Update 0.58.4 – Halloween Event!

Trick or treat, fighters! 🫡 Today, we’ve prepared update 0.58.4, launching the Halloween event! 🎃👻🍬🦇💀🧡!

This version includes numerous fixes in the “Foothills” location, a new object added to the “Eastern Territories”, voice lines for certain NPCs, the resolution of many additional bugs, and a variety of other improvements.

Halloween Event

Have you encountered the Hellbiont recently?! Well, fighters, the Hellbiont who broke free earlier has gained unprecedented power and has become a truly formidable opponent! He is now a seasonal world boss, much like RW-01 and the Frost Deer.

By defeating the Hellbiont, you can obtain useful loot, gift cards, and rare items like the “Devilish Helmet,” the “Skull” mask, and the exclusive “Zombie” paint, only awarded for victory! You’ll only find the Hellbiont at night in locations such as “Big Village,” “Coast,” “Swamp,” and “Eastern Territories.”

Alongside Hellbiont, you can also encounter Mr. NukePumpkin in these locations, who won’t leave you without gifts.

Mr. NukePumpkin offers six gifts for exchange, one of which is the new spray paint “Blood, Sweat, and Pixels.” This spray can be applied to the following weapons:

- MSR-10
- MSR-12
- L96A1
- WSC PDW
- Vepr-12
- M16
- Thunder
- Pioneer
- SMG-90
- SPAS-12
- Zastava M70
- AS VAL
- VSS Vintorez
- UMP
- MP-5.

Weapons painted with this spray can be stored in the account inventory. The full list of items that can be obtained from Mr. NukePumpkin is as follows:

- “Blood, Sweat, and Pixels” spray can
- “Skull” mask
- “Toxic Pumpkin” mask
- “Pumpkin” mask
- “Brutality” bat
- Sterilizer

A new “Golden Skull” mask has also appeared in the in-game store, which cannot be exchanged for cards (or “farmed”). It is a luxury item for collectors.

By the way, the Hellbike is no longer available for purchase or for exchange with cards. Our approach is that many players already own this moped, so it’s no longer a true rarity.

The event will last until November 8, 2024 (inclusive) at UTC. After that, Mr. NukePumpkin will remain for a while so you can exchange your gift cards.

Bus Station

In the “Eastern Territories” location, a new landmark has appeared – the “Bus Station.” This area is notable for the fact that you can find some rare items here, which aren’t easy to collect and are essential for completing certain quests. Which items can be found there and which quests this area will help complete are details yet to be discovered by experts in the world of WTLOnline.

We also plan to add a few new quests to the “Bus Station” in the future.

NPC Voiceover

We’ve enhanced the voiceover for NPCs in the “Camp” location, which is at the very start of the game, and now nearly all NPCs in the “Camp” have voices. Additionally, all Guide NPCs in the game and Mr. NukePumpkin have been voiced. We plan to continue developing this feature as much as possible to make the game world even more immersive.

Miscellaneous Changes

- You asked, and we delivered! Protection against “logout abuse” was added to the “Canyon” location, similar to the system in the “Foothills.” In this update, players who log out in specific areas will be returned to A1-1 from the Northern Outpost or G4-6 from the Southern Outpost.
- Another popular request: mortar shells are now available from traders at the entrance to the “Foothills” location.
- The weapon description system now omits the “unsuitable for your class” message; instead, if your class has specific advantages with a weapon type, it will display “Your class has advantages with this weapon.” This better emphasizes weapon flexibility without class restrictions, while clarifying class-specific benefits.
- Heavy pickaxe attacks have been reworked.
- Each point of agility now impacts pickaxe strike speed more significantly, speeding things up a bit.
- Over 30+ bugs and issues identified in the “Foothills” location have been resolved.
- Collision issues with certain vehicle models have been fixed.
- Loot in the “Foothills” location was adjusted: was added loot behind lockpicked doors and replaced some ammunition for better balance.
- Design issues in the “Big Village” location have been fixed.
- Minor design errors in the “Sunny” location have been corrected, and several objects reworked.
- Minor errors in the “Camp” location have been fixed.
- Fixed an issue with drone weight increasing after grenade drops.
- Eliminating a character with a grenade dropped from a drone now completes the clan quest requirement.
- Fixed issues detecting enemy equipment during drone-assisted area scans.
- Scanning enemies with a recon drone now grants more points (though limited to prevent maxing out points just from scanning).
- Fixed a bug allowing the drone to be hidden via the quick access panel.
- The Giant Cave Spider in “Eastern Territories” now has simplified requirements to trigger the event.
- If a character is wearing a gas mask, sound effects for taking damage now reflect the gas mask effect.
- Faction changes now reduce reputation with the Roaming Trader less drastically, enabling normal respawning at faction-safe zones.
- Dropped items no longer disappear immediately upon character death. However, please remember the drop feature is intended for discarding items, not trading; use barter for exchanges.
- Adjustments were made to mob spawn settings.
- The level of a mob now displays in the mob search window.
- Fixed an animation bug for the MP-5.
- MSR-12 now supports PO-2 scopes.
- Additional background options (besides the rug) have been added to the weapon preview window.
- For convenience, the Premium Status expiration date now appears in the upper-right corner of the character lobby window if Premium is active.
- Materials for certain objects were improved.
- The “Pumpkin” mask can now be placed in the account inventory.
- A “Create Character” text was added in the character selection window if there are free and available slots.
- Other bugs were fixed.
- New bugs were added.

