Tennis Elbow 4 News

After nearly 9 years of development through TEM2+TE4, I'm finally on the edge of moving on to new projects ! 🥳

It's still not the end of the road for TE4, though, and I'll still improve the game here and there in the coming years, but once this new version is stabilized, I won't work full-time on TE4 anymore.

I'll likely do the official release of the game during the Australian Open 2026, next January.

I hope you'll enjoy it, and here's the full changelog.

- Animation : new motion-captured movement animations (if you prefer to use the Legacy ones, disable Settings -> 3D Match -> Motion-captured animations)
- Animation : now the player walks when you move left/right while preparing your service (only available when the Mocap anim are enabled)

[h2]Bug Fixes :[/h2]
- Strike : the normal strike after the bounce (ie: not a volley) could end too long, even when prepared for a very long time, when standing near the net
- Animation : left players could get their animations mirrored
- World Tour : Pure Junior Players (the ones who will never make it Pro) could get an incorrect skin color
- World Tour : some Junior streaks weren't tracked at all
- Online : now if you only have a IPv6 and no IPv4, you should still be able to connect to the online mode

- Strike : the service couldn't clip the net anymore, except on slice serves
- World Tour : with the previous update, it was not possible to load the Women's Tour
- Menu : with the previous update, showing the in-game help at the start of the match and clicking on "ok" with the mouse was coming back to the Main menu

- Strike : slice lowers more the precision of the next opponent's strike, closer to Build 141 and before (Build 142 lowered it too much by mistake)
- Animation : changed the way the animations are loaded to save a bit of memory on consoles (Modded animation loading is unchanged)

[h2]Bug Fixes :[/h2]
- World Tour : having very old saved games could prevent loading recent ones in Word Tour -> Load Game
- World Tour : generated doubles specialists could get a playing style not compatible with doubles, making them too strong in singles
- Animation : the player's wrong back rotation was still occurring
- Commentary : fixed the triggering conditions for a couple of lines
- AI : your doubles partner could end up wrongly positioned if he thought he could catch the ball, but then let you play it

I just fixed the Steam Cloud for macOS. So if you're on macOS, Steam should ask you if you want to use the Cloud save files or to keep your local files : choose to keep the local files, or else you're going to lose all your saved games.

[h2]before you launch the game, it's strongly recommended to back up your saved games ![/h2]

In case this choice isn't displayed, before you launch the game, it's strongly recommended to back up this folder : ~/Library/Application Support/Mana Games/Tennis Elbow 4/Profiles . So if everything is deleted, you'll just have to reinstall your Mods, reselect your profile if you have created one and restore that folder.

Check with Time Machine if you have activated it ; maybe they are there, although it's really uncertain.

The folder you'd need to restore is the same as above : ~/Library/Application Support/Mana Games/Tennis Elbow 4/Profiles .
