Hotfix for update 0.56.2



Good afternoon, fighters! 😎

Today we published a hotfix for version 0.56.2, which fixed various bugs.

List of changes:

- Fixed a large amount of grace in the location "Dead Forest";
- Fixed problem with shooting after using CCD;
- Fixed problems with the collision of bonfires;
- Fixed a problem with lighting in rooms, due to which some weapon skins were displayed incorrectly;
- Fixed a problem with the death of characters, due to which the bodies of the characters could be displayed;
- Fixed a problem with the text field for entering the date in the clan statistics;
- Fixed a problem with the animation of pistols.

Servers stopped for the upgrade. Please, update the game client.

Update 0.56.2 - Updated Engine and graphics

Today we’ve released an update 0.56.2 in which Unreal Engine was updated. In this version, we’ve added new options for graphical settings, made optimizations and improvements, and fixed some bugs.

[h2]Updated Unreal Engine[/h2]



In this patch, we’ve updated Unreal Engine to version 4.26. In this patch, we’ve updated Unreal Engine to version 4.26. That's why the update size is large enough to download.

Despite the fact that the version of Unreal Engine 4.27 was just recently announced, at the moment we have updated the Unreal Engine in our game to version 4.26, because, in our experience, the most recent version of the engine may not be the most stable.

[h2]DirectX 12 и Vulkan[/h2]

Thankful updated Unreal Engine, we have added experimental support of DirectX 12 and Vulkan. DirectX 11 still can be chosen in the game settings and is the main render mode.



DirectX 11 will stay as the main render mode and will be available in the game settings.

At the moment, we didn’t make any conclusions about which API is better: everything depends on the scene, locations, and daytime. In some scenarios, DirectX 11 can be the fastest, in others be slower than Vulkan or DirectX 12. Also, we’ve noticed, that some versions of VGA drivers may cause graphical glitches, so updating of VGA drivers is recommended.

One way or another, the choice of API will be available to you so that each player can choose the most convenient API for his rig.

[h2]Volumetric clouds, new visual effects, and light[/h2]



Many anomalies now use Niagara - this is an Unreal Engine tool for VFX. Also, campfires in locations, use Niagara too.

In the graphics settings, in addition to DirectX 12 and Vulkan, it is now possible to enable "Volumetric clouds". This is an updated sky, thanks to which the picture and lighting, in general, are noticeably improved in the game.



Thankful to volumetric clouds, clouds became more realistic. What about the performance, as they say, “Beauty requires sacrifice”, and new light and clouds require more powerful hardware. Those users, whose hardware doesn’t have enough computing power can always switch to the previous version of the light and clouds in the game settings. Moreover, we’ve made additional optimizations.



There is an interesting fact, that DirectX 12 sometimes can show better performance with volumetric clouds and skies, than DirectX 11. But it depends on the hardware and VGA drivers.

In any case, all players have the ability to switch between new skies and old ones, as well as switch between DirectX 11, DirectX 12, and Vulkan modes. Everyone is able to find the optimal settings for themselves! Experiment!


[h2]Optimization[/h2]
In addition to updating the game engine, in version 0.56.2 we paid attention to optimizations.



In the screenshot above, you can see 84 FPS in the “Korovie” location from version 0.56.1. After the optimization, in DirectX 11 mode, and with old clouds it became 108 FPS, with the same graphics parameters, time of day, and weather conditions:



This kind of optimization has been done in many places in the game. Of course, work in this direction will continue in the future, without reducing the quality of the graphics.

[h2]Faction ranking[/h2]

In version 0.56.2, the rating system of the faction players has been improved. Now, you can see the statistics of the best players for the CURRENT week, month, quarter, and year.



The first time, these statistics will be empty, since statistics from the previous version of the game are not taken into account. This is a great chance for those who want to prove themselves even on old servers.

