Update 0.58.3 - "Foothills" Location

Greetings, fighters!

Today, we’ve released the long-awaited update 0.58.3, which introduces a new battleground for faction warfare—the "Foothills" location!

"Foothills" Location

[previewyoutube]https://youtu.be/QbIcKkNIwxc[/previewyoutube]

With version 0.58.3, faction warfare moves to the "Foothills" location. This area is rich in titanium deposits, a valuable resource for gunsmiths and advanced armor manufacturers!

Access to this location is granted to players in factions who have reached level 30. To participate in battles in the "Foothills," speak with your faction’s recruiter in the "Tunnels."

The location introduces entirely new rules to faction warfare. Players from both factions are symmetrically positioned on opposite sides of the map, effectively eliminating "respawn wars." Players no longer need to use jammers or hack the command core to capture an outpost. Engineers can breathe a sigh of relief: they can now fully immerse themselves in the real combat missions assigned by their faction!

All you need to do is capture and hold control of radio towers A, B, and C to secure the outpost in the northeast, and towers D, E, and F for the outpost in the southwest. Once your faction gains an advantage by capturing more towers, your faction starts earning points. The faction that accumulates points faster becomes the winner. But don’t relax just yet, fighters! Just because you’ve captured several points doesn’t mean you won’t lose them: the enemy can regroup and take control of the towers from you! If that happens, your points will stop accumulating, and your opponent’s points will start to rise instead.

Note that using MRP and campfires is not allowed in this location, but if one of the radio towers is captured by your faction during the battle, you can use the CCD—the connection to the tower is established upon capture, allowing you to teleport! However, use this feature wisely, as the CCD now has a cooldown period. A poorly timed teleportation can lead to a tactical disadvantage!

Along with this location, a new type of weapon has been added to the arsenal of faction players: mortars. Mortars require the clan technology "Faction Arsenal 2." With mortars, you can carry out "artillery preparation" on the radio towers before storming them, or disrupt an enemy’s attempt to capture a tower.

To use a mortar, you’ll need to set it up, prepare the necessary amount of ammunition, calculate the distance, and understand the direction to launch the shells. By the way, to help with distance calculation, a new PDA module called "Navigation" has been added to the game. This module adds a new functionality to your PDA—a ruler. With it, you can measure the required distance and determine the azimuth, then simply aim the mortar in the right direction. This module can be purchased from faction traders in the "Foothills" location or found in any of the world’s loot crates.

By the way, the mortar can launch shells up to a distance of 1 kilometer. Additionally, achievements have been added to the game for using the mortar.

The maximum number of faction points for capturing has also changed: now, in battles within the "Foothills" location, faction fighters can earn up to 1,000 points. As before, these points are awarded for defeating the enemy, but there are additional ways to earn them. For example, when you capture a radio tower. If your faction gains control of the towers and starts earning the necessary points to win, all players in that faction will also receive a small amount of personal faction points passively.

The rewards for victory have also been updated. Considering that there is no longer a need for various equipment (like MRP and jammers), the rewards are sufficient to cover the costs of war for fighters, even if the loot is simply sold to traders. Of course, this depends on your personal contribution to the battle.

While working on the "Foothills" location, our team paid special attention to balancing the location design for PvP. We aimed to provide players with a new "PvP mode" with entirely different outpost capture rules, ensuring symmetry in tactical opportunities for both factions. We also tried to address all possible gameplay scenarios and eliminate issues like "respawn wars" while giving players the ability to quickly return to the battlefield after death or change their attack strategy, making the gameplay more intense and diverse.

Notably, characters left in the location outside of the outpost will be automatically sent back to the entry points by default. This solves the problem of so-called "logouts," where enemy fighters leave characters near bases.

There is also room for players who don't feel comfortable in direct firefights: they can control tactical transitions using drones to highlight enemies for their teammates or use mortars, thus contributing to their faction's efforts.

In version 0.58, we will continue to develop and improve the "Foothills" location based on feedback and constructive suggestions from our players.

Other Changes

- On an experimental level, the character render distance in the "Foothills" location is set to 600 meters. If this render distance causes significant performance issues, we will adjust this value accordingly.

