LIV v2.9.0

Well hello there you beautiful people you. We've got a stonker of an update here!
Here're your headlines
• First-person stabilizer gets wider FoV, resolution settings and a fix for games that are too dark! πŸ”¦
  • We've got you some estimated dynamic lighting and reflections for LIV avatars! ✨
  • Support for Beat Saber Legacy in auto-capture!
  • Segmentive background removal is back! Sorry about that. πŸ˜“

You'llve noticed we've updated our EULA. Along with that, we've also updated our privacy policy and terms of service. Please give it a thorough read through! It's for a good cause. We're working on getting YouTube integration ready for StreamerKit!

And to wrap things up - if you haven't heard already, we've created a Gorilla Tag mod that adds LIV support! Check it out via the home screen and become πŸ’
New
• Resolution & aspect ratio settings have been added to the first-person stabilizer. Whatever you set gets remembered, and you can double-click the window to go fullscreen!
  • Along with that, both eyes are now composited and smoothed together, meaning more pixels for you to see!
  • Game looks too dark in the first-person stabilizer? Enable the "Gamma Fix" checkbox and brighten it back up to normal.
  • Dynamic lighting & reflections for LIV avatars! 🀯 This feature uses your HMD's output for creating a dynamic, live light and reflection map. If you're using metallic materials in your avatars, you'll see beautiful realtime reflections when the camera's up-close and personal. Enable it in LIV's avatar UI.
  • We've updated how we render UI in the headset - meaning, a much sharper image and a wider field of view when you're working with LIV avatars. Enjoy your new prescription πŸ‘“
  • Don't like the avatar camera that a game provides you out-of-the-box? Uncheck the "Use game camera" avatar option and use your own πŸ˜‰
Fixed
• Support for capturing SteamVR Home in the first-person stabilizer has been fixed.
  • The LIV "Export to OBS" plugin no longer causes LIV to crash if OBS isn't open yet.
  • Various LIV compositor crashes have been resolved!
  • Quest capture tools no longer have a 10% chance to crash on load.
  • We've added a link to the message that shows when SteamVR hasn't been installed or run yet, so you know we're talking about SteamVR, not just Steam.

LIV v2.8.4

LIV v2.8.4

First things first - headlines!

- First-person stabilizer gets better smoothing, a blurry background option, and in-VR preview!
- LIV gets a mini-makeover with an updated start screen and tweaked window layout!
- Some crashes were fixed!
- We're testing out Quest Avatars and our OBS Plugin, more at 10.

New:
- Updated welcome screen, with easily-accessible changelog and feedback options. Help guide the direction LIV will go!
- We've added in that much-requested background blur to our shiny new first-person stabilizer.
- Oh! Speaking of, we also improved the settings UI quite a bit - now with an in-VR preview of your output!
- We've also tweaked our smoothing function, set new presets, and unlocked its framerate! Silky smooth footage for all 🀀
- Our OBS Plugin, available on the "latest" branch, allows you to "Export" any scene or source to be used as your LIV camera, without any CPU overhead!
- We're working hard to get Quest Avatars ready, testing in a small group now over on "latest" πŸ‘€

Fixed:

- We've added extra CPU & GPU usage monitors to our telemetry files, which we're hoping will give us a hand with tracking down lingering performance trouble you might be having.
- StreamerKit would sometimes crash when disconnecting from StreamElements, just some already-cleaned up stuff complaining about being fussed over!
- StreamerKit also would sometimes crash when SteamVR was being closed.
- Our tutorial got to be clingy for some of you... refusing to finish the tutorial right at the last possible moment. We've had a little chat about responsibilities.
- It didn't let us off easy though, the tutorial would crash LIV on close too. We're making progress, here!
- The first-person stabilizer now correctly matches the gamma setting of whatever it's capturing.
- ... sad to call this fixed but the Quest logo has been updated. πŸ‘‹πŸ˜

If you love what we do, please chuck us a Steam review!

First-person stabilizer improvements!

LIV v2.8.2

Improvements, and bugfixes. Have a great weekend everyone!

Coming soon for the stabilizer:
  • Both eyes at the same time
  • Blurred background so you can use it with a lower zoom settings

New:
  • Changed the interpolation algorithm used in the first-person stabilizer so it keeps up better with fast motions, we've adjusted the default presets too.

