The BIG update!

Howdy to you all!

I am very happy to present you the BIG Update. City Game Studio has been released on another online platform, so I have dedicated 100% of my time to City Game Studio just to provide you with an even more complete game!
Offices
Since studios are customizable in City Game Studio, well, there are more floor textures, as well as a foosball table, televisions, air field hockey, tables, arcades and pinball machines. Now, if you own Sneak In, then you'll get two new items with the game on them! I think it's so cool that I can put refs to other games in the game.
Consoles!!
2017 was the year I drew all the consoles featured in City Game Studio. Clearly all the consoles revealed at that time, after 2017 consoles have been added afterwards in the game. Anyway, point is, after 5 years of drawing almost every day, its time to redraw the most iconic consoles in City Game Studio. So almost all of Grantendo's consoles were redrawn as well as some of Deny's and Wataggi's. I put a lot of effort into bringing back the 80's vibe, so I hope you like it!

Besides, I added 3 more consoles. This way, when you start the game in 1976, you can already choose between several consoles. The first one is the Grey TV from Grantendo, the second one is the Telsun Gunpowder from Roberto Industries and the last one is the Handboy Colors from Grantendo. You'll recognize their names, and I hope you're as excited as I am to have even more choices.
Competitors
Now there is a button to send devkits to all competitors at once. Many people asked for it, so it is now there. However, the button doesn't have exactly the same effect as if you were negotiating deals one by one rather than all at once. When you customize the offers you can send a number of devkits in addition to the exclusivity contracts, while if you use the button to contact all competitors at once you can only negotiate the duration of the exclusivity, you will not be able to negotiate the number of devkits.

Nevertheless, the button that allows you to buy the competitors in one single click is back. Again, many of you asked for it, so it's here. But with one small addition, from now on when you buy a competitor, in addition to their studios, employees, game engines and a part of their fans, you acquire their present and past games. And that's 100% free in this wonderful update!
Misc
The game ending has been moved to 2025, which adds 5 more years for everyone to score even better in the global leaderboards. Events have been added to further enhance the immersion of the simulation that City Game Studio offers.

A new option has been added to disable the visual effects in City Game Studio's mini-games. Also, a cheat command has been added to automatically complete a game creation step. On the interface side, two new panels have been added in the financial results, and a small tooltip has also been added to indicate how to open the financial results! So these two panels, one summarizes all the published games, while the other all the consoles ever created. So you can know which was your best game, or the one that was the most profitable.

The ModMaker has had two small additions, it is possible to add and rename developers who make unsolicited applications. Basically their names are one letter away from the names of famous video game developers, so you can restore their real names.

With the addition of support for 16/10 resolution screens, I think I've covered all the new features in this new version of City Game Studio.

There are still more features to come in City Game Studio, because I have to put the development of my next game on hold, until I have a stable version of Godot Engine 4.0, so I' ll be working on City Game Studio full time.

See you around!

Biggest discount! 35%

Hello!

So I' m preparing a major update for City Game Studio. It is going to somehow link City Game Studio with Sneak In, which is another game that is also discounted right now.

In the upcoming update, there is going to be a lot more furniture, like foosball tables, televisions, arcades... Some furniture will look like Sneak In and even City Game Studio. It is only about the aspect of the furniture to come, but the stats of the items will remain the same regardless of their design, whether it is Sneak In or City Game Studio.

As I said earlier, this is a cross promotion, meaning that you will have more skins for City Game Studio items when you also own Sneak In.

There are other changes to come. I'll talk about them when the update itself is announced.

Cheers

QoL Update

Hello gamers!

It's Friday and I hope you're having a good day. It's already one week after the last big update v1.8.0, and it is nearly a habit to release an update one week after a big one.

Therefore we jump straight to this 1.8.2. But, where is the 1.8.1? Don't worry, I'll cover all the changes since v1.8.0.

First of all some additions to the negotiation with the console manufacturers. Negotiating with Grantendo can leave a bitter taste. Would you feel more comfortable if you had an ongoing relationship with the console manufacturers? There is now an indicator that lets you know your relationship with the console manufacturers. It goes from friendly to unfriendly as well as neutral.
The more you work with a console manufacturer, the easier it will be to negotiate with them. And the opposite is also true.

It was most important part of this update. However, alongside this update there are new tooltips for the marketing campaign management panel, to help you understand how it works.

Otherwise, it's mostly patches that improve the stability of the game and allow you to play for long sessions without crashing.

That's it for today, we'll see you soon for new content.

Kisses to all.

Ultrawide monitor support

Hello tycooners!

I hope you've been enjoying the dark mod update I pushed back in March. I know you're eagger for more City Game Studio content, which is why today should be particular interest to you as I officially launch the v1.8.0.
Ultra wide monitor support
Since February 2019, when City Game Studio release in early access, you keep asking me for new features. One in particular frequently comes up, the support of ultra wide screens.
City Game Studio uses Godot Engine, a very powerful Open Source game engine. This engine does not handle resolutions in the same way as Unity3D or Unreal Engine. Lacking experience with Godot Engine I thought that supporting ratios other than 16:9 would be impossible.

Nevertheless, I decided to implement this feature. One week later, I manage to create a functional version, yet very experimental. I will have to recreate most of the assets of the game, but also rework all the scenes of City Game Studio. Icing on the cake, by adding the support of ultra wide screens, the camera algorithm of City Game Studio has been simplified.

Getting this feature in place helped me to better understand how to handle different screen ratios with Godot Engine. One thing I can say is that it really is well thought out, much better than some other game engines. Thanks Godot Engine!
Other changes
While I was working on the ultra-wide screen support, Diminatsis, a modder from City Game Studio, brought up a point. If you publish an online game, then that game stays on the market as long as you don't take it off the market. Unfortunately, when you sign an exclusivity contract with a console manufacturer, you lose the right to remove a game from the market. Therefore, you cannot remove an online game for which you have signed an exclusivity contract from the market.
For now on, after one year, you can pull out of the market any title that is exclusive to a console manufacturer.

tht014, another player from City Game Studio also pointed out inconsistencies while launching an advanced game by shifting the start date to 2014 ( for instance).
In such a configuration, when creating a new game, development costs indicated by the interface did not correspond to the real costs of City Game Studio. Therefore, I looked into this problem, and I noticed several inconsistencies regarding game development costs. I corrected the license costs of some consoles while fixing the bug. On top of that I tweaked the quality of the game reports. Game reports quality, i.e. number of tips they contain, is proportional to the difficulty of the game.
