Update 0.25: Eat, Pray, Fly

Main Changes


[h2]Ability Tree Spells[/h2]

Ability Tree now contains two new spells: "Bastion" will give you 10 seconds of protective barriers and health regeneration, and "Warrior's Call" will make surrounding enemies attack you, keeping your allies safe. And good old "Earth Stomp" received updated visuals and sound effects.

[h2]New Ways to Travel between the Islands[/h2]

Back in the day some priests had forseen the appearance of wind currents, reaching from the frozen wasteland of Arkana all the way up to the flying islands. It wasn't an impressive foresight, but those winds proved to be useful, making it possible to upkeep the flight height while traveling between the islands.

For those characters who prefer expressing their creativity in every aspect of the game, we added a new floating platform module. It can be used to build bridges between the islands, or even entire floating houses and strongholds. The only catch is that they decay much faster than regular modules, so make sure to keep them protected by your Sentinels.

[h2]Sanctuary and Islands Update[/h2]

You can now activate the portal leading to the Sanctuary. The fourth and the last mask is kept safe by the Plagued Thresher on the Poison Temple island. Having activated the Sanctuary, you will be able to teleport to the biome's main tower, from which you'd gain an easy access to all islands of the area.

[h2]Rituals Update[/h2]

Every update brings more and more diversity to the magical world of Arkana. From now on players will get their own personolized rune placement for every Ritual, as well as different ways to accomplish some other Rituals.

[h2]Cooking Update[/h2]

Cooking UI has experienced some changes. In particular - buttons for cooking and collecting fresh dishes are now bigger and placed higher than they used to be. At the same time we've significantly shortened the cooking time.

[h2]Nightly Mystic Cubes[/h2]

We've been hearing reports of Mystic Cubes appearing in the world once again. Finding one will provide you a fancy reward. Yet finding them isn't so easy - they appear at night all over the flying islands. They are quite rare, and just getting out of your shelter to gaze into the skies to seek for the Cubes' beacons is worth your while.

- Reduced the /unstuck command timer to 5 seconds.

- You will no longer get smited by a lightning during the calm weather.

- Fixed the disappearing knees on the bone armor set.
- Elite monsters will no longer leave the idols' reach.
- Fixed night skeletons' torches.

Update 0.24: What's the weather like today?

[h2]Weather[/h2]

"Ain't no cloud in the skies!" - we'd have answered you a day ago. But the weather has changed drastically overnight: cold winds of the frozen wasteland below bring frigid storms to the islands floating above. At the same time all those fluffy clouds in between the islands erupt in thunder, making skies unsafe for travels. An unprepared adventurer venturing out of the Cradle is risking to become a frozen corpse in mere minutes.

[h2]Rituals[/h2]

Once upon a time, dragons gifted humanity secret rituals of transforming flame into the frozen flame. With its help people gained unimaginable strength and ability to use magic.

But the details of such rituals were lost to time. Only lone Obelisks remain, rewarding players with frozen flame for solving their secrets.

[h2]New Islands[/h2]

This time we've added 15 more islands to the outskirts of the Cradle of Keepers. Among them some of our seasoned players will find familiar locations - the Poisonous Temple and an island with a Titan.

This isn't the finalised version of the islands - we'll keep on improving them over the future updates. The portal in the Cradle of Keepers is still closed, meaning you can't enter the Sanctuary quite yet.

[h2]World Map and Beacons[/h2]

The world map now works properly and accurately represents the placement of islands in the world. On top of that, you can now find a new device in the world, that will show the player nearby objects that they haven't discovered yet.

[h2]Basic Tips in the Prologue[/h2]

We've added some basic combat and mechanical tips to the Prologue. It's just a start, and we'll be updating both the visuals and the tips themselves in the future updates.

- Removed the axe from the first chest. Now you have to craft it yourself.
- Cooked food now grant you bonus temporary health.
- Monsters don't hit so hard anymore.
- Monsters will not despawn from their camps.
- You can build under your friend's Sentinel's protection.
- Disabled the mechanic that made two or more overlapping heat sources to cause overheat.
- Rebalanced damage of basic and special attacks.
- Campfires now have two cooking slots to make more diverce dishes.