- Weapon repairs now take into account the number of modifications applied to the weapon. The parts required for modifications and their repair are hard to come by, making modified weapons valuable. Since rare parts are used in modifications, this makes weapon repairs more challenging and affects the cost of repairs.

- The recon drone now has the ability to drop F1, RGD-5, RGD-5M grenades, as well as gas and smoke grenades. To drop a grenade, the drone must be equipped with it before takeoff. Use the "Spacebar" to drop the grenade.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

- Additional key bindings for drone control have been added in the control settings—please check these settings.

- Scrambler, RideOrDie, and Nomad motorcycles can now perform quick turnarounds. Check the control settings under the "Vehicles" section.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

- Minor inaccuracies in the German localization have been fixed.

- Minor inaccuracies in the Chinese localization have been fixed.

- A bug with the outline display of airborne objects near anomalies has been fixed.

- A filter has been added for sorting Mail in the PDA. You can now view only new (unread) messages.

- Minor issues with bullet particles have been fixed.

- Minor design flaws in locations have been corrected.

- The paint masks of some factional body armor have been changed. Materials have been optimized.

- The visual recoil for most weapons has been improved.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

- The duration of good weather in the game has been increased.

- Optimization work has been carried out.

- Due to the introduction of new control keys, your control settings may be reset. Be sure to check your control settings after updating the game.

The update is now available for download. Update your game client!

Sincerely,
Your WTL Team

Update 0.58.2 - "Quench The Thirst with Gasoline"

Fighters!

Today, with the release of update 0.58.2, the event "Quench The Thirst with Gasoline" begins! The formidable and fierce drone RW-01 once again poses a threat to the locals, and only brave squads of fighters will be ready to confront it, standing up to protect the weak!

Event "Quench The Thirst with Gasoline"

As before, you will meet the Biker in many locations, a long-time friend of Grisha Mazyuta. The Biker is once again ready to share a set of biker clothing and motorcycles in exchange for chrome bolts. This time, you can trade with the Biker not only for the classic Scrambler but also for the black Ride or Die!

You can obtain bolts by completing quests, exploring boxes, and killing monsters, but you will get the most bolts by defeating the robot wolf RW-01.

The rewards for defeating the RW-01 drone now include simple biker vests: they do not have any logos or badges. These vests cannot be purchased in the store or traded with the Biker, but they can be placed in the account inventory.

Classic vests can still be traded with the Biker, and new ones have appeared in the in-game store, appealing to those with a sense of humor.

But vests are not the only new addition to the in-game store. The "Nomad" motorcycle is now available—a bike for true travelers and adventure seekers! Like the "Ride or Die," it comes in a set with gasoline.

The event starts with the release of the update and will last until July 14th, inclusive, in the UTC time zone. Afterward, the Biker will remain in the locations for some time to allow all players to exchange their bolts.

Change List

Of course, in addition to the "Quench The Thirst with Gasoline" event, we have made several changes to the game:

- Improved the Scrambler model: the headlight is now glass and transparent.
- Added new PvP quests for clan development. Now, clans can be developed not only with chevrons but also through various PvP tasks.
- Points for capturing outposts are now awarded for defusing mines, destroying mines, and destroying equipment.
- Grenades can now trigger the detonation of enemy mines, thus clearing the battlefield.
- Reduced the penetrability of brick walls in buildings.
- Changed the "Dodgy" skill for the mercenary: now, with a certain chance, this skill allows the mercenary to survive critical damage (a "one-shot"), giving the mercenary a second chance.
- Large-caliber bullets (e.g., .338 or 12-gauge) can now knock characters off their feet when hit.
- Increased the overall armor-piercing capability of almost all .308 rounds, including M1 and S1. This will enhance the effectiveness of using the MSR-10 and MSR-12 in combat.
- Reduced the additional non-critical headshot damage multiplier. Critical damage and critical hit chances when hitting the head have not been changed.
- Fixed an issue with the incorrect positioning of collimator sights on the MP5.
- Fixed an issue with "Udav" pistols painted in "Tiger" paint. Everything now looks correct.
- Using CCD now has a 5-minute cooldown.
- The recon drone has received a targeting function.
- Players now have the option to refuse to respawn at MRP-1 if it is poorly placed, making them an easy target for the enemy. If you decline to respawn on MRP-1, characters will respawn at the last safe zone instead.
- We continued working on improving the particle effects of shots, casings, etc., so several weapons have received new visual effects when firing.
- Each breath-holding now depletes stamina.
- Fixed the shooting animation of the GSh-18 "Alpha".
- The description of armor now displays a complete list of supported armor plates. Previously, this list only showed the main types of plates.
- The healing effect of using multiple healing grenades no longer stacks.
- Fixed shortcomings and minor errors in the locations "Minaev's Territory," "Maze," "Eastern Territories," "Canyon," "Coast," and "Solnechny's Outskirts."
- Added a new dialogue in "Solnechny."
- Fixed minor issues with the quilted jacket model.
- Fixed an issue in the "Testing Grounds" location where some cover objects would "cut off" at a distance (disappear), allowing you to see and shoot at the enemy.
- Fixed an issue that caused the client to crash when transitioning between locations with a monocular in hands.