A new patch for 0.58.3: A expanded loot on "Foothills"

Good day, fighters!

A new patch for version 0.58.3 has been released, featuring improved paint masks for Confederation body armor, the addition of new "radio" anomalies in the "Foothills" location that allow quicker access to the center, and an expanded loot list with updated ammunition found in boxes (and elsewhere) throughout the location.

Update your game client!

Patch for version 0.58.3

Good day, fighters!

Today we released a patch for version 0.58.3 that fixes various bugs and introduces some improvements.

Changelog:

  • Fixed minor design issues in the "Foothills" location.
  • Resolved an issue with one of the sun spider spawn points in the "Foothills" location.
  • Added mailboxes to the "Foothills" location. As a result, the mail sending fees in the "Tunnels" and "Testing Grounds" locations have been revised.
  • Merchants at the entrance to the "Foothills" location now sell mines.
  • Points now accumulate at half the speed when holding radio towers in the "Foothills" location during captures. Some players couldn't even buy ammunition in time, while the opposing faction was better prepared. This led to one side not even making it to the fight while the opponent was almost done collecting the points needed for victory (the opponent prepared in advance, and you didn’t).
  • The requirements for using the mortar have been changed. It now requires 7 Strength instead of 6 Accuracy as before.
  • The recon drone now loses only 2% durability per launch instead of 10%.
  • Fixed an issue where the recon drone couldn't find all the stashes.
  • The event in the "Black Sunset Camp" can now be triggered if there are at least 2 players in the camp. The cooldown of this event has also been reduced.
  • Fixed an issue where the motorcycle could not be used if the character previously entered an anomaly.
  • Fixed minor design issues in the "Solnechny Outskirts" location.
  • Fixed minor design issues in the "Arena of Drones" location.
  • Due to incorrect time settings on the player's PC (wrong time zone or time lagging/advancing), various timers in the game may display incorrect information. To address this, an experimental function has been introduced to adjust the display of game timers, taking into account the incorrect time settings on the player's computer. These timers will now account for client-side time discrepancies. However, please note that a small margin of error may still exist, and we strongly recommend setting up time synchronization on your system to minimize any inaccuracies.
  • Continued work on optimization.

Update 0.58.3 - "Foothills" Location

Greetings, fighters!

Today, we’ve released the long-awaited update 0.58.3, which introduces a new battleground for faction warfare—the "Foothills" location!

"Foothills" Location

[previewyoutube]https://youtu.be/QbIcKkNIwxc[/previewyoutube]

With version 0.58.3, faction warfare moves to the "Foothills" location. This area is rich in titanium deposits, a valuable resource for gunsmiths and advanced armor manufacturers!

Access to this location is granted to players in factions who have reached level 30. To participate in battles in the "Foothills," speak with your faction’s recruiter in the "Tunnels."

The location introduces entirely new rules to faction warfare. Players from both factions are symmetrically positioned on opposite sides of the map, effectively eliminating "respawn wars." Players no longer need to use jammers or hack the command core to capture an outpost. Engineers can breathe a sigh of relief: they can now fully immerse themselves in the real combat missions assigned by their faction!

