Saved Custom Tasks Fix. Patch Notes: 0.42 EB Hotfix #2

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed bug that caused saved custom tasks to disappear / not load

Patch Notes: 0.42 EB

Happy new year from the Aim Lab Team!

We're back at you again with Update 0.42EB - Bringing with it a whole bunch of love to the Profile menu, a new mode for training projectile-based weapons and a full Reaction time breakdown chart!

New Features
  • Predictionshot - Most games back in the day relied on a system called "Hitscan", in which the second you shot, an invisible laser would go from your crosshair to where you were looking. Instantly.
As games have developed, so to have ballistic systems, as such we see more and more games straying from the Hitscan style and moving more into Realism, with bullets travelling as they would in real life.
Predictionshot aims to help all players, from veterans to new players, to get to grips with leading targets by instinct.
Predictionshot is an expansion upon the standard Strafeshot mode - Featuring an indicator for where you should be firing to ensure that your shot lands where your target will be, rather than where it is.
This indicator is dynamic, meaning it changes based on distance, target speed and even the speed of the projectile of your weapon, so don't be afraid to set up a custom weapon to run this mode - It's what it's made for after all.
You can find Predictionshot in the "Sandbox" category of modes.

  • Task Data History - A long requested feature - We are happy to announce the introduction of proper historical graphs for your performance!
These can be found in the "Profile" section of the game, under the new "Task Data" tab.
This new history section allows you to see everything you'll need to build an idea of your improvements, from your score over time to your average performance and percentiles - To your best result in any of the six categories provided!

  • Reaction Time and Gain Breakdown - Another long requested feature - Once again found in the Profile section. You will find the "Reports" category has been added, and with it - A full breakdown of your Reaction Time and Gain average.
You will find your Reaction Time broken down into 3 parts
    1. Perceptual Speed, or how long it takes you to identify a target
    2. Cognitive Speed, or how long it takes you to decide to shoot a target after identifying it
    3. And finally - Motor Speed, or how long in Milliseconds it takes you to flick to your intended target.
These three categories cover all aspects of your engagement time, and, as such, are best used to help diagnose what is holding you back, helping you to see if it's your movements that are slow, or if you take a little too long to decide to shoot, making it a useful tool for players and coaches alike!

Build 0.41 EB: Graybox Map Customization is here!

An early christmas present, and a sneak peek of things to come

Update 0.41EB is here! And with it comes something you've wanted for a long while~

Graybox Customisation

Aim Lab made its debut with Graybox, a simple environment with very little to it - A staging ground for everything that we have now. It's a good map, but it's time it got a fresh lick of paint.

0.41EB brings a new section to the custom suite - Graybox, in which you can customise your Graybox environment to your hearts content. Control the texture and colour of the map with a variety of presets and full RGB Spectrum adjustment, to get the look you want.

Any changes made to Graybox also affect non-default Graybox maps, like the maps for Snipershot and Pentakill, so you need not worry about having to set it for each and every mode and map. Simply set it up once and you're good to go!

Bug fixes and tweaks.

-Changed Apex Legends FOV from actual 4:3 degrees to ingame FOV value
-Disabled FOV settings for Rules of Survival
-Fixed CircleTrackCustom title showing up as Blinkshot
-Added PUBG Scope settings.
-Fixed font issues in loading screen for mode
-Fixed Register screen to say "Login" instead of "Return"
-Fixed scoring percentile issues in Gridshot, Microshot, Strafetrack and Circletrack
-Fixed lighting issue in Graybox Freetrack, Blinkshot and Ninjashot.

What's coming next

Being able to customise colours and textures is all well and good - But I think we all want to be able to take maps a little further.

Well, have I got good news for you. Our team has been hard at work this holiday season putting together something you've been asking for for some time.

I am happy to announce that Map Creation will be coming to Aim Lab, just one of the many things we're eager to get in your hands come the new year.

We'll have a little more to show off soon, but for now - Stay tuned.

Closing notes

This year has been our fastest growing year since we first announced Aim Lab. In less than one year our community has absolutely exploded, from just a few thousand users to us hitting the absolutely colossal landmark of one million users on Steam!

Aim Lab would not be what it is today without the support of people like you. Your feedback has helped us to take what we had and make it so much more complete - And we've still got a ways to go.

This year has been absolutely huge for us - And we hope that we can make next year even better!

Thank you to our wonderful community members, no matter the platform. You have helped to forge a community of positivity and accessibility the likes of which i've personally never had the joy of knowing before. You've forged a community that people are not afraid to engage in, one that users of all skill levels feel included in, and one that people are not afraid to ask for help in.

You guys are the best community we could have ever asked for.

And so, it is from all of us here at the Aim Lab Team that we say - Thank you!

We hope that each and every one of you enjoy this holiday season, and we look forward to seeing you again in the New Year!