[h2]Other fixes and improvements[/h2]

- For your convenience, the “Sent Items” tab has appeared in the mailbox interface, which displays a list of the last 10 parcels you sent;
- Fixed inaccuracies in Mavrukhin's notes, which can be found in the bunker. Duplicates removed, missing text and one new note added;
- Improved the quest "Barman's Information";
- Simplified the quest "Inspect the crash site of the helicopter";
- Added missing anomalies "Radio" at the Confederate entry points in the "Testing Grounds" location;
- Fixed an issue that resulted in Goliah and the Annihilator not attacking players without a faction;
- In the location "Arena of drones" now it is impossible to activate the event in the adjacent section, and now it is impossible to conduct a firefight between the sections of this location;
- Players without a faction are now kicked out of the "Arena of Drones" location;
- Fixed animation of NPCs in the bar;
- Corrected the description of "Pharmacist-K";
- Improved painting of the Hi-tech helmet;
- Fixed problems in animations of brass knuckles for female characters;
- Improved notification about the removal of "Premium Stash";
- It is now possible to leave the PVP arena only through the guide;
- Fixed a bug due to which the aggressor flag was reset when a character sits on a moped;
- Fixed a bug due to which the chance of falling out of spare parts for weapon modification was calculated incorrectly;
- Fixed a bug when using cans with glossy paint, due to which the necessary resources were not consumed;
- The demining grenade now affects the mines of players without a faction in PVE mode;
- Ammo loaded into the weapon is no longer removed when disassembling the weapon;
- Improved campfire cooking. Now, if there are enough ingredients for several recipes at the same time, they can be cooked at the same time. Previously, this did not always work correctly;
- Fixed sight glare issue;
- Various materials and particles have been improved;
- Removed irrelevant notifications from the game;
- A huge number of minor fixes and improvements have been made.

Today we have released update 0.56.1, which adds new opportunities for creating modified weapons, mopeds became available, new quests were added, the contents of the airdrop were changed and many different improvements were made!



Mopeds


Fighters! If you have completed Grisha's questline, then in this version you got a possibility to purchase a moped from him! It will be possible to use a moped from level 13, and the cost of this vehicle is 200,000 tokens. The moped requires refined gasoline, which will need to be produced from low-quality fuel by distilling it at a chemical station. By the way, fuel consumption depends on the weight of the items in the inventory. To use the moped, completing the questline isn't required, but a recipe for the production of refined fuel is needed. Recipe can be obtained for quests or can be bought from an NPC.

For those who do not want to spend the time completing quests, there is a possibility to buy a moped in the in-game store, and in special colors, including the symbols of factions. Please note that mopeds with factional colors have factional affiliation!



It is also worth noting that vehicles usage is not allowed in all locations. For example, in safe zones, underground locations, or in the Exclusion Zone, it will not be possible to ride a moped.

Modification kits


Thanks to the modification kits, you can apply modifications to the created weapons in the "Testing Grounds" location, as well as to Lucky, Fortune weapons, and weapons in a paid skins. The kits are divided into 5 main types:
  • pistols
  • submachine guns
  • shotguns
  • assault rifles
  • rifles


Each type of modifier set has three subtypes:
  • damage modifier
  • accuracy modifier
  • wear modifier


Each attempt to apply a modification will reduce the success rate for the next modification. And if the modification is unsuccessful, then it will not be applied, and the weapon will be broken. Weapons that already have modifications have a lower chance of enchanting success. The probability of success for the modification will be displayed in the game interface. You will not be able to “reset” applied modifications.

To create a modification set, you need to find a blueprint and all the parts needed for it. Spare parts can be obtained by disassembling weapons you do not need, which you can find, for example, from NPC bandits. Blueprints can be obtained by participating in various events around the world of the game, as well as by ransacking airdrops.

Quests and new devices


New quests have been added to the locations "Tunnels", "Coast" and "Swamp". After completing the questline in the "Tunnels" you can get a new device - i-SAAC. It is similar to the i-HR and allows you to repair MRP and MHP "on the fly" - you just need to direct the i-SAAC to the installed MRP or MHP to start the repair. The i-SAAC device can only be used by an engineer, although characters of any class can complete the quest for it.

Another new device available to all classes is the Demining Grenade. It forces all mines to be detonated within a certain radius. Also, it can be thrown into the “Radio” anomaly, and it will cause detonation of all mines on the other side of the teleporter.

Fishing lovers are in luck!



While fishing in the "Coast" location, you can get small and relatively simple quests, but with a good reward!

Airdrop


In this version, we have changed the set of available airdrops loot. The "Izolenta" series weapon has been removed, and the "Lizzard" and "Chameleon" have been added instead. Algorithms for calculating the chance of skins drop were changed: we think that we will not hear from you more complaints about the fact that “there are too many skins in the game, which reduces their value”.



Also, a set of Hi-Tech armor was added, which is in many ways similar in characteristics to the chitin set of armor, but still has some differences in level requirements and characteristics. For example, a bulletproof vest covers the arms and has the ability to install titanium plates.