All you need to do is capture and hold control of radio towers A, B, and C to secure the outpost in the northeast, and towers D, E, and F for the outpost in the southwest. Once your faction gains an advantage by capturing more towers, your faction starts earning points. The faction that accumulates points faster becomes the winner. But don’t relax just yet, fighters! Just because you’ve captured several points doesn’t mean you won’t lose them: the enemy can regroup and take control of the towers from you! If that happens, your points will stop accumulating, and your opponent’s points will start to rise instead.

Note that using MRP and campfires is not allowed in this location, but if one of the radio towers is captured by your faction during the battle, you can use the CCD—the connection to the tower is established upon capture, allowing you to teleport! However, use this feature wisely, as the CCD now has a cooldown period. A poorly timed teleportation can lead to a tactical disadvantage!

Along with this location, a new type of weapon has been added to the arsenal of faction players: mortars. Mortars require the clan technology "Faction Arsenal 2." With mortars, you can carry out "artillery preparation" on the radio towers before storming them, or disrupt an enemy’s attempt to capture a tower.

To use a mortar, you’ll need to set it up, prepare the necessary amount of ammunition, calculate the distance, and understand the direction to launch the shells. By the way, to help with distance calculation, a new PDA module called "Navigation" has been added to the game. This module adds a new functionality to your PDA—a ruler. With it, you can measure the required distance and determine the azimuth, then simply aim the mortar in the right direction. This module can be purchased from faction traders in the "Foothills" location or found in any of the world’s loot crates.

By the way, the mortar can launch shells up to a distance of 1 kilometer. Additionally, achievements have been added to the game for using the mortar.

The maximum number of faction points for capturing has also changed: now, in battles within the "Foothills" location, faction fighters can earn up to 1,000 points. As before, these points are awarded for defeating the enemy, but there are additional ways to earn them. For example, when you capture a radio tower. If your faction gains control of the towers and starts earning the necessary points to win, all players in that faction will also receive a small amount of personal faction points passively.

The rewards for victory have also been updated. Considering that there is no longer a need for various equipment (like MRP and jammers), the rewards are sufficient to cover the costs of war for fighters, even if the loot is simply sold to traders. Of course, this depends on your personal contribution to the battle.

While working on the "Foothills" location, our team paid special attention to balancing the location design for PvP. We aimed to provide players with a new "PvP mode" with entirely different outpost capture rules, ensuring symmetry in tactical opportunities for both factions. We also tried to address all possible gameplay scenarios and eliminate issues like "respawn wars" while giving players the ability to quickly return to the battlefield after death or change their attack strategy, making the gameplay more intense and diverse.

Notably, characters left in the location outside of the outpost will be automatically sent back to the entry points by default. This solves the problem of so-called "logouts," where enemy fighters leave characters near bases.

There is also room for players who don't feel comfortable in direct firefights: they can control tactical transitions using drones to highlight enemies for their teammates or use mortars, thus contributing to their faction's efforts.

In version 0.58, we will continue to develop and improve the "Foothills" location based on feedback and constructive suggestions from our players.

Other Changes

- On an experimental level, the character render distance in the "Foothills" location is set to 600 meters. If this render distance causes significant performance issues, we will adjust this value accordingly.

- Weapon repairs now take into account the number of modifications applied to the weapon. The parts required for modifications and their repair are hard to come by, making modified weapons valuable. Since rare parts are used in modifications, this makes weapon repairs more challenging and affects the cost of repairs.

- The recon drone now has the ability to drop F1, RGD-5, RGD-5M grenades, as well as gas and smoke grenades. To drop a grenade, the drone must be equipped with it before takeoff. Use the "Spacebar" to drop the grenade.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

- Additional key bindings for drone control have been added in the control settings—please check these settings.

- Scrambler, RideOrDie, and Nomad motorcycles can now perform quick turnarounds. Check the control settings under the "Vehicles" section.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

- Minor inaccuracies in the German localization have been fixed.

- Minor inaccuracies in the Chinese localization have been fixed.

- A bug with the outline display of airborne objects near anomalies has been fixed.

- A filter has been added for sorting Mail in the PDA. You can now view only new (unread) messages.

