Knowing the Basics!

Basic Movement
Movement in Eagle Island Twist follows a simple left and right horizontal scheme. When you run either way and suddenly change direction, your character will do a brief slide, then start running in that new direction.

Jumping & Grabbing
Jumping allows Quill and Fia to reach higher areas normally out of reach, which could allow them to grab onto a ledge and further access what was once inaccessible at lower heights. Certain runestones can further increase their jump height, along with being able to evade incoming projectiles and special enemy types.

Aiming
Quill and Fia utilize a multi-directional aim. However, their range to throw Koji/Kusako respectively is limited without the proper runestone! Players can take advantage of this directional aim to hit enemies beyond narrow pathways, traveling midair by hitting enemy to enemy, or to get a good angle to eliminate multiple enemies at once.

Attacking with different Elements and Maintaining Manaroc
Quill and Fia can attack by launching their flying companions at targets. Each owl can imbue itself with elemental powers to increase their potency and utility across different levels.
Below are just some of the many elemental forms you can have Koji or Kusako change into!
  1. Magira Form: The fire form. Excellent damage output and great for attacking multiple enemies at once.
  2. Icora Form: The ice form. Can slow down enemies hit by Koji or Kusako, or freeze them for a brief amount of time, leaving them open to attack!
  3. Zephara Form: The lightning form. Covers Koji or Kusako in an electrified aura, allowing them to travel in a straight line aimed at any direction. This form allows Koji and Kusako to travel through and damage multiple enemies in a line.
In addition, each use of any elemental form depletes a set amount of Manarocs in the player’s bar. In order to use certain elemental forms, players must have the necessary Manaroc amounts to use. In the examples below, each time Fia throws Kusako, while imbued with an element, she will lose one Manaroc–as indicated by the disappearing blue icon in the top left.

Switching between Elements
Koji and Kusako are able to switch between multiple element types, increasing their potency and utility across different levels. Knowing when to use the Magira type over the Icora type could prove essential to defeating certain enemies, as well as maintaining your manarocs.
