Patch v1.22.0-rc0

Default version of the game, we want to make sure to have a chance to discover bugs and adjust the balancing, to give you the best game experience possible.

Access the Unstable branch on Steam by right clicking City Game Studio in your Steam library, and then select ‘Properties’. In the new window, select ‘Betas’. The Unstable branch should now be available for you to choose from.

Please leave any feedback you may have in the appropriate channel in our Discord, or in the subforum on Steam.

As always, remember to be considerate towards players not partaking in the Unstable, in case they want to avoid spoilers.

Please make sure to make backups of your save files before playing.

New Year, Fresh Start

Hi everyone!

A quick update to start 2025! (yes, already!)

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
Windows was giving us some attitude. The game would crash on first play, like some sort of welcome gesture to new players (not very welcoming, I know). And some game panels would sometimes refuse to load, which gave a rather... interesting... experience? That's all fixed now!

[h3]Misc[/h3]
I've updated the copyright to 2025. Feels weird writing that, doesn't it? Time flies when you're developing games!
Also added a tooltip to the exit panel, because sometimes a bit more explanation doesn't hurt.

[h3]What's Coming Next[/h3]
I'm still working on:
- Reworking studio furnishing (with those copyable templates)
- Reducing console manufacturing costs based on sales

That's all for today! As usual, if you find any other bugs, don't hesitate to let me know.

Have a great gaming session!

City Game Studio joins the Steam Winter Sale (-25%)

Hey everyone!

I'm super excited to announce that City Game Studio is part of the Steam Winter Sale with a 25% discount! You can grab it for $11.99 instead of $15.99.

If you've been following the recent updates, you know that v1.21.0 brought the biggest changes to the game, including the Studio Director feature. This lets you automate game creation while you focus on managing your company, designing your next console, building new studios, and handling your digital store. And that's just scratching the surface!

For those just discovering the game: City Game Studio is a deep management game where you start in 1976 with a tiny game studio and grow it into a gaming empire. You'll manage multiple studios, create games, build consoles, compete with (or buy out) your rivals, and much more!
And speaking of what's next - I'm currently working on the next big update planned for March/April 2025, which will include:

Studio layout templates (copy/paste your studio setups!)
Console manufacturing cost reduction based on sales

I want to thank all of you who've been supporting the game's development. Whether you're a long-time player or just thinking about jumping in, now's a great time with the Winter Sale discount!

Take care,
Xavier aka Binogure

P.S. If you run into any issues, don't hesitate to let me know. I'm always here to help! :) PS 2: This is my upcoming game, that should be out for $2.99 on April 7th 2025. I'm sure you're gonna love a DEMOCRATIC monpoly on Steroids with TEAM !

The Express Update: Bug Fix 2

Hey everyone!

A quick update today, but one that fixes some rather... annoying issues!

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
We had two sneaky bugs playing hide and seek in the code:
- Sometimes, games were being released before their rating was computed! As a result, they were lost in limbo, with no sales and impossible to discontinue. It's like sending someone to a job interview without a resume!
- Similarly, some games were retiring before their lifetime was calculated. Result: even more backstage chaos. That's now a thing of the past!

That's all for today! As always, if you find any other bugs, don't hesitate to let me know.

Happy gaming!

Operation Stability

Hi everyone!

Today, big stability update! The game had a tendency to crash a bit too often for my taste, so I spent quite some time fixing all that.

[h3]Bug Fixes[/h3]
The game had some issues with random crashes:
- When making a game sequel (as if making a game wasn't stressful enough!)
- When releasing a game for your future console (looks like the game doesn't like time travel)
- And when porting a game as a publisher (that one was just to annoy you)

I also fixed some other stuff:
- Czech translations have been reworked
- The company logo creator had a silent error on first launch. The kind that makes the game act weird without telling you why. That's fixed!
- Added a one-frame delay for game updates. Basically, this prevents information from displaying incorrectly or the game from crashing

[h3]Misc[/h3]
- Improved Steam integration (because we like it when things work well with Steam)
- Brought back the old company/studio button (sometimes, better is the enemy of good!)

[h3]Known Issues[/h3]
There's still that small issue with online games where the number of units sold includes retention figures. I haven't forgotten about it, I'm working on it!
