Maintenance 3.1.1

TECH UPDATE – JULY 2023

Welcome to the first article in the "Status update" series, in these articles you will find information about our plans related to the future of the World War 3 project, answers to your questions and summaries of what we have already managed to achieve. This series will not appear at regular intervals, if we feel that we have collected enough questions or there have been some interesting events - that's when you will get a new episode of "Status update".

In the first edition, we will focus on events that have been strongly signaled by our community over the past six months.



[h2]TO BEGIN WITH, THE SOLUTIONS AND CHANGES THAT WE HAVE INTRODUCED TOGETHER WITH S3 OPERATION SKYFRONT.[/h2]

[h3]REDUCING THE NUMBER OF TECHNICAL BREAKS.[/h3]

What have we done?

We have rebuilt the systems that allow us to manage the game in such a way that making changes such as connecting and configuring new servers can be done "on the fly", without the need to stop the main server that requires a technical break of at least an hour.

What does this bring from a player's point of view?

Far fewer maintenance that don't add anything new (from the player's point of view) to the game, but require the server to be shut down.



[h3]VERIFYING PROFILES AND THEIR PROGRESSION EVERY TIME A PLAYER LOGS INTO THE GAME.[/h3]

What have we done?

We have introduced additional verification and a profile backup (log). The profile will be checked every time with the database and log. This will eliminate problems with disappearing customization items.

What does this bring from a player's point of view?

If you have ever encountered the problem of an item disappearing from your unlocked equipment after an update or technical break. These changes have just eliminated this problem.



[h2]MOVING TO THE SOLUTIONS THAT HAVE ALREADY BEEN PRESENT IN THE GAME FOR SOME TIME, BUT WE HAVE NOT DISCUSSED THEM IN DETAIL.[/h2]

[h3]DATABASE EXPANSION AND OPTIMIZATION.[/h3]

What have we done?

We have increased the number of physical machines interacting with the databases. Now all the information that is directed and received travels a 'shorter' and faster route.

What does this bring from a player's point of view?

For players, this means increased performance, reduced potential delays and lag present in the game. Gameplay is more enjoyable and free of inconvenience now.



[h3]MODERNISATION AND OPTIMIZATION OF THE GAME SERVERS.[/h3]

What have we done?

The game's network code has been optimized to consume less of the resources of the server on which it is executed. In addition, we have replaced the machines with new - more efficient ones.

What does this bring from a player's point of view?

Significantly enhanced gameplay comfort, no micro-freezes or other phenomena affecting gameplay and performance in a bad way.



[h3]GAME PERFORMANCE ON WEAKER HARDWARE - NEW GRAPHICS SETTINGS.[/h3]

What have we done?

We have added new graphics settings to the game, aimed at improving performance on weaker computers.

Low character quality settings are responsible for the amount of detail and overall quality of operators models during gameplay.

Low weapon quality settings are responsible for the number of details and overall quality of weapon systems models during gameplay.

What does this bring from a player's point of view?

When these settings are enabled, overall performance including single frame rendering time and FPS count increases.



[h3]REGION PICKER.[/h3]

What have we done?

We have added the possibility to select the region (server) on which the player wants to play. The player's baseline is on the "Global" server with the best parameters for him.

What does this bring from a player's point of view?

Ability to choose the region in which the player wishes to play.



[h3]UNC AND EQUIPMENT TRANSFER FROM WEB TO THE GAME.[/h3]

What have we done?

We have fixed bugs that caused problems when transferring items from the web Equipment to the in-game one.

What does this bring from a player's point of view?

Item transfer problems no longer exist.



[h3]PRIZES FOR THE FIRST BATTLE PASS.[/h3]

What have we done?

We have fixed a bug whereby items, despite being unlocked, did not reach players and had to be disposed of manually by technical support.

What does this bring from a player's point of view?

All outstanding items, even if unnoticed by the player, are now available in the customization tab.



[h3]ERROR 40302.[/h3]

What have we done?

We have diagnosed and fixed the causes causing this error.

What does this bring from a player's point of view?

Players can log into the game without any problems.

[h3]On the 27th of July 2023, starting from 13:00 CEST / 04:00 AM PDT, the server will not be available for 1 hour due to a planned server maintenance.[/h3]

  • Removed Panther strike from customization
  • Fixed issue with timeout error message after purchasing battle pass premium.

Operation Skyfront: New Update Available Now!

