6 Tanglewood Drive Rework Launches March 3rd, 2026

[p][/p][p]Welcome back, Ghost Hunters. We have some news for you.

Today we’re excited to announce that our reworked 6 Tanglewood Drive will be launching on 3rd March, 2026 for all platforms.

While we’d like to save the majority of the changes and surprises that await you with the map launch, we want to give a little detail on the why and how we’ve decided to rework such a fan-favourite location.
[/p]
The Visuals
[p]As with all our previous map reworks, our aim is to bring all our original locations up to the quality we know both Phasmophobia and our team are capable of. We’ve created brand new assets, props, animations and more to populate 6 Tanglewood Drive and bring it in line with the vision we’ve always had for it.
[/p][p]Our approach to Tanglewood was to give it a much more ‘lived-in’ feel than the other houses in-game currently, meaning older furniture and decor, giving us a sense of who 6 Tanglewood Drive belonged to before something happened within those walls.
[/p][p]We’ve also begun exploring what’s possible in terms of environmental storytelling with our latest maps and these reworks. While we aren’t spilling any secrets just yet, we’re looking forward to seeing Ghost Hunters explore and perhaps piece together their own stories for what’s taken place at 6 Tanglewood Drive.[/p][p][/p][p][/p]
The Design
[p]6 Tanglewood Drive was one of Phasmophobia’s first maps and we’ve learnt so much since then. We want our maps to each provide a unique gameplay experience; different room layouts, various options for players to approach any one contract, more ghost interactions. With all this in mind, we’ve approached the design of this rework with not only a profound sense of respect for the map that started it all, but with everything we as a team have learned designing newer maps such as Nell’s Diner.  In this rework, it was important that we keep the core design of the house as familiar as possible. So while there aren’t any drastic layout changes (bar one we’ll talk about in a moment), the redesign has given 6 Tanglewood Drive a much richer personality introduced through new interactions and landmarks that players will notice from their first steps inside.[/p][p][/p][carousel][/carousel][p]One area that will feel very fresh to all players is the sound of 6 Tanglewood Drive. We’ve implemented a whole host of new audio features both to existing parts of Tanglewood and new one, creating one of our most immersive maps in-game yet.

There’s even a dryer jingle.
[/p][p]When we first revealed a look at the rework, we saw a lot of conversation around the new kitchen area and the distinct lack of looping spot. While the looping spot has indeed been removed from the kitchen area, Ghost Hunters needn’t fear - there’s still excellent locations within the walls of 6 Tanglewood Drive to loop your ghost. We chose to make this decision purely from a gameplay perspective and overall flow of the map. When you enter the new kitchen, it’ll feel much more natural and in-line with the scene we’re setting.
[/p][p]We knew when we announced that 6 Tanglewood Drive would be getting a rework it would be a hot topic amongst the community due to its popularity and the place it holds in player’s hearts. With the work now done on this new version, we believe we’ve only improved on what makes the map so special.
[/p][p]We hope you enjoy the new look when it releases on March 3rd, 2026.[/p][p]

Phasmophobia's most popular map is getting a major rework, making this the only acceptable time to be excited by the phrase 'a new surprise in the basement'

Phasmophobia's list of demon-infested destinations has grown over the last few years, but Kinetic Games hasn't abandoned its old haunts in favor of the new. Last year, both Bleasdale and Grafton Farmhouse saw major visual overhauls, and now the ghost-hunting game's first-ever map, 6 Tanglewood Drive, is scheduled for an upgrade on March 3...

Phasmophobia Revamps Its First Map For Bigger Scares and Secrets

Kinetic Games has been hard at work bringing Phasm0phobia up to the high standard of quality they want the game to have. Now they’ve taken another big step by updating the first map they created for the game.

Announced today, fan favourite 6 Tanglewood Drive will receive a massive overhaul in the same vein as the Grafton and Bleasdale farmhouses. The updated map will be available on March 3rd, 2026 and is meant to increase the quality, interactivity, and replayability of the well-loved location. The updated Tanglewood will feature brand-new ghost interactions within the map and a new surprise in the basement.

Kinetic Games will keep this structure and much of the original feel when refreshing the design. “The last thing we want to do is remove the magic that players already experience in the game. We understand that Tanglewood is a fan favourite and it’s many of ours too,” said Art Director at Kinetic Games Corey Dixon.”

Phasmophobia's Roadmap for 2026

[p]Welcome back, Ghost Hunters. We’ve got some news for you.[/p][p][/p][p]Today, we’re excited to reveal our Roadmap for Phasmophobia for 2026 - our journey to 1.0.[/p][p][/p][p]This year is set to be the biggest for Phasmophobia yet, as we do the game development equivalent of crossing our I’s and T’s, exiting Early Access and releasing the full version of the game we’ve been working on for the last 6+ years. [/p][p][/p][p]We’re pulling back the curtains on just a handful of our plans with our Roadmap, with more details to come throughout the year. Read on to find out what’s in store.[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Major Updates[/p][p]As you can see from the Roadmap, there are several major updates we’re working towards in 2026; our Player Character update, an update to bring Phasmophobia to Unity 6, a netcode update, our launch on Nintendo Switch 2 and, of course, Phasmophobia 1.0 - bringing with it our horror rework, lore update and more. [/p][p][/p][p]While we went into detail on our Player Character update and (a little bit of) Phasmophobia 1.0 in our most recent Development Preview, we won’t be sharing too many more details on these updates until we’re closer to launch. Stay tuned for news throughout the year. [/p][p]
2026 Maps[/p][p]In 2026, we’ll continue our work on older Phasmophobia maps to bring them up to the standards we have set ourselves with updates to Grafton Farmhouse and Bleasdale Farmhouse. The first of these, 6 Tanglewood Drive (itself detailed in the latest Development Preview) will launch soon while 13 Willow Street will arrive later in the year.[/p][p][/p][p]These reworks will bring with them updated visuals, slight but important gameplay/layout changes as well as a host of new assets, interactions and more. Our aim with our map reworks is always to retain everything we all love about these maps but bring them in line with our overall vision for Phasmophobia, which we believe we achieved with last year’s reworks and are set to with these.[/p][p][/p][p]We’ll also be releasing another new map in 2026. Following Nell’s Diner in 2025, this new map will bring a new style of location to the game. But that’s enough detail for now. [/p][p][/p][p]Events[/p][p]Finally, we’re looking forward to another year of great in-game community events. Cursed Hollow, Crimson Eye and Winter’s Jest will all return at similar times throughout 2026 bringing with them another chance to work together and on your own to earn rewards and upgrade your trophy.[/p][p][/p][p]This year however, we’ll be adding a new limited-time event to the game. While we can’t share what exactly this event is right now, we can promise you it’s going to be worth the wait. [/p][p][/p][p]Of course, this is just an overview of what we have planned throughout 2026 for Phasmophobia, with plenty more waiting in the wings. As always, stay tuned to our social channels, official Discord server and blog for the latest news and updates on the game as well as Kinetic Games ourselves.[/p][p][/p][p]We hope you’re looking forward to it all, Ghost Hunters.[/p]

Phasmophobia's roadmap includes evidence of a 1.0 launch in 2026: a player character overhaul, new event, and Horror 2.0

Phasmophobia's early access build celebrates its sixth anniversary as a viral ghost-hunting breakout on Steam later this year, but that's assuming we make it to September before the 1.0 launch. If Kinetic Games' latest roadmap stays on track, then we'll be cutting it close, as Phasmophobia is planning for its 1.0 launch with a horror rework and lore update sometime this year...
