combat speech for skeletons.