Update 0.58.1

Good day, fighters!

As You may know, after the release of update 0.57.17 our team has been focusing on the major update 0.58, which includes a huge number of changes, and will also introduce a new PvP-location "Foothills", work on which is still going very active.

During this time we have made a huge number of changes to the game, so our plans for the near future are as follows.

The development of the 0.58 branch starts with the 0.58.1 update, which brings a huge number of important changes that affect gameplay and balance. Since there are really a lot of changes, we are sure that first of all it is necessary to debug all these changes and make sure that everything works stably.

After that, we plan to release an update with the location "Foothills". This location will represent not only a new landscape for faction battles but also a new game mechanics of capturing roadblocks, which will be different from those mechanics that you have met before in our game - yes, yes, the capturing will take place in a new way. All these works are being done according to the plans we announced earlier, and at the moment we don't see any serious reasons for changes in the timeline - we expect the location to be released by the end of the second quarter of 2024.

Well, now it's time to check out the list of changes that start the branch 0.58 development. Let's go!

New game features

- Added new equipment: target designator. Target designators can be placed in the 3rd and 4th slots of the character's equipment. When the corresponding key is pressed, all players in the group who are in the same location as the sender will get a target marker with a distance designation. Sending out the markers consumes battery power. Discharging depends on the number of group members who received the maker. The device requires faction and is available for purchase in the Big Village, Canyon, Testing Grounds, and Tunnels locations.
- The target designator markers are displayed in the group list, next to the character's name.
- Added new equipment: walkie-talkie. The walkie-talkie allows you to communicate by voice with players in a group with the walkie-talkie sound effect. It works also between locations and is available for purchase in the locations "Big Village", "Tunnels", "Canyon", "Coast" and "Testing Ground".
- Now, if your teammate in the group has been killed, you will see the marker of the place of his death on the screen. Thus you will understand where he was killed.
- Group markers and group member identification stick to the edges of the screen if they are not in the line of sight.

- New sandbags have been added to the game, which can be installed in the "Canyon" location and the upcoming "Foothills" location. The bags are installed and repaired with a shovel. Several players can take part in the repair and installation of bags. Since the installation of bags has been greatly simplified, it was decided that the bags do not need to be saved in the state of the location and they will be deleted after a server restart. Also, these bags will self-destruct over time. You can buy them from merchants in the location "Canyon" and "Foothills".
- Players can now quickly get off a motorcycle. If done at speed, the character may take damage, but it is much faster than a full stop and get-off.
- Players can now use medical kits and healing stimulants while riding a motorcycle.
- Engineers now receive notifications of low battery and destruction of their equipment (MRP, MHP, and jammers).
- Now recon drones are created not by quest, but on rigs in the location “Testing Ground”. The quest “Faction Order” is required for production. Those players who have completed this quest before do not need to do it again. Also, drone creation now does not require “Faction Arsenal 2”, but it does require clan level 5.
- The “self-destruct” mode of the Recon Drone has been replaced with the “kamikaze” mode. In this mode, the drone dives to the designated target at a higher speed, but without the ability to adjust the flight.
- Drone Power Module, Drone Navigation Module, and Drone CPU can now be put up for commission.
- Stationary machine guns have been improved: firing them now looks more interesting, and their scatter and increased damage allow for better suppression of the enemy.
- Stationary machine guns can now be reloaded through the inventory while in use.

