Ingenious Counter-Strike players are exploiting Steam's new notes function to score noscopes




Valve put out a beta client update for Steam yesterday that aims to significantly expand the usefulness of its overlay functionality. Users running the update are now just a Shift-Tab away from a redesigned layout, a refreshed screenshot manager, and, crucially, a new note-taking function, which lets you pin notes to the screen even while the overlay is minimised, and adjust their opacity so that you can still see the game behind them...

New CSGO skins from Valve probably made $11 million in one day

The new CSGO skins by Valve, named 'Anubis' in honour of one of the arenas in the FPS game, have likely generated $11 million (£8.8 million) in revenue already, based on analysis of Counter-Strike float values and CSGO cases. The Anubis skins arrive as the Counter-Strike 2 limited test continues, and we await the full arrival of the shooter sequel on Steam.

A CSGO skin has been sold for just over $1,400 (£1,124) partly owing to its notoriety among the Valve FPS game community for resembling a vagina. Available for the CSGO Five-Seven pistol, there are dozens of varieties of the 'Kami' skin, though one is seemingly favoured by some Counter-Strike players due to its suggestive design. The sale comes as the Counter-Strike 2 limited test continues, and CSGO cases suffer a decline in value.
