Embrace the Wild in the Keeper Challenge!



The Keeper Challenge has begun, and deep in Albion’s wilds, the mighty Grizzly Bear awakens from its long winter slumber. A symbol of raw strength and primal wisdom, this formidable beast stands unshaken in battle, its mere presence enough to make foes falter. Honor the Keepers' bond with nature, earn Challenge Points, and claim this guardian of the forest before it retreats into hibernation once more!

[h3]Timeless Treasures are Yours to Claim[/h3] GRIZZLY BEAR: This month's Challenge brings back the popular Grizzly Bear, a huge, intimidating mount with an arsenal of powerful spells. In addition to its Intimidating Aura toggle spell, it also gains a temporary speed boost when attacked, giving its rider an edge when enemies are in pursuit.

AVATAR RING: Reach your goals to unlock the Keeper Challenge avatar ring, which gives your chosen avatar the stone-and-leather look of Albion's true guardians. This non-tradable item permanently unlocks this avatar border for one character, or can be traded for one Adventurer's Token at the Vanity Merchant.

SEASONAL SPECIALS: All month, reach weekly goals to unlock Keeper Challenge chests. In addition to valuable rewards like Adventurer's Tomes, Silver bags, and rare resources, this month's chests contain various Keeper-themed furniture and capes.

[h3]How to participate in the Adventurer's Challenge[/h3]
The Adventurer's Challenge is a monthly event where you can earn exclusive rewards such as mounts, Tomes of Insight, bags of Silver, and more. By gathering, fishing, farming, and defeating monsters, you'll earn Challenge Points that fill daily, weekly, and monthly progress bars. To track your progress, open the Adventurer's Challenge UI by clicking on the Activities menu.



While only Premium players can unlock the Monthly Rewards (Avatar Ring, Mount) and Weekly Rewards (Challenge Chests), anyone can claim the Daily Rewards, which include 10 Learning Points and a Tier 4 Tome of Insight. Non-Premium players also make progress on all reward tracks, so when you’re ready to unlock Premium, your earned rewards will be waiting for you!

Dev Talk: Development Update Feb 2025

The Rogue Frontier update launched in early February, and it’s made Albion’s open world busier than ever, with players diving into Smuggler’s Dens and planting their Kill Trophies all over the world. In this new Dev Talk, Head of Production Moritz Bokelmann looks at the impact of that update and offers a taste of what we’re cooking up for you next.

[h3]Rogue Frontier[/h3]
The Rogue Frontier update has so far been a success, and activity levels are looking good.
  • The Bank Overview, Personal Island Chests, and Kill Trophies have all been very popular
  • Smuggler’s Dens and Smuggler’s Activities have made the Outlands more lively than ever
  • Solo players and all sizes of groups are thriving in the open world


[h3]Albion’s Next Update[/h3]
Work is underway on the next major game update, which will focus on instanced PvP and the new player experience.

Instanced PvP Content
  • The next update will address community concerns with Corrupted Dungeons and Hellgates
    • Additionally, these will be made directly accessible from major cities
  • A new PvP dungeon aimed at 2-3 player groups will be introduced
    • This is inspired by Knightfall Abbey, but with fewer exits, deeper levels, and greater consequences
    • Players can weigh up whether to escape with their loot, or dive deeper for more rewards


Early Game Improvements
  • The next update also aims to help new players once they’ve finished the tutorial
  • A new, dedicated Albion Journal category will offer structured milestones
    • These start simple, and gradually encourage self-sufficiency
  • There will be additional improvements aimed to help early-to-mid level players
The new update will also, of course, bring additional quality-of-life and gameplay improvements, and a new batch of Crystal Weapons.



[h3]Looking Further Ahead[/h3]
Beyond the next update, we want to continue improving Royal Continent gameplay for early-to-mid level players. One particular area of focus will be Faction Warfare. Faction Warfare is an important and popular feature, but several issues need to be addressed, for instance:
  • High repair costs
  • Difficulty finding consistent action
  • Lack of variety in objectives
We’re currently working on addressing these problems, as well as finding ways to make Faction Warfare activities more rewarding and engaging for everyone.



