CS:GO player count dips after Valve starts charging $15 for Ranked

Heroic CS:GO player tests positive for COVID-19 at IEM Cologne 2021
Heroic will play under quarantine at IEM Cologne after one of its CS:GO players tested positive for COVID-19. The positive result was discovered during the standard testing procedure which is required to leave the three-day quarantine before IEM Cologne, which is the first CS:GO LAN event since the pandemic began.
ESL and Heroic didn't identify which player has tested positive, but both state he had not been in close contact with ESL staff or other players, except the teammates he travelled with. "Based on the currently available facts, the entire Heroic team will remain in quarantine in accordance with our protocol. The player is in good condition and Heroic have decided to continue to compete from inside their quarantine," the ESL statement reads.
According to Heroic's statement, all players and staff are "without symptoms and in good condition," with all team members remaining quarantined inside their hotel rooms. The German health authorities have also been informed of the incident.

Once upon a time, when no scopes defined how good or bad you were, players started putting scotch tape on their televisions so they always knew where the centre of their crosshair was. Now though, it looks like one Counter-Strike: Global Offensive player has taken that up a notch.
TikTok user 'csgogoezhack' has discovered you can pull off some incredible AWP no scopes by using dental floss sticks in a certain way. Yep, you heard that right. They're using a custom flosshair that's not only good for your teeth, but your gaming skills too.
By gently taping the stick to the screen with the floss facing upwards, csgogoezhack frames their crosshair, giving them a window (literally) of opportunity every time someone walks past. As soon as someone enters the flosshair of doom, the AWP is fired, resulting in a super easy CS:GO no scope.

You've got to love the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive developers. Bemoaned by fans for a lack of communication, never fixing the 'right' things, and seemingly ignoring the community's repeated requests for things like higher tick servers, Valve's crack team nevertheless stick their heads over the parapet every few months and throw us a bone. At which point, everyone complains that said bone lacks the all-important marrow, it's the wrong type of bone, and we didn't ask for a god damn bone anyway Gaben pls...
