Chaos Chain - 12/7/21 Development Status Update

Hey everyone!,

So, it's been a bit since I posted a status about Chaos Chain.



Fret not, development has continued and progress has been made. It's just been slow...

I recently got very sick and that took a huge toll on the game's development pace. Along with other life and personal obstacles getting in the way, I have fallen a bit behind. I am only now starting to feel better after being sick, but I am trying my best to catch up.

Originally, I wanted to plan on releasing the game around December 15, but I don't think it's entirely possible now. That's only a week away and I just don't have enough actual gameplay content to justify selling the game as a paid product yet.

Even if it is Early Access and considered an Alpha phase of the game (like I've done with all my other games), it's just too early off. I really would like to start getting player feedback and having that level of interaction with my community like I have done for my previous projects, but I feel like it would just hinder me at this point because there is so little to actually do in game that people can't even get an idea of what I'm going for. As an indie dev, I think the game would fall apart before it even got a chance if I were to release it right now as it is.

For those of you who played Waste Walkers when it originally came out, it was bare bones, sloppy, and needed a lot of work. It did however, have enough content to play through for a few hours. Now, I'm working on this project, 7 years later and what I have is pretty solid, but it's just too empty. I don't even know if there is an hour of gameplay yet.

The game functions, is bug free, has a few unlinked quests to do with various outcomes, and the systems are all in place, but there is just not enough actual content. I.E. places to explore, enemies to fight, quests to do, etc. That is what I'm going to focus on over the next several days. If by some miracle I manage to pull it off, somewhere around December 15 is when I'm going to hopefully release it.

I will keep you all updated on how things go over the next few days, but I am trying my best to get the game out there ASAP for you to try out and enjoy!