- Weather on the Cradle of Keepers is now always comfortable and will not make you freeze.

[h2]UI[/h2]

- Skill Tree now displaces stat changes per level.
- Elemental damage numbers now display in a different colour.
- Updated icons for the small Sentinel and the Returnal Stone.
- Entering building mode automatically opens the building category and highlights the active module.
- Death Screen now displays you the cause of your death.
- Improved tip visuals.

[h2]Sounds[/h2]

- Updated character's first spawn sound.
- Added insect sounds.
- Sounds emitting from from secret chests are now more distinct.

- Updated resource gathering animation.
- Updated female sleeping animation.
- Updated sprint animation.
- Fixed leg placement on uneaven surfaces.
- Updated Sanctuary's atmosphere.
- Updated the visual effects and textures of the Cursed.
- Added the /unstuck command usable from chat to recover from being, well, stuck.

- Character will no longer remain in vertical state during the flight.
- Elite mage will take actions properly.
- Building hammer will no longer be pulled out as a weapon.
- Camera will no longer suddenly zoom in/out in customization mode.
- Food now correctly displace the buff duration.
- Attacking while not having enough Stamina will no longer stop it from regenerating.
- Weapons will no longer become invisible if you pull them out and roll at the same time.
- You can now properly load your save using "Enter" in the menu.
- Character will no longer celebrate the spear throw with a kick.

Update 0.23: Up!

Main Changes


[h2]New Floating Islands[/h2]


New shards of the once magnificent Ancient Valley soared into the skies. These are relatively safe areas, providing shelter to mighty oaks, berry bushes and tranquil bubbles, with the Cursed inhabiting separated ruins.

This update brings you eight new islands. Among them you will find two islands with the Skull Hunter and the Smoldering Warlock. Our seasoned players should already know that these powerful Cursed keep hold on the "keys" to the portal in the Cradles of Keepers.

As it has been told before, magical currents shuffle the islands in every new world. This may either bring your encounters with the old friends closer, or make you work harder to reach them.

[h2]Skill Tree Update[/h2]


Spirit of Defenders branch has received new abilities, passive characteristics and two experimental spells.

The Order of Defenders will retain its unique right to change the skill tree of their Spirit at any moment without getting the approval from other Orders.

[h2]New Building UI[/h2]


Each and every architect needs effective instruments. We're constantly improving the building system and this time decided to put some work on the UI. It now takes up much less space, and hopefully became much more convenient.

[h2]Tales of NPCs[/h2]


Arkana's inhabitants know much. One should listen closely to their tales, as they may contain key information for discovering new interesting places and events.

[h2]DLSS[/h2]
Good news for those who own NVidea graphics cards with DLSS technology. Frozen Flame now supports it! You can enable it in the video settings.

- Increased the number of branches gained from trees;
- Increased the drop rate of masks from the Cursed;
- Destroying Cursed camps' ventings now rewards you with branches;
- Furious Grunt's HP increased to 500;
- Added new resource to rivers and lakes: "Fish";
- New recipe: "Cooked fish";
- Character now receives different slowing effects depending on their armour type;
- Reworked bow attacks;
- Monsters no longer consume players' Flame;
- You can now pack different kinds of stations;
- Added privacy settings to the stations;
- Friends can now build within their commin territory;
- Ressurection Plinth can now be activated by friends;
- The funcionality of the Sentinel of Chronos and the Resurrection Plinth has been separated. Sentinel now protects the territory from others' buildings, and the latter now acts as a resurrection point;

- Increased the amount of Flame consumed by the "Hawk" ability;
- Crystals no longer grant Flame on use;
- Players are no longer rewarded with Flame for gathering and cooking;
- Campfires are now fueled with branches;
- Increased the patrolling and the agression zone for monsters;
- Wooden crates and the building hammer are now crafted on the workbench;
- Monsters now can consume each others' Flame;
- Added new building modules: roofs and quarter walls;
- Sleeping now regenerates HP;
- All-around weapon reballancing;
