Desaturation Patch Notes for 1.0.9

Hello Splatians! We're happy to announce that a big quality of live patch that adds some neat things and fixes some stupid bugs is now a thing.

Here's what's changed:

  • New mechanic: S.L.I.M.E. will not kill you if some of your colors match theirs.
  • The Power Generator in S.P.A.R.K. is now cycling its colors to keep being a challenge.
  • Added overlays to the map for the pipeline, crystals and relic quests when you unlock them.
  • Barrels now actually have rolling sound and collision sound.
  • Moving platforms also have sound effects when they are moving.
  • Fixed environmental sounds in most levels, especially underground.
  • Fixed Eaden's Store Item Slots becoming non-interractable after being cancelled
  • The Status screen unlocks earlier
  • Added missing collision in Modular Factory Area
  • Added extra cables to Copper Tunnel and Dwellings
  • Fixed achievements: Splatterhouse, Water Cooler, Power On, Crystals Of Essence
  • The Laser traps in Dwellings will now visibly break when activated.
  • Fixed potential soft-locks in some places.

Lord Ashen broke his boundaries one more time. While Peter was chilling and working, Lord Ashen channeled its soul into his quantumGG Steam Deck Mental Health Management Device made by one of the best and most influential teams in quantum labs at the time - the legendary VALVE team!
Peter had to summon the Splatians there however, because Lord Ashen was threatening everyone with its annoying tricks! Ranina isn't happy, too, while Sparkle still researches the Rainbow Powder...

[h2]Desaturation is now verified on Steam Deck![/h2]

The default settings are optimized for balanced experience.
This is a 10+ hours game.

If you want to trade more framerate for less time on battery, you can manually clock your GPU to 1.4GHz and above. For even more framerate but less quality, set In-game resolution to 848×480, quality to Marketing Mode and use Steam Deck's FSR. We also recommend keeping Tessellation to OFF on Steam Deck - while it makes the bricks and stones really appealing, this thing needs desktop class Nvidia dedicated GPU. We are also aware that some maps may not perform well, but in the upcoming weeks these places will also be fixed. (Yes, quantum station).

[h3]Patch 1.0.8 contains fixes mostly related to optimization.[/h3]
  • Underground trains no more cast super precise shadows.
  • Most underground stations and some lights in tunnels were unnecessarily high quality.
  • Marketing Mode fully disables the FSP Shaders now, may run faster on some cards
  • Terrain shaders were slightly touched to better work on modern AMD GPUs.
  • Fixed a potential soft-lock in Power Management (Atom Hat related)
  • S.L.I.M.E. will no longer insta-kill you if you share color with them!

Hello Splatians. This small patch fixes some minor bugs in quantum labs inc.

  1. Fixed a bug where you cannot interact with the scanner blueprint in Modular Factory area
  2. Also fixed the conveyor sometimes not dropping SecureScan Cores.
  3. Larry will no longer reverse the player controls in Power Management

Desaturation Patch Notes for 1.0.6

Hello Splatians. Community member KhaledZakaria discovered a soft-lock down there in the Copper Tunnel. Silly me, clipping a train into a holo-force-field is a big recipe for disaster and save-pocalypse. This one is now fixed!

Other fixes:

  1. Fixed the player naming screen in the first level so you don't need to hold X while typing
  2. Added text that explains you need to hold pressed the Delete Save button
  3. Added some missing collisions in Forest Tunnel
  4. Added a lava pit to hint a puzzle in the Library Tunnel.
  5. Fixed potential soft-lock in the Corrupted Castle.
  6. Added some light to highlight the yellow pipe in Dwellings area
  7. Other minor improvements (e.g. models, sounds & similar)
  8. Fixed Essence Selection menu in the Realm Of The Souls.

Silly me, silly me! An explosive canister too close to a save checkpoint is definitely a recipe for save-file-apocalypse...

Anyways, this is now fixed!