Weapons and armor

- Added new level 35 pistol - “Udav” in 9x21 caliber. It has an excellent rate of fire, and magazine capacity, as well as a very good armor-piercing ability. This pistol will be useful in PVP as a short-range weapon. The ability to create 9x21 M1 ammo has been added to the recipes. The pistol and ammo, as well as the GSL-02 silencer, can be purchased from traders in the “Canyon” and “Testing Ground” locations. The in-game store has added “Udav” pistol painted into “snake-style” skin, because “Udav” means boa. The pistol is sold as a kit with a silencer and scope. This pistol will not be sold all the time and only for a limited time.
- The ballistics of the weapon has been redesigned. It became more similar to what players are used to seeing in other games: if a weapon is designed for close combat, it will be effective only in close distance, and if it is designed for long-range combat, it will be effective at long distances. Thus, the class of weapons in the game has become more pronounced. For example, now shooting from pistols or shotguns at 200-300 meters becomes ineffective: bullets fall fast enough, and lose their energy (and damage) depending on the distance.
- Breath holding is now more effective at stabilizing the aiming swing.
- Fixed an issue that caused firing damage to not decrease depending on distance.
- The spread of all weapons has become more comfortable for the game. Separately emphasize that the influence of recoil and frequency of single shots remained, but now it is more predictable.
- The armor penetration of such pistols as Glock 17, Springfield and GSh-18 has been increased.
- GSh-18 can now be fitted with Point-X sight and GSL-01 silencer.
- Slightly reduced the accuracy of 12 Caliber bullets.
- Now 12-gauge shots do not have an additional multiplier (bonus) to damage and armor-piercing in PVE, and also removed an additional multiplier for drone damage. The Miner class can handle PVE content well without additional help.
- Switching to the pistol from any other weapon is now 50% faster, so you can get the pistol faster than switching to another primary weapon.
- SL silencers now reduce damage by 15% instead of 20%.
- Silencers now almost always hide tracers. This has a positive effect on the stealth effect.
- Players can now always see their own tracers when firing through a scope (even if a silencer is used), to make it easier to correct their shooting, especially at long ranges.
- The maximum number of explosives in a location that can be set by an engineer is now 10 (total for MON-50 and “Burdock”).
- Fixed a bug that caused the total number of MON-50 mines and “Burdock” explosives installed in a location to be incorrectly displayed.
- Mines MON-50 and “Burdock” now have one common counter of the installed explosives on the location.
- Mines MON-50 and “Burdock” can now be dropped when a character dies.
- Shooting at MON-50 mines can now lead to the following results: the mine will explode, the mine will be destroyed without exploding, or nothing will happen. Thus, players now have a chance to clear the mine with a shot without exploding, but at the same time, the mine has a chance to survive an additional shot.
- M1 helmets of both factions are now medium armor class.
- Armor, especially heavy armor, now reduces a character's movement speed more severely.
- Quick grenade throw has been improved.

- The reticle of the KITE-2 sight has been redesigned. It is now more convenient to use this sight.
- The PO-1 reticle became identical to the PO-2 reticle.
- The PO-3 reticle has received additional divisions.
- Fixed a bug that caused the scope to swing harder than necessary at high FPS.
- Improved bullet hit particles on surfaces (ground, rocks, wood, metal).
- Now your aiming will not be “swing harder” as much if you get a hit while you are aiming.
- Axes and bats are now displayed behind the character's back if they are assigned to the first slot.

