UPDATE 3 OUT NOW!
Hey all!
We’re very excited to announce that Rover Builder’s third major update is live right now! Update three brings a slew of new features, fixes, and levels. See below for a full breakdown!
Major additions/updates:
- 6 brand new levels added
- A new sculptable sand object in the level editor + a cactus model and a new large rock model
- Track wheels + tracks: a new part that makes it possible to make tank-style vehicles. Tracks operate much better on sand compared to regular wheels
- A water gun: a new weapon that sprays water, suitable for close combat. Can pop incoming water balloons for defense purposes.
- Water rocket: a new tool/weapon. In rocket mode, it produces thrust (for a little while, it has limited fuel) and enables short hops and/or acceleration boosts. In weapon, mode acts as a single-use rocket launcher that will explode when hitting something.
- A duplicate tool for rover/level editors: Alt+drag now duplicates and moves the selection. In the rover editor Split/Join is renamed to Cut/Join and works with the C key (previously Alt)
- Move tool refactor: it's now possible to move only selected parts, compared to before when it always moved everything that's connected to the moving part.
- Steam achievements: There are now many achievements based on statistics about the gameplay. More will be added in future updates.
Minor updates/fixes:
- Wheels now take their orientation based on the building area, not the beam it's attached to
- Level details now have info about the number of objects, vertices, etc.
- An objective text is now displayed at the beginning of each mission (in the top bar)
- Bug and performance fixes
