Enhancing the Game, One Detail at a Time

This week, the journey through City Game Studio was marked by a focus on refinement and balance. In the realm of the Steam Deck, I delved into the intricacies, ensuring even the smallest details didn't go unnoticed. Employee and studio renaming processes were streamlined, enhancing the overall experience. Additionally, addressing the first-time launch scenario, the game now starts fullscreen, immersing you from the very beginning.

In the user interface realm, readability was prioritized, especially for in-game tutorials at lower resolutions. To offer players clear insights, tooltips were revamped, specifically addressing scenarios like overloaded servers during online game sales.

The very essence of City Game Studio, its logo, underwent a thoughtful redesign, capturing the essence of our creative venture.

Balancing was a key focus. Losing fans is a part of the game, but now, it happens in a way that feels fair. The convention scoring system received a much-needed update, ensuring accurate reflections of your studio's impact.

Steam's review came with valuable feedback. Although not yet Steam Deck compatible, I've meticulously tackled every issue pointed out, ensuring City Game Studio is primed for the next evaluation. This process, while challenging, reinforces the commitment to delivering the best gaming experience.

Thank you for your unwavering support; it drives every adjustment, every tweak. Together, we're not just playing a game; we're crafting an immersive world. Stay tuned for more updates, and let's continue this amazing journey together!

Cheers,
Xavier aka Binogure

Patch v1.16.0-rc3

Default version of the game, we want to make sure to have a chance to discover bugs and adjust the balancing, to give you the best game experience possible.

Access the Unstable branch on Steam by right clicking City Game Studio in your Steam library, and then select ‘Properties’. In the new window, select ‘Betas’. The Unstable branch should now be available for you to choose from.

Please leave any feedback you may have in the appropriate channel in our Discord, or in the subforum on Steam.

As always, remember to be considerate towards players not partaking in the Unstable, in case they want to avoid spoilers.

Please make sure to make backups of your save files before playing.

Adapting for the Future

Hey everyone,

This week, I've been hard at work, striving to make City Game Studio even more enjoyable and accessible. Your feedback and support continue to drive me in this ongoing journey.
UI Enhancements
I've added a feature that might seem small but enhances the overall user experience. Now, you can close tooltips with a simple click on it, streamlining your interactions.

In response to feedback from users with lower resolutions, I've made improvements as well. The currency and fanbase change labels will now hide on low-resolution screens, giving you a cleaner interface.
Bug Fixes
Low-resolution screens had caused some icons to appear distorted, disrupting the game's aesthetic. I've tackled this issue, ensuring a smooth and visually appealing experience, no matter your screen size.
Gamepad Layout
Preparing for the future, I've refreshed the gamepad layout to better align with Steam Deck compatibility. I'm committed to ensuring that your experience on this exciting platform is top-notch.

Despite the ongoing challenge of waiting for Steam's review to make City Game Studio Steam Deck compatible, I'm not slowing down. I'm continuing to fine-tune the game to ensure it's a fantastic experience for all.

Thank you for your unwavering support and feedback. Together, we're shaping City Game Studio into a truly remarkable gaming haven. Stay tuned for more exciting updates!

Cheers,

Game Dev Evolution: Unveiling the Latest Steam Deck & UI Enhancements

Hey Everyone,

I've been hard at work, fueled by your invaluable feedback and a deep passion for making City Game Studio the ultimate gaming experience (thank you CirMric)
Steam Deck: Your Gateway to the Future
In response to your feedback and with a keen eye on the Steam Deck, I've made several enhancements. Font rendering is now sharper for emails, ensuring a seamless reading experience. The menu and panels are optimized for lower resolutions, allowing everyone to enjoy the game at its best, even below 1600x900. Tooltips have been adjusted, removing keyboard and mouse references for a cleaner, more accessible interface.
UI Improvements: Elegance in the Details
In the quest for excellence, the UI has undergone substantial refinements. The email panel sports revamped icons for trash, spam, and restore options, making managing your inbox a breeze. The game score rendering in the "Game of the Year" section has been enhanced, offering a more immersive experience. To provide you with greater insights, tooltips have been added to the columns in the financial tab. Last but not least, the studio's shop has received a facelift.
What's Next?
Thanks to valuable feedback from CirMric, I'm taking Steam compatibility to the next level. This journey is a collaborative effort, and I can't wait for you to experience these improvements firsthand. You're shaping City Game Studio into something extraordinary.