Other changes

- Monster spawn is now always disabled during roadblocks capture on all PvP locations. All monsters that are out of the player's line of sight or far away from the players will die automatically at the time of the start of a roadblock capture. Those monsters that were visible to the players at the time of the start of the capturing or were in range will remain alive until the players themselves kill them.
- Added new animations of emotion: “Rock” and “Django”.
- Fixed a bug that caused graphics settings to be incorrectly applied (or reset).
- Invulnerability on revival on MRP is now no longer than 1 second.
- Fixed a bug that was causing glare to appear on collimators.
- The miner’s “Hustler” skill now works more correctly.
- Improved interface of the control settings menu.
- In the game settings, in the “Interface” section, a new option has been added: selecting simplified damage identification. Now you will be able to choose a “hit-marker” in the form of a crosshair or use the usual damage identification with damage information.
- FPS in the main menu is limited to 60 frames, and VSync is forced to be activated. This is to reduce resource consumption while the player is in the main menu. In general, we recommend using similar settings while playing the game.
- Optimization of some on-screen widgets has been performed.
- Improved the light in the weapon painting interface.
- Fixed an issue that caused the number of particles and sounds when hit with 12 Caliber shots to be many times greater in third-person than it actually should be. This could cause performance and stability issues when a lot of miners are gathered at an event.
- Fixed a stone in sector C6-3 in the location “Canyon”, in which it was possible to install equipment.
- Fixed design issues in the locations “Solnechniy Outskirts”, “Coast”, “Exclusion Zone” and “ The Big Village”.
- Improved lighting in tunnels with bandits in the location “Testing Ground”.
- Healing grenades can now drop when a character dies.
- Slightly revised the chances of dropping loot from phalanxes and drones.
- Arenas now have their own simplified character identification.
- Added POSP scopes in paid coloring to the in-game store.
- Improved caching of game files. For users with sufficient RAM, we recommend using the “Use caching for game assets” option in the game settings.

Please update client of the game,
Your WTLOnline Team

Update 0.57.17

Good day, fighters! Today, quite unexpectedly, Friday came and we released update 0.57.17!
Defender of the Fatherland Day!
23th of February many countries of CIS celebrate “Defender of the Fatherland Day”. Our team congratulates everyone involved on Defender of the Fatherland Day! May each of your days be filled with strength, courage, and confidence as you engage in the most epic word battles at Korovie in our favorite game!

Our team congratulates all the defenders on this holiday and gifts everyone a 2-day Premium!!!

A small bonus in the in-game store is the symbolic “Telogreika” armor set. This armor set has the same characteristics as the entry-level Leather armor set but with increased durability. Also included are improved felt boots. This set of armor can be placed in your account inventory, and it can also be sold on commission.
Lunar New Year
The old man in a white robe thanks all the fighters for appeasing the spirits and leaves the WTLOnline universe. All fillers and components for creating fireworks have been removed from the game. Lunar New Year items will also be removed from the in-game store.
Premium status
Now Premium status increases the amount of clan points received when completing clan quests by 20%. This introduction will allow players to receive the points they need to develop their clan a little bit faster. In general, if a clan consists of active players who use Premium and actively complete daily tasks, then such an innovation can significantly speed up the development of the clan.
Other changes
• The fishing rod is no longer displayed for characters wearing a biker jacket;
 • Fixed minor animation flaws in some animations of emotions;
 • Now through the inventory, you can only reload the weapon that the character is holding, and now the reloading animation will be played;
 • Minor bugs in the design of the “Eastern Territories” location have been fixed.

Lunar New Year has begun!

Good day, fighters!

The Old man in a white robe has appeared in WTL again, which means that the celebration of the Lunar New Year has already begun!

As before, The Old man will offer you to appease the elemental spirits, and you can receive gifts in return! The gifts are not the same as before this time - they are better! Now you can get paint cans of 5 elements: fire, metal, water, earth, and wood! These cans can be applied to weapons such as MSR-10, MSR-12, L96A1, Vepr 12, and PDW! So instead of one weapon of a certain element, as before, now you can color all high-level weapons in one element! Also, now you can trade fillers between each other at the Old man and trade them in for treats!

The event starts when the update is released and will continue through and including February 20. At the end of the event, all fillers will be removed from the game.

In addition, the following changes have been made:

- Increased health regeneration value for almost all food that can be cooked;
- Fixed an issue where crabs would attack from underground;
- Crocodile will now not run far away from its spawn;
- Fixed an issue where smoke and gas grenades prevented monsters from attacking players.