We’ll also have had a few Guild Seasons with the new, shorter format by then, and we’ll want to take another look at them – in particular to make them more attractive to mid-range guilds, while offering new goals for high-level guilds. We’re eager to hear your suggestions for improvements here and for other parts of the game, so if you have any ideas, let us know by commenting on the video above!

5v5 Tournament: The Results



An exciting 5v5 Tournament took place last weekend, and after a series of high-energy battles, we can announce the winners. So congratulations to E-Girl Hunters on their victory!

E-Girl Hunters managed to win all of their matches in the tournament – an impressive feat indeed – and walked away with 700 million Silver in prize money, and vanity skins. Second place went to Team Disbanded, who earned 533 million Silver and 30 days Premium, while Renouri prime took third spot, bagging themselves 266 million Silver and 7 days Premium.

A Fame Rush is Coming This Weekend!



Sharpen your blades, polish your tools, and ready your mounts because a Fame Rush is about to begin! This weekend, you will earn an extra 25% Fame for all ingame activities. Whether you’re battling monsters, gathering, or crafting, this boost will help you level up your masteries in no time.

Fame Rush times:
  • Albion Asia: Thursday, February 27 at 23 UTC – Sunday, March 2 at 23 UTC
  • Albion Americas & Europe: Friday, February 28 at 10 UTC – Monday, March 3 at 10 UTC
This bonus applies to most Fame sources, including PvE, gathering, crafting, and farming – but does not apply to PvP kills, Tomes of Insight, or challenge progression.

So stock up on snacks and clear your schedule – this is your chance to get ahead!

Changelog: Rogue Frontier Patch 2

This patch adds further polish to the Rogue Frontier update, along with several combat balance changes and additional fixes.

[h3]Season Winner Statues Added[/h3]

The statues to honor the winners of Season 25 are now viewable in each servers’ Conqueror’s Hall. Congratulations to the triumphant guilds – PIVAS, Upper Class, and Take Care!

[h3]Changes[/h3]
  • Portal Towns can now be set as Home
    • Players now receive a warning when leaving a Portal Town for the Outlands if the Homesick debuff will be triggered
  • The cooldown on Hideout Headquarters Boosters has been reduced from 90 days to 60 days, reflecting the new, shorter Guild Season duration
    • Guilds which have already used their Booster this season will find its current cooldown also reduced by 30 days after this patch
  • Smuggler Coins no longer leave trash when destroyed
  • Trash once again has a 100% destruction rate when killed or ejected from the Roads of Avalon (as was the case before the release of Rogue Frontier)
  • Added new Albion Journal missions for Kill Trophies in the Social & Guild category, under the Player Interactions subcategory

[h3]Combat Balance Changes[/h3]

Arcane Staffs

Astral Staff had been too powerful in group fights, so Starfall’s damage output has been reduced to bring it more in line with other AoE pressure weapons.

    • Damage per tick: 66 → 63
Axes

Razor Cut’s lifesteal effect has been significantly buffed to increase its impact.
  • Razor Cut (Bear Paws)
    • Lifesteal: 10% → 20%
Bows

Bows had fallen out of the meta following previous nerfs, so a portion of their power has been restored.
  • Enchanted Quiver (Bow)
    • Attack damage increase: 220% → 230%
Daggers

Twin Slayers have been performing well, but since it never feels good to be unable to recall your daggers due to a lack of energy, the entire energy cost is now paid up front.
  • Ring of Death (Twin Slayers)
    • Cast energy cost: 6 → 12
    • Recast energy cost: 6 → 0
Fire Staffs

Infernal Staff has struggled to find its place in the meta. As a result, its fear duration has been increased to allow more set-up time on the primary target, and require enemies to pay more attention to its fiery trail.
  • Combustion (Infernal Staff)
    • Fear duration: 0.75s → 1.25s
Shapeshifter Staffs

Fireflash Orb’s damage bonus has been increased to further reward Hellfire Imp players for hitting targets from greater distances.
  • Fireflash Orb (Hellspawn Staff)
    • Bonus damage per tick: 30 → 33
Swords

