Greetings dinosaur hunters!

Find out how our development is going for our coming August update! We’ve added some content and have been working on finalizing the new features. Read on to find out more!

Thank you to our great community for your support! Your feedback makes a difference and we really appreciate your help 😊

First person model & animation status

From this video you can check how the refined animations look. We’ve done some updates on the models too. Players will have the ability to choose gloves for their player or go without gloves. And we've added some empty cartridges to the animations!

Thalassodromeus

Model has been finished. Texture work is currently ongoing.

Mosasaurus

Mosasaurus skin texture has been created and we are currently developing the AI.

Loot boxes in the water

Mechanism for loot boxes has been finished. The land loot boxes content we will buff by adding a possibility for all items except for the weapons to spawn there. In water loot boxes you also have possibility to get weapons like in the screenshot below.

Sell inventory items

UI for selling inventory items is in progress. Sell value for items will be 50% of buy price.

Hard mode

In the coming update players can choose to play in hard mode. It is a harder mode for experienced players with more risk and reward. The following modifiers will then apply:

 • Non vital hits make less damage
 • 50% more experience and credits for kills and contracts
 • Dinosaurs make double damage
 • Map guides (orange circles) removed for non-tracking contracts. Tracking contracts will have a larger circle than in normal mode.

Inventory update

We’ve worked on improving the display of inventory capacity. There will be exact decimals shown for whole inventory capacity so that players get exact picture of used capacity.

Multiplayer network improvements

We have worked on multiple improvements to multiplayer networking. This means that players and dinosaurs will be synced better for clients. You can expect to see these improvements in the coming update:

Fixed player vertical look movement from sending lots of unnecessary network traffic.

Created new debug option in test menu for showing network traffic.
Added new debug information and more accurate message calculation.
Added dinosaur message per second calculation for better network development.

Improved prediction accuracy of dinosaur and player movements.

Fixed issues with special dinosaur states that would be incorrectly synced to clients.

Other improvements

Here you will find list of other improvements that have been done and will be included to the next update:

 • New translation: Brazilian Portuguese (Thanks Joseph M!)
 • Transitions to ragdolls have been smoothed so that dinosaurs will end up in more natural positions
 • Improved rendering of long sun shadows when source of shadow is out of view
 • In game menu settings now show correct values and slider positions when opening the menu.
 • Improved tree culling, so there are less disappearing distant trees
 • Optimized taxidermized trophies storage on server.
 • Improved error reporting when loading a mod with syntax error
 • Ankylosaurus ragdoll was improved
 • Pachycephalosaurus walk animation was adjusted

Bug fixes

Here you will find list of bug fixes that have been done and will be included to the next update:

 • Taxed dinosaurs now check for unique ID, so no duplicates / missing taxidermizes happen.
 • Contracts now check for unique ID, so no duplicates / missing completed contracts happen between sessions.

Development Blog #24 – First person view rework and new dinosaurs!

Greetings dinosaur hunters!

We are preparing multiple improvements for the coming update: first person view rework, new flying dinosaur Thalassodromeus, our first underwater dinosaur Mosasaurus and other improvements! Read on to find out more!

Thanks again for your great ideas and support!

First person model & animation rework

In the next update the first person model and animations will get a total rework.
New models
First person hands will reflect the clothing and character choice the player has made. It means that all current characters Jack, Amy and Scotch will have their own first person hand models displayed. The first person clothing will have the look you chose in the menu.
New animations
All the animations will be reworked for first person view. Here is a WIP video showcasing current progress with the animations.

[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

There will be new animations for some interactions like when player uses binoculars or enters crouch position.

New flying dinosaur: Thalassodromeus

So far Pteranodon have been dominating the skies but now we are working on another species to accompany them: Thalassodromeus. They are colorful flying dinosaurs with a distinctive look.

New underwater dinosaur: Mosasaurus

In the coming update swimmers will have to take into account that there lurks a new danger in the deeps: Mosasaurus!

We are not planning to include hunting gear to hunt underwater yet. This is something we’ll be adding later.

Loot boxes in the water

Loot boxes will start to spawn in the water too. They will have their own look compared to loot boxes on land. Loot boxes in the water might have more valuable loot in them including weapons. But will you chance it when a Mosasaurus can hunt you?

Sell inventory items

We are working on a mechanism to enable players to sell excess inventory. Sell value will be less than the purchase value (We were thinking 50% of buy price).

New player hat: Boonie hat

Boonie hats are being created and will be made available for all the camouflage options.

New revolver model

Revolver will have a new model in the coming update.

Gallimimus rework

Old Gallimimus model will be replaced with a new one. The model will be one of the first dinosaurs to feature fur/feathers to make it more accurate. All animations will be reworked too.

Reworked Gallimimus will not be part of the next update but we wanted to share current progress with you!

Iguanodon rework

We are also working on a new Iguanodon model with new animations.

Reworked Iguanodon will not be part of the next update but we wanted to share current progress with you!

These improvements you can expect to see in the coming updates!

Thank you for reading and we look forward to hearing your thoughts.

May Update has been published!

Greetings dinosaur hunters!

Today’s update brings improvements to hitboxes and new accessories for characters. Read on to find out more.

Thanks again for our community! You helped us shape the content with your direct input. We are thankful for all the feedback! ːsteamhappyː

High scores

High score list displays 100 best scores instead of ten per dinosaur. Whenever player claims / taxes a dinosaur with a high score they get a notification with the position in the high score list. High score list view is updated immediately when player makes it to the list. Please note that the list will display only the highest score you have for a certain dinosaur. You cannot have multiple high score entries in one dinosaur.

Improved dinosaur hitboxes

All dinosaurs have improved hitboxes. All dinosaurs walking with four legs now have hitbox location in front legs (hits register into Thigh_R or Thigh_L). New hitboxes were added to necks, tails, wings etc. so that they match the models better. Gaps found in hitboxes were fixed for many dinosaurs which should prevent shots not being registered that looked like direct hits. Some hitboxes were resized to better match the dinosaur physique.

New accessories: Glasses

New glasses can be purchased for your character. They have different types of lenses from black to fully clear lenses. Here is a list of the new glasses available:
 • Khaki Sunglasses Back
 • Khaki Sunglasses Black Tint
 • Protective Glasses Clear
 • Protective Glasses Yellow
 • Protective Glasses Black
 • Safety Glasses Clear
 • Safety Glasses Yellow
 • Safety Glasses Black

Other improvements

 • Updated French translation (Thanks MagSouille!)
 • Fixed floating spikes in Pachycephalosaurus corpse
 • Fixed helicopter from dropping corpses
 • Improved Steam friend joining to wait for player data to be loaded before joining match
 • Improvement to culling: Trees near player do not stop casting shadows when out of view
 • Improvement to spawn location: When you quit in a special location you will spawn there too
 • Improved player collision: Now when player is against a wall or any other block, jumping is not prevented if there is ground below player. This also helps with not getting stuck in rocks and other places.
 • Adjusted some distant tree colors
 • Added new option for ADS (aim down sights) toggle: Have it on and aiming behaves like before. Toggle it off and you need to hold aim button to aim with all weapons.

Bug fixes

 • Fixed a rare issue where sometimes claimed trophy would not register to server.
 • Fix for underwater sounds played while killed on land
 • Fixed issue with feedback menu breaking main menu items layout after back button pressed
 • Purchasing hats, glasses or clothes now instantly updates the selection list, so accidentally buying the same item again won’t be possible.
