Albino Update is Here!

Greetings dinosaur hunters!

The latest update brings new wanted skin types for dinosaurs. There are also new parameters in the scoring system with the introduction of Legendary score. Read on to find all patch content.

New dinosaur skin types: Albino and melanistic

Each dinosaur species has got two new skin types that are very rare and challenging to find!

The full list of dinosaur skin types is now:
 • Common
 • Rare
 • Melanistic
 • Albino
Albino
Dinosaurs with albino skin condition have a very light/white skin color. Albinos are the hardest to find as chances of spawning one are small. They will give you the highest rarity score from such dinosaurs. They are also quite easy to spot as they don’t really blend in the environment!
Melanistic
Dinosaurs with melanistic skin condition have a really dark/black skin color. Melanistic dinosaurs are very rare but not as rare as albinos. They will give you higher rarity scores than rare skin type dinosaurs.

New score class: Legendary

Legendary is the new highest score you can get. The game score ranks are now the following:
 • None
 • Bronze
 • Silver
 • Gold
 • Diamond
 • Legendary

Trophy score variables were also adjusted to house more variables for scores. There are three new variables:
 • Rarity bonus: When a dinosaur is of albino or melanistic or rare skin type you’ll get bonus score depending on level of rarity.
 • Heart shots bonus: Depending on how many shots hit the heart you’ll get an increase in this bonus. Hits are counted both from shots that first hit the heart and which penetrated to eventually hit the heart.
 • Difficult gun bonus: When a dinosaur is shot with a difficult weapon you’ll get an increase in this bonus.

The existing “Rarity bonus” variable was renamed to “Weight bonus” because that’s what it is. Your existing scores won’t be affected by these changes.

Modding improvements
 • Fixed some null issues with parameters
 • Added notification event
 • Player position can be set as position
 • Added default “dinosaurs_alive” parameter
 • Added “parameter_smaller_than” condition
 • Added new placeable wall

Other improvements
 • Improved connectivity: Game tries to reconnect to server for maximum of 30 seconds if internet connection is dropped before throwing player back to the menu
 • Pachycephalosaurus rare skin was changed to better distinguish it from other skin types
 • Utahraptor rare skin was changed to better distinguish it from other skin types
 • Weight is now more precise resulting in better generation of different dinosaur classes

Bug fixes
 • Drag & drop of equipment automatically closes the equipment dialog box if one is open. This fixes the possibility of losing equipment if moving equipment when dialog was left open.
 • Mission suggestion dialogs appear only after the player has left the shop view. Fixes player movement that previously was possible with shop open when a mission was suggested.
 • Fixed issue where dinosaur could get stuck in attack loop.
 • Fixed issue where upon death storage box expansion could drop.

Trophy Lodge Update is Here!

Greetings dinosaur hunters!

It’s highly recommended to check these patch notes as there are changes to how the inventory works.

Before going into the update details we want to thank our great community for your support! :) We keep getting steady feedback from you guys and we truly appreciate it. As always we like to know what you want to see: What new stuff would you add? What current stuff would you like to change? All ideas are welcome! :)

The update brings trophy lodges and a reworked inventory system among multiple other improvements!

Trophy lodges

All players now have access to trophy lodges. Trophy lodges can be used to put on display your taxidermied dinosaurs. With the new taxidermy option you can start harvesting your own trophies!

You can freely place stands in your trophy lodge. Stands are placed with i-key. You can rotate them freely using mouse scroll. Once you’re satisfied with the position hit left mouse button and a stand will appear where the yellow stand marker is. You can remove stands freely too.

To place a dinosaur on the stand press E. This will give you list of all the dinosaurs you’ve sent to be taxidermied. Please note the dinosaur size with stand placement!

Once a dinosaur is on a stand you can inspect its details with E. You will see a stat screen showing its score and date among other details.

You can replace dinosaurs on stands without removing stands first. You will not lose any of your taxidermied dinosaurs this way, they will go back to the taxidermied dinosaur list.

Taxidermy

With trophy lodges we introduce a taxidermy option for dinosaurs you’ve hunted. When visiting the harvest screen you can choose to send the dinosaur to be taxidermied. Taxidermied dinosaurs will not give you any rewards and can’t be used for contracts. Taxidermy will cost a different sum depending on the species. You will see the cost in the button. A helicopter will pick up the dinosaur.

Inventory rework

A new inventory system based on total capacities is a part of this update. We are giving up the old grid based system to determine what items can fit in inventory. The new system will calculate capacity sum from all items carried without the need to make room for them in the grid.

The new inventory introduces these improvements:

 • Players have a total capacity they can carry. Each item requires some capacity from your inventory. You can see the amount of used capacity in the bottom of the screen.
 • Drag & drop works everywhere.
 • Players no longer have to combine ammunition as all ammunition of the same type is shown in one chunk and is combined automatically.
 • Once an item can’t fit in inventory or storage box player gets a notification about it.
 • The new inventory has tabs which sort the items with types. Default view shows all items (backpack icon).
 • The new inventory shows what ammunition your equipped weapons use and how much ammunition you are currently carrying for them.
 • Numbers are shown next to equipped items to show their hotkey.
 • You can transfer a certain amount of ammunition by right clicking it and choosing “Store amount”. This will open a dialog that lets you pick the amount of transferred ammunition.
 • Inventory drop upon death has been adjusted: You will lose ammunition more equally from your weapons and the amount dropped is more fair compared to previous inventory system.

