Maintenance - Authorization server
On the 26th of March 2024, starting from 23:59 CET, the my.games launcher authorization server will not be available for 3 hour due to a planned maintenance.

If you will already be logged into the game, you should not be affected by this technical break.
Please note – that the maintenance can be extended beyond the above mentioned timeframe.
Up-to-date server status is always available on our Discord server and Twitter.

Issues with launcher password change and purchase currency

Operators,

Following a recent server migration, we have encountered some issues that are currently affecting the normal operation of our game store and launcher.

The launcher password change feature is temporarily unavailable due to technical issues, please be patient as we are working to restore this as soon as possible. There is also a bug preventing the purchase of the Battle Pass, both in-game and on the worldwar3.com website.

Please DO NOT attempt to purchase currency, Battle Passes, or change the password in the launcher until further notice! Purchasing shop ITEMS works as usual! We apologise for any inconvenience.

For those players who have already experienced these issues, we recommend you to contact #technical_support channel in our Discord https://discord.gg/dFXRrtTn.

We assure you that you will soon be rewarded with all of your in-game currency that you bought.

We appreciate your patience and support and will keep you informed of any changes!

🛠 Important Notice: Maintenance and milestone update!

Operators, we would like to inform you of an upcoming major maintenance that will happen on March 12.
First, current status update:
The transfer of the entire project infrastructure, including code, assets, licenses and development servers, has been completed by our development team. During this process, we've already started working on improving the overall performance of the game and our testing environment. We are currently deep into code reviews, both client-side and server-side.

The only remaining task is the migration of the live servers, which will take place on Tuesday March 12 and may take up to 24 hours. We will complete the migration as quickly as possible and will provide you with updates throughout the process to ensure a seamless transition.

This maintenance will complete the project transfer itself, but the real work is just beginning.
We are committed to improving the game based on your feedback. We will continue to work on technical improvements to the game and hope that players will see the results of our work in the near future.

We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience this maintenance may cause. This is a big and important step for us, and we hope that these changes will breathe new life into the development of the World War 3 project.

We thank you so much for still being with us, for still believing!

Summary of the 2023 survey

As we mentioned in the last article, almost 2,000 people filled out our survey. We are pleased to share the data from it with you. Thank you very much, and we hope you’ll find the M416 Leaf-sprayed gift useful in your daily battles!

We would like to clarify that our analysis is based solely on the survey data and developer commentary, not on speculation.

DEV: It is important to understand that this refers to playing experience, not game skills.

The vast majority of players are satisfied with the maps, with only a small minority of 18% dissatisfied.

DEV: The tradition of creating maps of real and varied places around the world has been an important part of what makes the project unique, and we would like to keep on this track in further development.

The game's weapons received high satisfaction ratings from over 57% of players.

DEV: We will continue to add new weapons to our collection, including unique and striking designs that stand out from the crowd.

Over 65% of players experienced significant technical issues with the game last year.

DEV: We are really sorry about this result. Right now, our main goal for 2024 is to get the game to a technical level that we are happy with. So that we can use it as a stable foundation for future improvements.

Nearly half of respondents rated the stability very highly, with one in three believing it worked well enough. Major problems were reported by 19% of players.

25% of players are satisfied with the update frequency. However, it is important to note that almost a third of respondents were dissatisfied with the update frequency.

DEV: We are going to create a system of updates, where smaller updates will follow the major updates, which will include new content as well as any fixes or adjustments to the new content.

42% of players feel that the changes were adequately announced and described. Over 31% found it acceptable, while over 26% felt there was insufficient communication about the changes.

DEV: We’ll surely be working on improving the communication regarding game changes and big updates.

More than a quarter of players are active on official community channels, while almost half do not check them regularly. Also, just over a quarter of players almost never check community channels.

26% of the players are satisfied with the answers given by the CMs, while 21% are not satisfied. 52% do not have an opinion on the subject.

Over 78% of players consider them to be very important. Only a little over 17% of those surveyed have no opinion, while just 4% of players believe that they do not have a significant impact on them.

DEV: The longevity of a game like WW3 depends on new and interesting content being released frequently and without interruption. Once we get the game to a satisfactory technical level, our focus will be on creating that content.

WW3 received a mostly positive rating from over 60% of players, with a further 32% giving it a neutral rating. Dissatisfaction with the game was expressed by only a small percentage of players - just over 7%.

Interesting fact: With over 40% of our players having discovered us through Youtube, we should definitely look over it while preparing further game promotion!

And here’s the output compiled from answers to open questions:
 • Players appreciate the game's gunplay, realism, and authenticity, with customization options for both weapons and characters receiving favorable mentions (38 mentions). However, there are concerns regarding the need for more content, including maps, weapons, and game modes, to keep the player base engaged (48 mentions).
 • Improvements in server performance, matchmaking, and anti-cheat measures are consistently highlighted (32 mentions). Some players express dissatisfaction with slow update progress and a perceived lack of communication, contributing to a decline in the player base (8 mentions).
 • There's a desire for more variety in weapons, maps, and attachments (40 mentions). Issues related to sound design, optimization, and server stability are raised (28 mentions), with suggestions for better communication and transparency from the developers (12 mentions). The balance between realism and gameplay is emphasized (22 mentions), with requests for a more immersive experience.
 • Additionally, players emphasize the importance of addressing technical issues, such as server wait times, hit registration, and overall game optimization (16 mentions). The game's potential is recognized (12 mentions), but players stress the need for prompt updates, better communication, and ongoing improvements to keep the player base engaged and attract new players (20 mentions).

We appreciate everyone's contributions to World War 3. The information provided, including the biggest problems, the most desirable features, and the most appealing quality of life improvements for players, is invaluable for WW3.

Please mind that we are currently in the process of transferring the entire infrastructure of the project, including servers, assets and code, to our new development team, however we are already discussing with the team how to implement as many of these improvements as possible in future updates.
Once our plans are finalized, we will share a roadmap of updates and fixes with you.
