CS:GO 10 year coin - how to get the birthday coin

Valve's FPS has been around for 10 years. Yes, Counter-Strike Global Offensive is really that old and we can't quite believe it either. But, with CS:GO hitting that milestone, Valve is celebrating by offering some unique rewards and items. One of those is a unique coin, which acts as a piece of memorabilia. But, how do you get the CS:GO 10 year coin?

Well, due to CS:GO's anniversary celebrations being held for just one week, you won't have to put in too much time to grab the special item and add it to your collection. The coin doesn't do anything particularly special, but it is a great way to always remember that you were playing when the game celebrated this huge milestone.

CS:GO revives a 1.6 map to celebrate its tenth birthday

We know it's hard to believe, but Counter-Strike Global Offensive - CS:GO - is ten! It felt like only yesterday that fans were jumping from the original Counter-Strike game to this shiny new sequel and now it's a decade old. Alright, well... Maybe not quite yesterday, but we're still surprised that one of the best competitive FPS games out there is that old. You know what else is surprising? To celebrate this milestone, Valve is updating the CS:GO map pool and finally, officially, adding Tuscan to the shooter.

Wishing CS:GO a happy birthday, the development team shared a blog post detailing what fans can expect to see in-game to celebrate and - despite a flashy Sticker Capsule - the revelation that Tuscan would be joining the CS:GO map pool alongside locales like Anubis and Prime stands out.

"You've been patient, and it's finally here", the blog post announces. "Tuscan is available in all game modes, so jump [into] this classic map and put it through its paces!" Tuscan is one of the original Counter-Strike maps known for its' intimate close-quarters combat made up of narrow alleyways and open courtyards set on the Italian coast. Sounds nice, right?

Happy Birthday CS:GO!

It's CS:GO's 10th birthday, and we're celebrating with stickers, maps, and cupcakes!
10 Year Birthday Sticker Capsule
The community pulled together for the 10th anniversary sticker competition, and the results speak for themselves--the 10 Year Birthday Sticker Capsule contains over 60 community submitted designs, including an all new animated 'Lenticular' quality. Congratulations to the winners!
Maps
You've been patient, and it's finally here. Tuscan is available in all game modes, so jump in to this classic map and put it through its paces!

And that's not all: we've brought back Anubis and Breach to competitive matchmaking, and added Primetime and Blagai to Wingman!
Cake!
It wouldn't be a birthday without some cake... specifically, a cupcake topped with a birthday coin! For the next week (until Monday, August 22nd), CS:GO players with Prime status can grab their birthday coin by earning enough XP for their first in-game drop of the week.

Ten years. It's a big number, yet CS:GO is stronger than ever. Over the past 12 months alone, we've seen more players than ever before (averaging over 20 million monthly unique players), record viewership for Majors (2.7m concurrent viewers), and massive community support with over $70 million raised for professional organizations, teams, and players. The future could not look brighter.

Happy Birthday, CS:GO.

Stewie2k latest CS:GO pro to set sights on Valorant

Evil Geniuses' Jake 'Stewie2k' Yip has been the talk of the town following his recent announcement that he was ending his time as a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive pro player to pursue streaming with the aforementioned esports organisation. While that might lead you to believe that the 24-year old was finished with competitive gaming altogether, you'd be wrong. During a Twitch stream on August 11, just over two weeks after his retirement, Stewie2k revealed his ambitious plans to compete professionally at the top level of Valorant esports, even adding that he wouldn't be put off if there wasn't any initial interest from teams.

"Every day I'll be on stream. I'll be grinding ranked, [and] I'll be trying to get into scrims", Stewie2k revealed defiantly. "LCQ happens, Champions will happen, [then] off-season comes, [and] franchising comes... Even if I miss franchising, I'm down to keep streaming - watch and be the student of the game - and then get picked up."

Following on from this, Stewie2k added a hopeful "we'll see how it pans out" in regards to his upcoming attempts to get into a Valorant esports team in time for the start of 2023's partnered, region-based league - a system akin to Riot Games' League of Legends LEC and LCS competitions.
