Devlog - Summer Update Progress

Hey hunters!

The summer update is coming along well, here's just a bit of what is to come:

- Trophy Room
- Reworked Trophy save system, revamped to allow 20 dinosaurs to be bagged as well as more info such as weapon that killed the dinosaur and the distance the kill was taken down
- New Map with more dinosaurs being brought back in
- Dinosaur kill animations
- Reworked AI

Status on implementation:

- Trophy Room is about 50% of the way done (The design of the room itself is about 10%), with the code for it being about 90% (Just some polish on how the room saves)

- Reworked save system is done

- New Map and dinosaurs is about 45% done, map needs to be fleshed out more, dinosaurs have the new materials apply and new animations will be worked on or tweaked

- Dinosaur kill animations are about 10% done

- Reworked AI has yet to begin. I will be re-examining how the AI is done and make it more fun to hunt dinosaurs and add a level of uniqueness to each dinosaur. I know that has been one of the biggest complaints, and it was next on the check list after fixing frame-rate issues.

When I fixed the frame rate issues, I did remake the entire game from scratch for the most part to ensure I nailed the bug down. It was hell, and unfortunately it left the game more bare bones than at launch. So I worked toward making the game more fleshed out with content, I realize that was a double-edged sword as now the content lacked any personality.

This took a personal toll on me, as I received loads of criticism, and I thought I had no healthy way to express that I was a solo developer and this was my first outing.

Moving forward, I want to make sure the content in the game appeases both fans of the great Carnivores series and fans of hunting games and dinosaurs.

Early Access price change!

Thanks to all the support, Wrath of the Goliaths: Dinosaurs will have its price reduced by roughly 33% during the duration in Early Access!

For those that bought the game at the full price, there will be in-game compensation coming soon. More on that at a later date. I want to thank all the dedicated fans that helped support the project. I was able to do this because of you!


The summer update is still in the works, adding more hunt info such as distance of the kill, weapon used, and more. I updated the trophy save system, so previous hunts unfortunately will not carry over like previously planned. I apologize for that, but the new system was much needed. Also the trophies you can bag in a hunt has been increased from just 3 to 20! More on this update later this summer!

Hey hunters! A quick patch to tweak some things and get achievements back!


Added:

- Added unlockables
- Added achievements back in (7 currently achievable, rest are content dependent that has yet to return)


Tweaks & Fixes:

- Decreased fog on Haystack Ridge
- Increased spawn points on Haystack Ridge
- Fixed minor bug issues
- Disabled motion blur

Patch 0.2.3.0

Hey hunters! A quick "small" patch is ready to prepare us for the summer patch.

New:

- New Map Flat Lands
- Added back Acrocanthosaurus, Carnotaurus, and Apatosaurus
- Added material modifier for when dinosaurs are bagged
- Added new sounds for Shotgun reload animation
- Added new audio for the Standard Pistol
- Added new skins for Acrocanthosaurus
- Added new skins for animals missing albino and melanistic variants
- Added ragdoll for Edaphosaurus and Stegosaurus

Tweaks & Fixes:

- Animals now slow down as they approach a stopping point, and will gradually speed up as they move toward something
- Ragdoll fixes for Megalosaurus, Carnotaurus, Ceratosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, Stegosaurus, Edaphosaurus, Carcharodontosaurus, and Saurophaganax.
- Removed redundant code
- Tweaked bagging system
- Tweaked bagging ship
- Tweaked firing speeds for TR Shotgun, RP500, Standard Pistol, and Valcon SMG
- Tweaked recoil for the Standard Pistol and TR Shotgun
- Tweaked Damage that each of the following weapons dealt:
(^ - Increased, v - Decreased)
^ Standard Pistol
v TR Shotgun
v Valcon SMG
^ RP 500

- Tweaked perma reward
- Tweaked cost for some dinosaurs

The summer update is still underway and we are hoping to introduce a lot more and bring back in many new animals. Including Pentaceratops, Stokesosaurus, and more! We have also updated a lot of the icons, art, and banners, we hope you enjoy!
