Developer Update - August 1

The Project Genesis Libra pre-alpha milestone update is right around the corner, and will be bringing some new additions to the abilities system first introduced in Kepler. Many of you have become wizards of game theory through the use of the current Avatar active abilities, but for those of you that might not be familiar with what is available to you, this Developer Update is designed to get you up-to-speed!

[h2]Ammo Crate[/h2]



In the Kepler pre-alpha milestone update, ammo allocation was drastically changed, with the removal of unlimited ammo entering the game and making ammo conservation much more important. With the ammo crate, you can not only replenish 100% of your weapon ammo, but you'll even be able to replenish one of your throwables, giving you the ability to get back into the action quickly.

[h2]Shield Barrier[/h2]



The shield barrier has been in the game for quite some time now, and has undergone many different iterations. In its current form, deploying your shield barrier will trigger an animation in front of you that will provide a translucent barrier that will protect you from oncoming fire while also allowing you the ability to fire through your shield and deal damage to your opponents.

[h2]Heal Repair[/h2]



Want the ability to heal up both your health and your allies? Then the heal repair might be just the active ability for you. When deployed, the heal repair activates a healing node on the ground and provides healing tethers to you and your teammates that are within the vicinity.

Pro Tip: When used in conjunction with the shield barrier, the heal repair can provide rapid stabilization to your team as you take cover behind the shield and top up your HP pool before heading back into combat.

[h2]Turrent Drone[/h2]



Whether you crave information on the battlefield or simply want more firepower going down range, the turret drone is a great choice for both. With loud audio queues during firing, not only will the turret drone deal damage to your opponents, but it also provides key information about enemy locations, allowing you to flank and dominate your opponents with the info the turret drone provides.

[h2]Tactical Insert[/h2]



As one of the most game-changing active abilities introduced in the pre-alpha Kepler milestone, the tactical insert provides unique methods for infiltrating enemy lines and spawning your Avatar at a specific location you choose when deploying the tactical insert. Get back into the action as fast as possible and cover ground by spawning with the tactical insert!

Pro Tip: Some of our most talented Pilots have utilized the tactical insert in the Detonation game mode - after an initial Breach & Board of the enemy capital ship, Pilots will deploy a tactical insert which allows them the ability to instantly spawn back onto the enemy capital ship, should they die behind enemy lines.
