The best Dragon Ball game comes to PC Game Pass

There have been a whole lot of Dragon Ball videogames over the years, many of which have launched on our home platform. So, sure, there's going to be some debate over which entry takes the title of best - but I'm sure many will agree that Dragon Ball FighterZ is a worthy champion. If you're now nodding your head furiously, or have yet to give it a whirl, the good news is you'll soon get a new opportunity to get stuck in, as it's coming to PC Game Pass today.

Launched in January 2018, Dragon Ball FighterZ is a 2D fighting game with a 3vs3 tag-support system that lets you throw some tag-team attacks into the mix. It draws on the TV series' anime style and features a bunch of its characters such as Goku (naturally), Gohan, Frieza, and Cell among others, with a story mode that lets you recruit them to your side. "Certain character combinations also have a special dialogue before a fight," the announcement post on the Xbox Wire explains. "You can even re-create iconic story moments by having certain characters fight and be rewarded with a faithfully reproduced special cut-scene."

The game reviewed very highly when it launched, with critic scores between 85 and 87 across the various platforms on aggregate site Metacritic.

One of the year's best games headlines October Game Pass titles

Microsoft has revealed a strong line-up of games coming to Xbox Game Pass over the remainder of October. As always, first-party Microsoft projects will launch into the service, as well as the usual assortment of indie and AAA projects.

The releases begin today, with Outriders arriving on PC Game Pass, alongside indie retro FPS Into the Pit, which arrives on PC, console and Cloud.

October 21 sees the release of three games. Dragon Ball FighterZ arrives on console and Cloud Game Pass. Indie turn-based adventure Echo Generation launches into Game Pass on PC, console and Cloud. The excellent space shooter Everspace 2 also drops on PC Game Pass on the same day.

Gogeta SS4 is now available!

Players will be able to unleash Gogeta SS4’s power, the Fusion Warrior from Dragon Ball GT, in DRAGON BALL FighterZ!

The strongest Saiyan, born from the fusion of Goku and Vegeta, Gogeta SS4 is proficient in every aspect of combat, using life-threatening Ki Blasts as well as relentless close combat attacks!

Energy Cutter no longer hits the same opponent multiple times under certain conditions.

Fixed an issue in which damage scaling would not apply to any attack canceled into after Miracle Super Punch or Great Special Rolling Kick.

Fixed an issue in which it was difficult to perform a Super Attack after standing light attack: follow-up 2.

[h3]Piccolo[/h3]
Fixed an issue in which it was difficult to land a standing unique attack against some characters while they are in the air.

[h3]Master Roshi[/h3]

Fixed an issue in which the opponent would lock up when Master Roshi canceled their attack with Lullaby Fist.
Fixed an issue in which the K.O. animation for Evil Containment Wave would not play correctly under certain conditions.
Made it easier to perform an Ultimate Z Change from Turtle Hermit Extraordinaire.
Reduced invincibility time for Martial Spirit and Z Assist (B Type).
Lengthened start-up of the 2nd hit of Z Assist (B Type) when the attack does not hit the opponent's main character.
Start-up for Z Assist (B Type) no longer speeds up when Master Roshi is hit by the opponent's attack before start-up.

Fixed an issue in which Direct Hit would not land against some characters who are in a wall bounce.

Fixed an issue in which some characters would freeze under certain conditions during an Ultimate Z Change involving Unpolished Instinct.

Fixed an issue in which the Ki gauge would increase from Z Assist (B Type).

Fixed an issue in which heavy Hors d'Oeuvre Stab could not be performed with half a Ki gauge bar when it links from some absorbed Special Moves.

[h3]Bardock[/h3]
Fixed an issue in which the timing at which an Ultimate Z Change is no longer possible during the mid-air version of Saiyan Spirit differed from the grounded version.

[h3]Goku (SSGSS)[/h3]
Fixed an issue in which the Ki gauge would increase from Super God Shock Flash (Heavy).
