Ruby Hunter becomes free starting 1st August
Ruby Hunter hasn't received much attention since it's release. I've decided to dust down the project and release it for free for anyone to play.
The game itself was already free on the Android Play Store and Windows Store so it only makes sense to drop the price tag on Steam as well.
Since the initial release, the community server that kept track of the leaderboards and uploaded levels were unfortunately shut down. As of the past week, it has been reinstated and moved into the cloud so it should run with a higher availability.
After restarting the server, I was pleasantly surprised that some of the leaderboards got filled relatively quickly with your plays. I'm happy that even though I've neglected the game and provided no updates in the past few years, some of you still have fun playing it.
For the future, I don't have plans for making major changes. Updates for small bugfixes may come, but don't expect gameplay changes or general overhaul.
One small little addition that is in the back of my mind is in-game notifications when someone improves on your entry in a leaderboard. (No time-frame for this though.)
Last but not least, the source code for the game has been made public. See github.com/Sipkab/ruby-hunter.
Have fun.