Clarent Blade had been affected by multiple tangential nerfs, so in order to revitalize it, the value of its secondary effect has been increased across all stack counts.
  • Crescent Slash (Clarent Blade)
    • 1 stack slow duration: 2s → 2.25s
    • 2 stack silence duration: 2s → 2.25s
    • 3 stack damage: 155 → 160
Soulless Stream’s long casting time has struggled in modern Albion. It has now been reduced slightly, but not so much that it loses its identity.
  • Soulless Stream (Galatine Pair)
    • Cast time: 1.1s → 0.9s
War Gloves

Earth Crusher’s knock-up duration has been extended to further highlight its utility.
  • Earth Crusher (Ravenstrike Cestus)
    • Knock-up duration: 1s → 1.2s
In addition to some hitbox and hit detection improvements, Shockwave's damage has been significantly increased to better accommodate mid-range fighting builds.
  • Shockwave (all Gloves)
    • Damage: 106 → 122
Helmets

While Firebreath is a popular solo PvE item, its damage has been increased to improve its success in PvP encounters.

    • Damage per tick: 33 → 36
All Gathering Caps now have the Emergency Shield spell to help gatherers remove lingering DoTs before consuming an Invisibility Potion or mounting up.

    • Additional ability: Emergency Shield (same as the Guardian Helmet ability)
Shoes

While the adoption of Demon Boots following its previous buffs has been satisfying, they now offer too much mobility at higher health percentages. Therefore, their buff duration and move speed bonus per stack have been reduced slightly.
  • Vengeful Sprint (Demon Boots)
    • Move speed bonus per stack: 25% → 22%
    • Duration: 6s → 5s
Mounts

Toxic Reaction has been removed, as it had the potential to put the mount's rider into combat unintentionally, hindering their ability to flee.
  • Toxic Reaction (Pest Lizard) has been removed

Spell Fixes
  • Dodge (all T4+ Shoes): Fixed issue where immunity could be purged
  • Interrupt (Swords): Fixed issue where the buff icon did not match the spell icon
  • Toxic Cloud (Pest Lizard), Energy Cloud (Tower Chariot), Boulder Crash (Earthrune Staff), Sky’s Fury (Skystrider Bow), and Infernal Boulder (Hellfire Hands) now have more accurate spell indication areas
  • Fixed several spell tooltips with more accurate descriptions
UI Fixes
  • Fixed issue where sorting options in the Guild Rights Management UI behaved incorrectly
  • Fixed issue where filtering the Bank Overview by all tiers would filter out all tiers, rather than including them
  • Fixed issue where several categories in the Rankings UI were not displaying in the correct order
  • Fixed issue where some T3 weapons had their abilities displayed in the wrong order on the Item Details UI
  • Fixed issue where Hellion Hood spells were displayed in the wrong order on the Item Details UI
  • Fixed issue where hovering over an item’s Average Price or Market History at the Marketplace would not display the exact amount
  • Fixed issue where different travel costs could be displayed for the same journey, depending on the UI
  • Fixed issue where the region map would not display City Plot details if opened while changing regions
  • Fixed issue where the Arena Match invitation pop-up could be closed with the ESC key without canceling the match, preventing entry
  • [CONTROLLER] Fixed issue where Marketplace category filters could not be changed
Albion Journal Fixes
  • Fixed issue where missions to free Captured Smugglers would not grant progress to party members
  • Fixed issue where missions to defeat Ghouls and Brawlers did not count all types
  • Fixed issue where defeating Archers within Avalonian Dungeons counted towards the wrong Albion Journal mission
Other Fixes
  • Fixed issue where items recovered to a city bank could not be accessed from a corresponding island bank
  • Fixed issue where the Smuggler’s Den and Hideout Fame buffs could stack
  • Fixed issue where having an Awakened Item in equipment or inventory would trigger spell cooldowns when changing regions
  • Various additional graphical, animation, terrain, audio, UI, and localization fixes