Fixed:
  • The first-person stabilizer now correctly uses the eye you choose. Sorry, lefties πŸ˜…
  • We've adjusted the filtering used for the stabilizer so you should not see "crispy" artifacts anymore.
  • The laser-pointer UI would sometimes show up in the first-person stabilizer, which.. isn't the game you were capturing, so we turned that off.

LIV v2.8.0 -SteamVR FPV Smoothing + Fixes!

It's April Fools', but this update is for real.
We've got new features and a whole host of fixes for you!

We're plugging away on Avatars for Quest, and hope to bring that to you in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on us πŸ˜‰

SteamVR FPV Smoothing!

Back and better than ever. We've got silky-smooth capture of any SteamVR game (* that doesn't use anti-cheat) that doesn't cost any significant amount of GPU or CPU resources!

You can change which eye to show, how much to zoom in, and how much smoothing to apply. We have more improvements to bring, so please check it out and share your feedback with us.

Launch the FPV smoother, launch your chosen game, then check out the LIV logo on the floor in your headset to customize some settings. Add VIVR.exe to your broadcasting software as a game capture source!

Finally, make sure you check "Allow Transparency" in OBS's Game Capture so that you can overlay it on other elements without a black border!

New:
- SteamVR FPV Smoothing is back!
- We added smoothing presets, eye choice and roll lock to the FPV smoother!
- You may now disable animated emotes in StreamerKit if they're just too much.
- Protocol update for all Quest features in preparation for Avatars for Quest.

Fixed:
- Avatar finger tracking has been fixed!
- LIV loading time should be reduced, and you'll no longer see a Unity crash report on launch.
- Twitch bits alerts are back, sorry about that. We hadn't fully switched over to their new API!
- When using any in-VR LIV UI with the SteamVR Dashboard open, it would steal your laser pointers. We know that's wrong and we gave them back.
- If you're one of those Beat Saber modding types that downgrade, you may have had issues with your LIV calibration - we've fixed this!
- You can once again filter alerts using StreamerKit's in-HMD window. We... forgot that was interactive.
- We uh.. forgot that when the smoother UI is closed that it shouldn't be interactive. Atom was trying to kill zombies and zoomed in way too far.
- The FPV Smoother UI now actually keeps up with you. It just needed a bit of caffeination.
- StreamerKit's chat positioning settings have been fixed, you can now use the presets correctly again.

Note: Please make sure you update LIV Connect on your Quest too! That goes for you too, LIV Mobile-ers - your apps have updates!

LIV v2.6.0!

You may notice with this update that the watermark has re-appeared, you can remove it by creating an account with LIV (auth via Twitch, Tiktok, YT).

Head over to the LIV.tv blog to read more about it!

New:
  • Get your Discord text channel into VR!
Sign in with Discord, add our bot, and pick a channel to watch.
Use `/notify MESSAGE` to send a HUD notification direct to your friend’s eyes πŸ‘β€πŸ—¨
When the bot’s added to a Discord server, any LIV user can watch any of the text channels the bot has access to.
  • Discord audio streaming support is now in stable!
Enable it using the toggle switch under Capture. Make sure when you stream to Discord you target the LIV Output window.
  • StreamerKit’s getting a bit more love with the return of StreamElements donation notifications, and the addition of SevenTV emote support.
We've also added a cheeky little Pulsoid integration so you can keep an eye on your own rate with any Pulsoid-supported HRM!
  • Our avatars are receiving their first major update in a while - we've updated a few libraries, tweaked their behaviour a bit, and adjusted how "Body Calibration" works. The end result is better lower-body locomotion and less manual tweaking needed. Expect more avatar updates next month!
  • As you might be able to tell, we have in-app changelogs! πŸ₯³

Fixed:
  • Metallic avatars showing too dark were missing a probe in our project that got broken during refactors. We've contacted a trusted UFO supplier and addressed the problem.
  • We would crash whenever seeing scary unknown Unicode characters in window titles. Halloween's sadly over, and LIV got over those fears.
  • Masterpiece Studio Pro was special and had multiple applications within it.. Breaking our assumptions about how Steam applications work. We've taught LIV the powers of plurality.