- Minor issues with bullet particles have been fixed.

- Minor design flaws in locations have been corrected.

- The paint masks of some factional body armor have been changed. Materials have been optimized.

- The visual recoil for most weapons has been improved.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

- The duration of good weather in the game has been increased.

- Optimization work has been carried out.

- Due to the introduction of new control keys, your control settings may be reset. Be sure to check your control settings after updating the game.

The update is now available for download. Update your game client!

Sincerely,
Your WTL Team

Update 0.58.2 - "Quench The Thirst with Gasoline"

Fighters!

Today, with the release of update 0.58.2, the event "Quench The Thirst with Gasoline" begins! The formidable and fierce drone RW-01 once again poses a threat to the locals, and only brave squads of fighters will be ready to confront it, standing up to protect the weak!

Event "Quench The Thirst with Gasoline"

As before, you will meet the Biker in many locations, a long-time friend of Grisha Mazyuta. The Biker is once again ready to share a set of biker clothing and motorcycles in exchange for chrome bolts. This time, you can trade with the Biker not only for the classic Scrambler but also for the black Ride or Die!

You can obtain bolts by completing quests, exploring boxes, and killing monsters, but you will get the most bolts by defeating the robot wolf RW-01.

The rewards for defeating the RW-01 drone now include simple biker vests: they do not have any logos or badges. These vests cannot be purchased in the store or traded with the Biker, but they can be placed in the account inventory.

Classic vests can still be traded with the Biker, and new ones have appeared in the in-game store, appealing to those with a sense of humor.

But vests are not the only new addition to the in-game store. The "Nomad" motorcycle is now available—a bike for true travelers and adventure seekers! Like the "Ride or Die," it comes in a set with gasoline.

The event starts with the release of the update and will last until July 14th, inclusive, in the UTC time zone. Afterward, the Biker will remain in the locations for some time to allow all players to exchange their bolts.

Change List

Of course, in addition to the "Quench The Thirst with Gasoline" event, we have made several changes to the game:

- Improved the Scrambler model: the headlight is now glass and transparent.
- Added new PvP quests for clan development. Now, clans can be developed not only with chevrons but also through various PvP tasks.
- Points for capturing outposts are now awarded for defusing mines, destroying mines, and destroying equipment.
- Grenades can now trigger the detonation of enemy mines, thus clearing the battlefield.
- Reduced the penetrability of brick walls in buildings.
- Changed the "Dodgy" skill for the mercenary: now, with a certain chance, this skill allows the mercenary to survive critical damage (a "one-shot"), giving the mercenary a second chance.
- Large-caliber bullets (e.g., .338 or 12-gauge) can now knock characters off their feet when hit.
- Increased the overall armor-piercing capability of almost all .308 rounds, including M1 and S1. This will enhance the effectiveness of using the MSR-10 and MSR-12 in combat.
- Reduced the additional non-critical headshot damage multiplier. Critical damage and critical hit chances when hitting the head have not been changed.
- Fixed an issue with the incorrect positioning of collimator sights on the MP5.
- Fixed an issue with "Udav" pistols painted in "Tiger" paint. Everything now looks correct.
- Using CCD now has a 5-minute cooldown.
- The recon drone has received a targeting function.
- Players now have the option to refuse to respawn at MRP-1 if it is poorly placed, making them an easy target for the enemy. If you decline to respawn on MRP-1, characters will respawn at the last safe zone instead.
- We continued working on improving the particle effects of shots, casings, etc., so several weapons have received new visual effects when firing.
- Each breath-holding now depletes stamina.
- Fixed the shooting animation of the GSh-18 "Alpha".
- The description of armor now displays a complete list of supported armor plates. Previously, this list only showed the main types of plates.
- The healing effect of using multiple healing grenades no longer stacks.
- Fixed shortcomings and minor errors in the locations "Minaev's Territory," "Maze," "Eastern Territories," "Canyon," "Coast," and "Solnechny's Outskirts."
- Added a new dialogue in "Solnechny."
- Fixed minor issues with the quilted jacket model.
- Fixed an issue in the "Testing Grounds" location where some cover objects would "cut off" at a distance (disappear), allowing you to see and shoot at the enemy.
- Fixed an issue that caused the client to crash when transitioning between locations with a monocular in hands.