It is possible when you now start playing you will have overcapacity in your inventory or storage box because of the inventory migration. You can deal with it by purchasing more space in your storage box if you want to keep all of it. You cannot add any items to your inventory or storage box before you’ve dealt with the possible overcapacity situation.

Additional storage box space

Additional storage box space can be purchased from the shop. Each purchase increases your storage box capacity by 10 units. Every additional purchase of 10 units will increase the cost.

Steamworks integration

Players are now able to publish their mods to Steam Workshop and to subscribe to mods in Steam Workshop. Dinosaur properties can now be fully customized in mods. We will share mod documentation soon.

Environment improvement: Big bushes

The whole island has gotten more vegetation on it. There are new bigger bushes of multiple types. They provide cover for players and dinosaurs and make it harder to spot dinosaurs in many areas.

Death marker in compass

Death markers can now be clicked in the map view to show death location in your compass. You can deactivate the death marker from your compass by clicking it again. Chosen death marker won’t disappear from compass before you deactivate it.

Other improvements
 • Scope animation has been added
 • Larger carnivores no longer always investigate with running
 • Player can hold breath with binoculars
 • Player level and currency shown in map etc menus
 • Tyrannosaurus Rex footsteps can be heard further away
 • Adjusted post processing
Bug fixes
 • Tracking complete notification text fixed
 • Hunt unknown pinpointed dinosaur contract no longer shows dinosaur type in info screen

Development Blog #19 - Trophy lodges are coming!

Greetings dinosaur hunters!

Another update is being worked on including trophy lodges. All images are work in progress images and are subject to change.
Trophy lodges
All players will get a chance to own their own trophy lodges with the coming update. It has to be purchased first and after that you’ll be able to send taxidermied dinosaurs to your lodge. It will be accessible from the main menu.

You can choose to display the whole dinosaur or just the head. Multiple dinosaurs can be fitted into the lodge. We are most likely going to put a player level requirement before a trophy lodge can be purchased.
Taxidermy
With trophy lodges we’ll introduce a taxidermy option for dinosaurs you’ve hunted. When visiting the harvest screen you can choose to send the dinosaur to be taxidermized. Taxidermied dinosaurs will not give the player any cash rewards. Taxidermy will cost a different sum depending on the species.
Steam Workshop integrated
Players will be able to publish their mods to Steam Workshop and to subscribe to mods in Steam Workshop.
Storage box size increase
The storage box will be expandable after the next update. The extra space will cost some credits.

These were some of the features you will be seeing in the next update.

Bow Update has been released!

Greetings dinosaur hunters!

The first update of 2022 introduces tribal bow, berry plants and other improvements. Read on to find what’s included!
New weapon: Tribal Bow
Tribal bow is a weapon that was used by ancient hunters. It’s a stealthy weapon as you hardly cause any noise with it compared to firearms. The tribal bow has a limited range and damage compared to firearms. You’ll find the shot arrows on the ground or in your prey. As the arrows fly slower you’re able to see them during long shots.

Tribal bow uses a new ammo type: Arrow. Arrow packs can be purchased from the shop. You can also find arrow packs in loot boxes. Unlike told in the previous development blog you’re not yet able to collect back shot arrows.

Controls used with the bow are a bit different than with firearms. To draw the bow you need to hold the left mouse button. Once you want to shoot you release the left mouse button. If you want to cancel your shot you need to click the right mouse button simultaneously which releases the draw. If you keep the bow drawn too long your aim will start to waiver.
Berry plants
New plant type has been added on the island: Berry plants. They provide a way for the player to regain some lost health by eating the exotic berries. The healing effect is smaller than with a health pack but the player may find multiple berry plants in an area. Berry plants respawn berries after a while.
Dinosaur AI improvements
• Herbivores that the player hasn't hurt will stop chasing the player after a while.
 • If a dinosaur didn’t hear where the shot originated from (more probable with a tribal bow) they will just charge in pain and might not find the player.
Shot improvements
The following changes affect trophy integrity:
 • In case you shoot a dinosaur with a gun that isn’t eligible for the proper gun bonus the integrity drop effect will be double the normal rate.
 • Inappropriate guns list has been defined for smaller dinosaurs. In case you shoot a dinosaur which has these defined you’ll see immediate integrity drop although you hit the correct organs.
 • Pteranodon integrity calculation has been unified with the rest of the species.

Bleeding effect calculation has been finetuned based on how good hits per organ you managed to do. If you just barely hit an organ you’ll inflict less bleeding. A shot that stays in an organ longer will cause more bleeding.

A new info screen has been created to the leaderboard view. You’ll find information on what are the proper guns to hunt dinosaurs for maximum score. You’ll also find out about the new inappropriate guns: Which guns are likely to destroy your trophy score. To access the info screen press the i-symbol in the lower right corner of the dinosaur picture.
Shop improvements
All weapons have new stats screens in the shop that will help you to identify the attributes of each weapon. The attributes shown are penetration, damage, fire rate, accuracy, noise and magazine size.
Updated aim animations
Aim animations for iron sight weapons were improved. Aiming down the sights is now easier as the guns shake less and hold the aim precisely when standing still. This improvement affects pistol, revolver, shotgun, .700 double barrel rifle and tranquilizer bow.
Other improvements
• Drag & drop interchange of equipment is now possible
 • Updated multiplayer system
 • Added water bullet impact effect for all weapons
 • Bullet impact particles now scale properly and now scaling works in multiplayer
 • Added information for binoculars, tracking device and camouflage net in the shop to notify players that these items can be obtained from missions
 • Memory optimizations to reduce memory usage
 • New smaller hit sounds for Compsognathus attacks
 • Improved controller support
