Developer Update - December 15

We've been excited to see many of you in-game hard at work on the grind to unlock the Ephemera wings with the new progression model we introduced in the pre-alpha Minerva milestone update! So in this developer update, we're taking a deeper dive into how the progression system works so you know exactly what you need to do to earn your flair in-game.

UNIT ALLOCATED EPHEMERA

For our veteran Pilots, you're become familiar with the Ephemera wings that were previously awarded by earning Prestige through leveling your account in increments of 100 levels, with each Prestige level awarding a more significant amount of flair in the form of Ephemera wings. If you're new to Project Genesis, Ephemera wings are displayed on the back of Avatars and Battle craft to signify dedication to the grind in-game and show off your experience to other players.

In-game, Ephemera wings are visible on your main menu, as well as in kill-cams for enemies you defeat in battle, ensuring that they know they've been defeated by a killer Pilot and they'd better up their skills if they plan on attempting to get revenge on you.

Since the release of the pre-alpha Minerva milestone update, we've shifted how these Ephemera wings are earned to reward you more frequently for your progression in-game. Instead of awarding Ephemera wings based on your overall account level, we have now implemented a system that shifted the progression track to each individual unit. This means that instead of grinding 100 account levels to earn your next Ephemera flair, you will now have separate Ephemera progression paths for each Avatar and Battle craft.

In the Avatar and Battle craft menu tabs, you can locate your unit progression progress by selecting whichever Avatar or Battle craft you are working on progressing towards Ephemera and see how far you have to go to achieve the next piece of Ephemera flair.

Additionally, unit progression for Ephemera has now been added to the After Action report following the completion of each match, so you'll now be able to see whether you have earned the next level after a dominant performance in-game.

Every 16 levels achieved for an individual Avatar or Battle craft will advance you through the progression path for that unit, with the first level of Ephemera unlocking the ability to display an in-game badge on the back of the unit and the sixth level proudly showcasing your selected badge and 6 flashy wings.

The badges that are available for display with Ephemera include any of the badges available in DLC packs, as well as all of the exclusive Affiliate Partner Program badges which are awarded to outstanding community members for their valuable contribution to the community and the development of Project Genesis.

You can see some of these badges on display in the image below, and if you're interested in grabbing one of these for yourself, you can learn all about how to get involved by joining our Discord.

Badge Descriptions:
  • Level 1 - Founder's Badge (Legacy Badge Previously Available)
  • Level 2 - Ambassador Level 1 Badge
  • Level 3 - Test Pilot Level 1 Badge
  • Level 4 - Creator Level 1 Badge
  • Level 5 - Ace Pilot Level 1 Badge (Future Affiliate Partner Role Coming Soon)
  • Level 6 - Controller Strike Squad Badge (Exclusive Allocation for Prior Participation in Controller Testing)
NOTE: Unlocking various levels of the Ephemera progression does not award the badges shown below; Pilots can only display badges they already have in their Persona inventory.

As mentioned earlier in this update, one of the best parts of Ephemera wings is your enemy having to watch in defeat upon death as they see your flair right before their eyes, ensuring they know exactly the type of Pilot that destroyed them.

We're pumped that some of you have already earned Ephemera wings through your in-game effort, and we expect to see that flair all over the combat environments as you continue to grind in the Minerva update!

Also...while we won't give any spoilers and will leave it up to you to get in-game and figure it out, there IS a place in-game now in Minerva that just so happens to be a goldmine for rapid progression, both for your overall account level as well as positively impacting your Avatar and Battle craft progression. But you'll have to log on and explore for this progression opportunity yourself. Of course, joining our Discord server and asking around the community should get you some answers, as many of our veteran Pilots know exactly what's up.

With that being said, with Minerva live and in your hands, we are now looking ahead to the next pre-alpha milestone update: Neo, and we are on the lookout for gamers wanting to get involved in this next development cycle, so if you'd like to get in on the action (and earn some sweet badges in the process), check out the info below and apply!

Want to get in on the action and contribute your voice?