Other changes


- Improved animation of lizards;
- Demining and healing grenades can now be used in a safe zone;
- The energy of equipment that is placed in the account inventory saves correctly now;
- It is now forbidden to eat and drink if the character is not hungry and thirsty;
- Now, if it is impossible to collect fuel from the fuel barrel, a notification about this will be displayed;
- Fixed an issue when merchants not buying weapons created in the "Testing Grounds" location;
- Improved fishing animations;
- Added new heads to paid customization;
- A shovel can now also be bought from merchants in the "Coast" location;
- Fixed an issue that caused symbionts-shockers to become "white" at a long distance;
- Fixed an issue that prevented fire spiders from dealing damage to characters on close distances.

Hotfix for update 0.56



Good day, fighters!

We’ve rolled out a patch, in which we fixed and improved some things. Many critical bugs were fixed, such as respawn problems in the Canyon, bugs with commission shops in “Testing ground” (your items and money will not disappear, but they will be on one of the bases). Also, we’ve fixed low GPU usage on “Testing Grounds” that caused low FPS on a good PC. This “anomaly” has been removed ;-)

Also, we’ve changed the name of production modules: from now they are named V1-V4 instead of M1-M4. It’s like a version of a module. We did it because the previous naming of modules made players confused. Players thought that the V4 module (M4 old name) allow producing M4 weapons. In fact, it is not so. Each module, even V2 (M2 old name) can produce a weapon with up to 3 modification (M3 is maximum), but the difference is that modifications of V2 modules are lower than V3 or V4 modules, but even V2 module can produce M3 weapon, but its modifications will be “light”. Now we hope that it will be more clear for players.

Good time of day, fighters! Update 0.56 is available for download! In this update, we have added a new PvP location “Testing Ground”, the craft of modified weapons and new quests!



“Testing Ground” location


Before the Catastrophe, the testing ground of the SO-17 laboratory was used for the production, testing, and debugging of combat drones. Surprisingly, all the equipment has retained its functionality and is able to produce new drones to this day.

For factions, this location is one of the most important sources of supplies of new weapons, and that is why control in these territories means control over weapons.



The gameplay in the "Testing Grounds" location will be slightly different in terms of game mechanics.

There are six beacons in the location, on which combat drones automatically appear. Drones are set up to guard their beacons and therefore destroy all manpower in the area. Combat drones are a very tough enemy that can attack both from the ground and from the air. Therefore, in order to defeat them, players should use the arsenal to the maximum: from shields and EMP-grenades to RPGs, and you simply cannot cope with them alone.



Each faction can take over the beacons while they are available for capture. When the beacon is captured, the combat drones side with the faction and continue to defend their beacon from players with a different faction.

The beacons are grouped in a special way: three beacons on one line, three beacons on the other. If players captured and held three beacons on the line until the end of the timer, then one base (for example, the northeast) is activated, and if you held all three beacons on the other line, another base (for example, the south) is activated. Each group of beacons has its own timer.



At the same time, if the timer has not expired, the opponent can take back control of the beacons from you until the time runs out. Therefore, you should guard all three points until the timer ends if you focus on activating at least one of the bases. However, as mentioned earlier, combat drones will actively help you in the defense and protection of beacons.



When the base is activated, you get access to trade, crafting, including modified weapons and new equipment. In addition, each of the bases opens access to a location with an event (each base has its own), in which it will be possible to get modules for the modified weapons crafting.

The location has four factional entrances and two common entrances. Thus, players of factions will be able to enter the location from different sides.

!By the way, there are merchants at the faction entrances: this way, you can replenish ammunition if you run out of them.



In the picture above, faction entrances are indicated in a small circle. For example, the picture shows a situation where the Confederation players have already captured three beacons in the north direction, and the Black Sunset players have sent two squads to repel them. At the same time, two more Black Sunset squads are heading towards the western beacons that have not yet been captured, and another Confederation squad is sent to strengthen the upper beacon.

Since the fighting in the location, in theory, can take place in different directions at the same time, we recommend that the players of the factions work as one, and players may even distribute combat missions between the clans: one clan attacks and defends one beacon, the second clan - another. In general, the location is very rich in various tactical maneuvers: sometimes, it will be enough to send a couple of saboteurs to simply prevent the opponent from capturing the beacon. And there may be situations when faction players prefer to conquer beacons on their lanes and not interfere with each other.

