Update 1.1 – New blocks

Hello everyone, in this update a customizable flag block has been added. In properties mode it is possible to change the flag painting to that of several countries and it is also possible to change the overlay color.

Two new types of springs have also been added, the compressed and extended ones. Both have a configurable release key that when pressed, the compressed spring expands with force and the extended spring compresses with force.

Also, some bugs were fixed.

Summary update note:

- Added the flag block.

- Fixed problem of wrong connections when using the extendable bars.
- Fixed issue in the level editor when changing the color of a duplicate object to change the color of the original object as well.
- Fixed problem of showing inputs and outputs of axis configurations wrongly in some specific situations.
- Fixed issue of triggering the lights of some blocks when switching modes.

Update 1.0 – Final Version

Hello everyone, finally after a long journey we have reached the final version of the game, first I would like to thank all the players who gave a vote of confidence and purchased the game in early access and especially those who provided valuable feedback. With that, you enabled the progress of the project up to this point.

This update is more symbolic with few additions, as the game has been completed throughout its early access. And speaking of early access, below is the summary list of all the additions that were made in early access:

- Added 50 new levels.
- Added 55 new blocks.
- Added 3 new objects in the level editor.
- Added collectible stars in all levels of the main campaign.
- Added logic mode and made various improvements to it later.
- Added a step-by-step tutorial for logic mode.
- Added support for Steam Leaderboard.
- Added a set of Steam achievements.
- Added Steam trading cards.
- Added a window that shows the records and contraptions that beat those records.
- Added a Steam Workshop trending window.
- Added several improvements to the level editor.
- Added several improvements to the build mode.
- Added several small improvements to the game in general.
- Added “cheat” modes for fun.
- Reworked the sandbox level.
- Fixed several bugs.

Update 1.0:

In this specific update, an overall leaderboard of the best players of the main campaign has been added that shows the players who most conquered the best times, smallest complexities, smallest blocks and smallest weights.

In addition, other interactions with contraptions have been added to the main menu.

Also was added the possibility to use fullscreen without borders (borderless) in the options menu. It has been modified when completing a level so that it is no longer necessary to wait to send the score to Steam to perform other actions. And other minor issues were fixed.

Future:

As mentioned before, the final version will not mean the end of the project, any bugs will be fixed and new content will still be added.

Final version release date (March 24)

Finally, World of Contraptions is close to the release of the final version, which should take place, if all goes well, next week on March 24, 2022.

Steam Winter Sale and the game final version

Hi everyone, after more than a year and several updates the World of Contraptions is close to the release of its final version, which should happen with the next update around Q1 2022 (the specific date will still be defined). The final version will be the next update, there won't be any big changes as the game is almost complete, but the final version doesn't mean that the game will no longer be updated. After its release, any bugs will be fixed and new content will still be added.

Another change will be in the price, after the Steam Winter Sale, the price will be readjusted from $7.99 to $9.99 (this change may vary slightly for other currencies), this readjustment is due to the various new content added to the game throughout the Early Access, but don't worry, this will be the only price adjustment for the game and will be the price of the final version. So, take advantage of this sale to buy the game at the lowest price.

Update 0.37 – New levels and features

Hi everyone, in this update, 5 new levels have been added.

Also, collectable stars have been added to all levels of the main campaign. Stars are released after completing the level for the first time, so you can play again to try to complete the level by collecting them. There are two types of stars, silver and gold. Silver ones are in easier positions and gold ones in more difficult positions in the level.

Also, a set of Steam achievements has been added. In the options a button has been added to clear the game progress, in case for some reason you want to play the main campaign again from scratch. Added a shortcut button to the Steam leaderboard at the selected level in the main campaign window. And lastly, the main campaign level groups were reorganized.