Venture to the Bosporus Strait, connecting Europe and Asia in Operation Skyfront, the latest expansion of World War 3 available for free! Play now on the new Istanbul map, specifically on the construction site of one of the skyscrapers. Meet new operators from Turkey and across the Mediterranean. Fight with new weapons and modify them with the new Customization feature for both weapons and strikes.

The newest third season of WW3, named "Operation Skyfront," will be mainly related to the Mediterranean basin. One of the highlights of this season will be another new map, which is located in Turkey's largest city - Istanbul.



But let's start with the place where we put the most recent World War 3 map. Istanbul, formerly known as Constantinople, is a city of immense historical and cultural significance. It is located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, spanning the Bosphorus Strait that separates the two continents. Throughout its long history, Istanbul has been a coveted city for numerous civilizations due to its strategic location, economic potential, and cultural richness. The city witnessed multiple sieges, battles, and conquests by the Romans, Byzantines, Crusaders, and Ottomans as it served as a crucial hub connecting the East and the West.



Today it is the most populous and largest city in Turkey. The Bosphorus Strait, which separates the European and Asian sides of Istanbul, has played a significant role throughout history. It has been a vital waterway for trade, transportation, and defence, connecting the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara.

[h2]Battle Pass for Operation Skyfront:[/h2]

The Battle Pass is now available for purchase in the game to unlock exclusive rewards from the Mediterranean countries in Operation Skyfront. Play and fight to unlock over 100 reward levels, including exclusive premium customization options for operators, weapons, strikes and much more!

[h2]Quality of life improvements:[/h2]

Loadout Stations:
This new feature, in the form of distinctive weapon lockers, will appear in Tactical Ops and Fubar modes. Players will be able to change their equipment during the game without losing any lives. Each time you change your equipment in a weapon locker, it will cost you 500 Strike Points.




Tactical Ops Hardcore:
A new variation of Tactical Ops mode, designed for those who want a taste of the challenge. This mode will appear during the Skyfront season, it will not be available from patch day. As soon as it is added, we will inform you about it through a separate article.

Commo Rose V2:
With the Skyfront update, we have significantly expanded this system. Now all functions will be influenced by the environment and what the player does. In addition, we also added gestures that can be activated from the "Social" commands tab.



Store - single items:
Now you will be able to find individual items of equipment and weaponry in the store. Note that a large part of the available items are available for a limited time, not available all the time.

● Loadout Stations available on all Tactical Ops and Fubar maps. - Such a weapon locker allows the player to change the loadout for 500 Strike Points.
● Changed number of punishes to kick unfair player out of the server:
o TACTICAL OPS: 6

o Team Deathmatch & Domination: 3
● Helidrone handling improvements.
● Tweakd 3d World markers.
● Jammer does not block important elements of the HUD, i.e. score, round time and prompts.
● Updated localizations.

AUDIO:
● Complete re-work of foley sounds for transition and action.
● Complete re-work audio enviro map of Smolensk.
● Numerous fixes related to the optimization of audio banks and their individual assets.
● Improved audibility range of some vehicle weapon sounds.
● Fixed a bug related to a bugged voice line of the character in the vehicle.
● Fixed a bug related to the sound of some roomtones on Shibuya.
● Improved precision optimization of individual sound components on maps.
● Added VO notification for a team when a tank appears on its spawn during a TacOps match.
● Minor fixes related to the volume of individual VO.
● Fixed the problem with muffling Mecopter sounds in FPP.
● Fixed an issue with endless slide sound when dying during slide.

BUG FIXES:
● Fix for repair kit ignoring other equips (Repair kit clipping in weapon).
● Ammo count is broken in training.
● Turning animations corrected for 90 degrees left and 90 degrees right.
● Wrong attachment setup fixed in animset for first equip animation in crouch position.
● Arm length corrected to fix issue with leaning.
● Fix for lenses in Neckwarmer with Korean Goggles.
● Fixed gameplay tips visibility.
● Fixed minimap display when spawning in vehicle as driver.
● Fixed issue where HUD Scaling was not applied.
● Fixed issue with RCWS limited rotation when FPP camera is forced by game mode or settings.
● Fixed issue of missing KillScreen when HUD is disabled in-game and in settings.
● Showing minimap on radar now checks for team affinity.
● Fixed issue with missing updates for squad and squad leader changes.
● Fix for bugged warmup music.
● Various of Level Design fixes.
