CS:GO cases: every case available in the game

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been going now for 20 years, and over that time, the game has built quite a following for CS:GO cases. These little loot box items can be bought or dropped in your inventory after a game, giving you the option of unlocking one of the best CS:GO skins.

These aren't quick wins, though. To open a CS:GO weapon case, you'll need to buy a key from the Steam marketplace, which retail for $2.50/£1.79. You'll also need to work out which case you want to open. At the moment, there are 37 CS:GO cases available to buy right now - and that excludes Souvenir Packages dropped during big tournaments.

Each case contains a bunch of different skins that vary in rarity, condition, and price but landing the big prize - a rare special item - takes time, money, and a fair amount of luck, so don't expect overnight results.

Chickens are opening CS:GO cases now

Paul the Octopus predicted the 2010 World Cup, Sid the psychic seagull foretold Euro 2020 football matches, and now a group of chickens have sensed their pixelated brethren mere centimetres away and have taken to opening Counter-Strike: Global Offensive cases.

It's been a trend, over the years, for individuals to record en-masse case openings for social media platforms, but one player has taken this further by allowing their chickens to open their cases for them.

In a YouTube video uploaded by user 'Arrow,' a laptop that is running CS:GO has been placed on the ground outside and there are numerous chickens milling around. On their first attempt (two individuals can be heard in the video), one of them places a piece of chicken corn on the left-mouse button. One of the chickens eats it, causing the mouse to click on the open case button. Things go awry, however, when the laptop blue screens. It turns out that it's not only the in-game chickens that are devious.

CSGO ranks guide: how to get player and team rankings

As with so many things about Valve's behemoth FPS game, CS:GO ranks are hard to wrap your head around when starting out. There is little in the way of in-game explanations to help you figure out how to get started with CS:GO rankings. It doesn't help that earning your stripes will take a lot longer than in other competitive first-person shooters like Rainbow Six Siege and Overwatch, either.

CS:GO has continued to grow, now touting a concurrent player count of over one million during peak hours. That means there are a lot of new players learning the ropes and trying to adjust to one of the least forgiving multiplayer games of all time and gain CSGO ranks.

With 18 ranks, a lengthy road to getting ranked, and then the never-ending task of improving your rank lying ahead of you, we thought you could use a helping hand - here is a breakdown of CS:GO's ranking system.

Introducing the CSGO10 sticker contest

To celebrate CS:GO's upcoming 10th birthday we are accepting entries for another CS-themed sticker capsule.

This time, the theme is “CS:GO” (and CS:GO only). Over the last ten years CS:GO game has evolved from a beta to the most popular game on Steam, and we are excited to look through submissions to find great stickers that celebrate all things CS:GO! The sticker designs may be created in any style and all designs must be original with the exception of Counter-Strike logos or icons.

To help sort these themed submissions, please tag them with "CSGO10" in the title on the workshop (e.g. "CSGO10 | Sticker Name"). Previous workshop submissions are eligible for the capsule, just make sure to tag them so we can find them more easily.

All submissions for this event must be completed and submitted to the workshop by July 21st, 2022, and the capsule will release on or around CS:GO's 10th birthday (August 21, 2022). All items submitted for this event will still be eligible for future sticker capsules.

Good luck and have fun; we are excited to see what the community comes up with!