Unlike the "Canyon" location, captured bases in the "Testing Ground '' location will not always belong to the faction that captured them. After a certain time, the bases get out of "control", all combat drones lose their factional affiliation and begin to destroy everyone. Such a “reset” of bases may give a chance for revenge to the “weak side”.

Crafting of the modified weapon


To craft a modified weapon, players must obtain a production module and the necessary components. Production modules are issued as a reward in the location “Arena of drones”, for access to which players need to have control over the bases. At the same time, each of the bases provides an opportunity to take part in its own event.

Production modules range from the simplest and most common to the rare ones. Depending on the module used, a weapon will be created, which can have up to four modifications. At the same time, almost every weapon that will be created in this way may differ in characteristics, even though the same module was used during creation.

Transport


Fighters! If you follow the news, then you know that in version 0.56 we planned to add a transport - a moped. Unfortunately, we have not yet been able to fix all the problems with it that we previously reported in our community. Many problems have been resolved, but more time is needed to “polish” to make the number of bugs with the moped usage minimal. We can no longer delay the release of update 0.56 - we know how you are waiting for update 0.56, we see your messages and comments! Nice to know that the community loves what we create! This is inspiring!



Therefore, for now, we are releasing an update without transport. It is important to note that mopeds will appear immediately in one of the next patches, as soon as everything is ready (there is still a little bit left).

[h2]How to get a moped?[/h2]

A new NPC has appeared in the location "Minaev's Territory" - Grisha. He works as a mechanic in these places. Grisha has tasks that are available to players from level 10 and bring a good amount of experience. After completing his tasks, you can buy a moped from this Grisha, as soon as we release a version in which mopeds appear.

It will be possible to use the moped after we add it to the game. It will require level 13, but its cost will be high - 200,000 tokens. The moped will need refined gasoline, which must be produced from low-quality fuel by distilling it at a chemical station. In this regard, in many locations, new points have appeared for collecting low-quality fuel, especially at abandoned gas stations. You can start collecting and producing fuel now.


ATTENTION! The transport will not be available at the start in version 0.56, but it will become available in one of the next updates. At the same time, Grisha's tasks are available for completion, but the purchase of a moped in the game and in the in-game store will be temporarily disabled.

Update installation


The 0.56 update for the Steam client will be over 23 GB in size. This is because the Steam version now will use file compression, the same as the My.Games client. At the same time, the size of the game client will be significantly reduced: about ≈24 GB instead of 43 GB as it was before, which is definitely a plus. Due to the shrinking client size, future updates to the game may be installed faster than before, but the size of future updates will become larger.

Therefore, we recommend having about 60 GB of free disk space to install update 0.56 on the drive where Steam is installed. If there is not enough disk space, after the 0.56 release, you can simply reinstall the game by downloading the new client again (since, in fact, the client will be downloaded from scratch).

For My.Games users, the update will also be quite impressive, but not the same as for Steam users, because of the My.Games client used compression from the very beginning.

Other changes


- The new level cap is 50;
- Increased durability for MHP-1 and MRP-1;
- Healing grenades are now available for all classes;
- Added animation for fast throwing of a grenade. To use the quick-throw of grenades, they must be placed in the quick-access slot. If there are several types of grenades in the quick access slots, then a grenade from the first slot in the queue will be used for a quick throw;
- Changed the sounds of medicine usage;
- Fixed problems with some armor models;
- The time for roadblocks capturing in the "Canyon" location was reduced to 1.5 hours;
- Monsters were removed at the entrance to the "Testing Ground" in the "Canyon" location;
- Commission store now has a weight limit of 50 kilograms per lot;
- Now you can sort weapons by damage in Commission store;
- The clan activity log has been improved - it is more detailed and more convenient;
- Fixed a problem with painting pockets of mercenaries' backpacks;
- Loaded S1 ammo can no longer be placed to account inventory;
- Sending mail interface has been improved: now the recipient can be selected from the list of friends;
- The interface of inviting to the group has been improved: now the player can be selected from the list of friends;
- Mines no longer react to characters without a faction in PvE mode;
- Added animation of a quick knife strike;
- In the "Canyon" location, guides have been added to the "Testing Ground" location;
- The barter mechanism has been improved: now it excludes the possibility of fraud during the confirmation of the exchange by the second party;
- Fixed an issue with the RPG scope model in cases where the RPG is in poor condition;
- Optimized water bodies in the "Coast" location: it should improve the performance in this location.
