FAQ 2: FAQ Harder
Hi!
Our last FAQ answered most of your questions, but also generated some new ones, so here’s a follow-up!

Will the Unreal Engine 5 graphics be better?
Yes, and significantly so! Not just because of better effects, lighting etc., but in general because of the visual direction.
In DDS1, I remember having a large amount of trouble trying to lace weed with other drugs. Is there a likelihood of this being easier to accomplish in DDS2?
The drug/substance production and processing system is highly improved. It is more complex and more user-friendly at the same time. We rethought the workstations and their issues from the first game, analyzed community playthroughs and setups and made significant improvements.
Will DDS2 be more varied?
Yes, we learned that our community spends long hours playing DDS and adapted the gameplay. It evolves in time and gives you more options to engage in fresh activities.
Will we also get to use chemicals for drug production, and not only grow stuff?
Yes, we redesigned many aspects of the lab configuration, some drugs you will be able to buy, others you'll need to produce out of other substances that you'll obtain in different ways. You will also have more control over your offer, inventory and stimulating demand for your preferred playstyle.
Can we have a lab that analyzes the drugs you or your competitors made and see how toxic, addictive etc. it is?
Yes, there will be special lab equipment for mixing, purification and analyzing obtained substances for purity and contents/contamination.
Why is a sequel in the works when the final update for the predecessor is not yet out? Also, you mentioned that DDS is at its limits. Why don’t these limits apply to a sequel in a different setting?
The production of the base for DDS2 started with a separate team and now as we finish up the first part we can jump fully into the second one. Also, the limitations were not with the creative vision, but with the technical side of DDS1. Read into the previous FAQ, Rafal had already talked about it there.

Will there be workshop support?
We decided not to implement mod support for DDS1. As for DDS2 the matter is being discussed.
Will there be some potential randomized/dynamic events?
We’re thinking about how to approach this, but we’d rather not talk about it until we have it all worked out.
Will players who bought DDS1 get a discount for DDS2?
Our publisher Movie Games creates the pricing policy for their games. They usually offer ‘complete-the-set’ bundles upon release, where the owners of their other games will be able to save extra money on the newly released game. So, in short, yes, you can expect some extra savings if you own DDS1.
What’s the plan for DDS2 updates?
We'll get back to this when the core and base game is ready. We've designed the technical core much better for much easier support and expansion but don't have a specific post-release plan in mind yet.
Alright! This should cover most of the stuff that you’ve been asking about. If you want to discuss something further, join our Discord or follow our Twitter or Facebook. As for Steam, we’ll be back with DDS1 Endgame update, and also some production news or diaries about DDS2.
